M38A1’s had many different specifications across their service life based upon the task at hand and the department of the US armed forces they were destined for. The USMC Jeeps were one of the interesting ones however. They never had an “official” designation for the USMC jeeps, but they were fitted with specific modifications required for the Marine Core’s unique tasks. All USMC jeeps were given reinforced rear bumpers, and front and rear lift rings located in different positions so that every USMC jeeps could be air transportable in the field. They also had more waterproofing than standard, and a good majority of them were undercoated from the factory to prevent rust.
There are of course a good amount of these jeeps left in circulation, however, as time goes on, finding solid original service jeeps that still retain all the factory hardware, data plates, and serial numbers is getting difficult. This Jeep we have here is a great middle ground that still retains all of those items, yet is also not a fully nut and bolt museum restoration that you can only drive on special occasions. This jeep can be driven without worry, and be fixed and maintained as needed throughout the rest of its life on civilian roads. - Auta a dopravní prostředky
Had a '65 cj5 just like this. F'ing loved it
You guys have some great vehicles.
Nice I’m about to buy one just like this that I found for sale. Trailer and everything but it’s got a ford V8 swapped into it. Very excited to take it home today!
I had the 53 willys which was a M38-A1C…..ex Canadian army
Had a cold start pump next to ign switch…. Plus coil springs added to the rear due to weight of 105 recoilless….. shell holders on floor in rear an 2 seats one either side for crew….. no tailgate ( but I put one on for normal use)…. A barrel clamp on dash an a cut out windscreen…. Which I also replaced with a cj5. Like yours mine had the split down the windscreen missing……. Great looking jeep there💪🏼😎…… didn’t have grenade for gear knob though😵💫😆
🙂 Great video 😉
Esse eu tiro o chapéu muito lindo 👏👏👏👏👏
Que belleza de comboy! Lo que daría por tener uno igual!
Nice
Good.
Muy lindo jeep saludos desde Agentina
Beautiful 💞
That windshield should be a two piece, and the hooks on the back aren't right, and the tags don't look right. I just bought a solid 1954 m138a1, that has never been road titled, and was driven only in the summer in Northern Michigan on the guy's property. All the original parts for the 24 volt system are there, has the right air cleaner parts, and tags in the correct places. This jeep came from a government sale over 30 year's ago, and is solid. Anyone would be happy to get the jeep you have though, it's in nice condition. G-d bless.
I'm getting my 1989 GMC truck painted this color

Very poor shot video with one camera.
No commentary and not a word in text about the vehicle.
