When the ref did it with adesanya vs Pereira 1, most people applauded it. I guess we will see more of these till we agree that fighters must be allowed to fight until it's absolutely necessary to stop it
It's was a little early but not the worst stoppage.
Herzog did a great stoppage just before that one.
Strickland has boring fights, and we know the UFC doesn't give fighters that are boring tittle shots that often. Just looked at Belal Muhammad and Leon Edwards they both had like a 10 winning streak until they were given a shot at the tittle!
Strickland fans will accept the “it’s the opponents fault” excuse for him but will also call izzy boring when Yoel wouldn’t engaged with him.

Exactly. I don't think it was a bad stoppage at all. He got stunned badly and then proceeded to run away with his back turned.. I loved Jared, cool guy but he's a vet and should know that what he did signaled to Herzog that he should move in before further punishment is dealt.
What’s going on with combat sports dates? The Diaz Masvidal keeps changing dates, the Connor fight press conference canceled, Mike Tyson fight also changing dates. Not a good look for combat sports.

as a fan of Jared Cannonier I respectfully disagree as a fan of his, him running inside the octagon isn't the Killa Gorilla that we know that was his body responding to danger in a non-defensive manner, running like a child in the Octagon isnt correct, normally a fight would shoot for a takedown or roll with the punches or bob and weave.

The stopage was nit horrible jason herzog is the best ref jarred shoukd have stop turning his back an running away an he was staggering all around refs job is to protect the fighter that wasn't even close to some real bad stopages we have seen jarred should have not ran away u cant turn your back in the cage
The picture at 19:53 was taken after Cannonier had just stumbled back to the fence and is leaned against it to stay upright lmao.
As soon as he moves off the fence, Herzog has to brace him to keep him up.

The apex fights are amazing fights u get to here the figters when they talk u get to hear the coaches an there are fans there the last yr or so but they dnt have them at the apex for fan turnout another L take from ariel
One of the worst stoppages in years. I hate the idea that you have to fight a perfect fight and if you get rocked, the fight is over. You have to give guys a chance to recover and as long as you are blocking/moving, you are there and intelligently defending yourself. Jared was blocking everything that was coming at him and trying to get away. Awful stoppage and no accountability/training for the refs that make mistake OR the fighter that got robbed.
