    The standard is to edit the field recorder audio on tracks 1-4, the other tracks are temp and fx. No need to bother with the other EDLS.

      Hi Tony, thanks for the comment. That may be the case that you've seen but having worked with editors around the world I have seen plenty of edits where the picture editor has edited location audio on audio track 5 and above. However, now that most NLE's are able to export EDLs containing more than 4 audio tracks this isn't so much of a concern. The main issue now is that editors are going above A24 which EdiLoad currently can't read.

      There are many circumstances in which you'll want more than 4 tracks - many complex scenes would be a huge pain to cut with isos 4 tracks if your production mix isn't great.

      This video was created 6 years ago for EdiLoad v3. EdiLoad v5 now has it's own assembly window that doesn't require the Pro Tools field recorder workflow and simplifies the whole process.
