When you hang the pull cord, leave the handle off and don't tie knots in it. If its just a straight piece of cord, the ceiminals cant stick a coat hanger thru the top and break in. If it has knots or handles, the hanger has something to grab onto.
I did watch few videos, I like one the most especially you only want to replace the garage opener. I really going to measure my old garage opener and see i can find the exact measurements with the new. That way i won't need to replace the tracks. Shop around home depot and Lowe's tonight. Once i found the one with eact measurament, check online if i can find cheaper.
Don’t know if you r answering comments. If have a garage that the door is 2 feet out from the front of the house. At the house portion a support beam comes from front of house through the garage keeping me from being able to take the chain pull unit all the way above the garage door any ideas?
You better go to home Depot or Lowe's and asked them personally. Take a picture of chained and garage opener. You can call as well, they may take forever to answer at least my local Home Depot takes forever to answer the phone.

What's annoying is I have this same opener and as I'm trying to install it , it doesn't come with the angle irons to mount it to the ceiling. Now why does the garage door opener not come with the basics you absolutely need to get the garage set up. What's the point of paying nearly $200 for a supposed kit
Because every install is different and they can't possibly include every combination of brackets and hardware for every situation. Some are mounted flush to the ceiling, mine hangs down over 2 feet from the ceiling.
I'm not an expert in garage doors or anything. But I know that you do NOT want to grease the tracks. Clean, yes. Grease, NO. You don't want your door's wheels slipping and sliding instead of spinning. Keep your track dry and clean. @5:52
youre wrong been in the field for 12 years and grease/ spray Lube is harmless and beneficial for doors as long as they are installed correctly, should not speak on something you know little about

You can also cut a pool noodle to size and put it over the string.
