*I'm deaf in my right ear which is why I'm not wearing headphones. I know, it's a bummer not to get the panning sounds. It's also been a bummer to only have one ear my whole life for lots of other reasons, like, playing telephone growing up, I was terrible at it. Thank you for this, i hope he sees it. The message of the song was more deep than we thought, and thinking about being released in the year Trump won the elections is even better. This song was underrated and everyone paid dust on Katy this era, and she did it for the best. She was brave

Lady Gaga - Alejandro!!! BTW I love This Katy's song - one od her Best, Deep meaning, sad, sarcastic and funny in the same time.
This song and video are basically about awakening, mind control, that nothing is like it seems and thinking and acting out of the box.
Maybe it would be a cool idea to watch Katy's discography/videography chronologically by eras, since you can see the evolution from her first album One of the boys which is more pop/rock, to Teenage dream which is bubblegum pop, to Prism which has radio hits and Witness which has a more futuristic pop sound. You should start with I kissed a girl which was a single that launched her pop star career. ;) great reaction

I think, this almost hypnotic beat/sound of the vid/song is also a sign, that we are all chained to the rhythm. Listening to this incredible song and rhythm, not seeing, what´s behind the fence.
Chained to the Rhythm was release during the elections as a critic about our society and how people with their perfect lives only care about themselves and refuse to think outside of their boxes. In all performances Katy did at that time she did political statements and the whole Witness era kinda flopped cause conservative people were mad with her for making songs about politics.
Same with Madonna..

I think this song/video is less about indulging narrow interests and more about indulging in escapism in the face of large societal problems.
This video is one of my Katy Perry favorites, it's fun and colorful, but at the same time dark and mysterious ... I wish there was a continuation.

I like this video and the meanings behind the purposeful visuals but for some reason I was more taken a back by the lyric video for this.

@@SuperJersh It's kind of talking about how we're blind to the real problems in the world and we just focus on minor first world issues in our personal lives and we just live through social media, being selfish, only caring about yourself and praising yourself and your life on social media (like Instagram) hence the bubbles. It also kind of relates to the election of populist figures in politics, how this shows that we all live in these bubbles... The video actually has a lot of details and every time you watch it you discover new things related to this theme :)

There isn't a continuation, but it was definitely ended with that unfinished feel on purpose. She's not always a great actor, but I do think she got pretty close with that ending. Clearly we're supposed to be very disturbed by it, as her character was.

@Lewis Perry Yes, I didn't know that at the time. But the fact is that Sia has a gift when it comes to melodies. The lyrics and the idea may be Katy Perry's, but the melody is definitely Sia's. She also co-wrote the Song "Hey Hey Hey" and "Double Rainbow"
In mu personal opinion this song was more about upper social classes ignoring hate crimes and poverty bc they live in their own bubble, rather than personal comfort zone bubbles.
This song and video was not welcomed by the masses. people mocked her song and video by accusing her of being “fake woke”... but the song and video it gathers relevance and volume as we move forward with nowadays.
