Please carry to teaching the masses to better understand the politics of South Africa especially since we're approaching 2024 so that when we vote, a good number of our citizens take well informed decisions.

Pen.... may your voice become louder and reach further because you will influence change in a country we all love. Through my journey, i've learnt that skin colour doesn't differentiate people, it's culture and the more we integrate, the more we understand, the more we accept each other. No one gets to choose who or where we are born into. So we can only go forward and focus on changing what's in front of us. Knowledge is power and education is the key as we unite to transform our amazing Rainbow nation!

One of the most important points to remember is that your vote needs to be for a party who you believe will be better than ANC. We are losing our best minds of all races to other countries. We need to build something that makes them believe that they have a better future here.

After seeing this, I'm now decided on who I want to vote for in 2024, thanks to Rob for that. Last time I voted ANC was 2004 in the time of Mbeki when the economy was growing at around 5% a year. Its been downhill ever since & here we are now with new political parties that give true hope.
God forbid if ANC wins 2024 & 2029, we'd see a huge revolt from everywhere & thats all been my thinking lately, that we're headed for a civil war.
But I see your's & Rob's views are valid & appreciated so there's HOPE after all.

I am so appreciative of this informative conversation that alot of people are afraid to have, I hope that this content reaches as many South Africans as possible for us to make the right decision in 2024.
I think this whole thing of the race card no longer works because today's generation see's beyond the race. What ever happened before 1994 tought us lessons and surly we will never forget that, but I think our country is at a point where we can move past that and build our country together. ANC will always want to use apartheid as a scapegoat for their short comings and holding us rensome to not vote for other political parties and guess what I don't think that card works with today's generation.

The Black Pen 🖤 at it again, love it. I like you have transcended race and ethnicity.
In South Africa we have a culture of "vote and spectate". The talk of who will be our president is very childish, because a president is just a figurehead. We're obsessed with it because we're looking for a saviour, someone to take us to the promised land and the sooner we abandon that dependency mentality, the better.
The real people that do the work are in the departments reporting to mangers and DGs, and those that are in private and civil rights organizations.
I still cannot fathom that the DA's track record went over people's heads. Their municipalities have been getting clean audits for more that a decade. Clearly people vote with their emotions and not their heads. Hence we have the CapeExit/ Cape Independence Movement.

The problem is much deeper, these guys have to show that they have changed in the private sector. (That's tough as capitalism ensures dog eat dog). A few token appointments is not good enough. Fair play about the useless government but what about improved minimum wages and bursaries for brilliant kids of their employees. They have to create a climate like in Europe of dignified wages, affordable quality living spaces etc. I worked in corporate South Africa and saw same game played by the ANC there. Not all of us are silly enough believe are a few wise words. Integrity above all else is what South African leadership lacks. Those Apartheid leaders might have been as Fascist as hell but they had integrity and delivered to their base. That's why the Nats never lost since 1948. Anyway great interview and good to see positivity from one of SA's top brass.

I'm now convinced he doesn't care about pro poor policies cause these are communist inclined and he goes for DA as the beacon of hope anc they are pro middle class. I think most people agree that cANCer must go away and this is definitely necessary and urgent. My concern is that as voters and non-voters we have not yet really taken the time to stop and think of how exactly we have participated in the mess that we are in. 1 those who do not vote are contributing significantly in the problems that SA has . 2 Those who continued to vote for the cANCer even though the signs were more and more becoming clear that this party is failing the nation are also very much responsible for this disaster. 3 The way it is so easy to manipulate the masses is another major contributing factor that for some reason we are scared to talk about. The conversation was great however, I think its important that we should also understand that the four things that Rob Hersov mentioned (Governance, Education, Security (Crime) & Employment) are important however, the land issue is just as important to unlock the full potential of this country.

  • @fortunetshabalala534

Great conversation, I agree that we should focus on the good people as a starting point, and these good people should be drawn from various political parties, to ensure that they yield the synthesis.
So, keep the door open for all good people (and not just for good people from the DA), they should come from the EFF, ATM, BLF, PAC as much as from the DA, PA, ActionSA, VF Plus then at least, we can hold one another accountable...because we will bring forth narratives of opposing constituencies.
The sum of those little (and opposing) constituencies is actually the closest reflection to the beast called South Africa, so in a Nutshell, no one (or very few) will then be left out.

Fucking LOVE This!!! I have so many questions... Why is big business so quiet? The country is burning and so many heavy investors are just quiet, in a country that could burst at any second. South Africa is imploding. Capitalism has failed dismally in South Africa, however, I am for capitalism. The fact that we aren't integrated, the most unequal society with the highest unemployment rate on the fucken planet... What the fuck is wrong with these highly educated people? We've had brain drains since 1985 in this country... What the fuck!!!

Because even chaos is highly profitable. The key is just to keep the frogs (population) boiling at an even temperature without them realising and reacting (civil war)

Business has nothing to lose. Business in south africa is actually having more investment in non tangible business, banking, IT etc. Things that even when civil war burst tomorrow, they wont lose a thing, but just takes their investments and systems somewhere else. The poor will always lose in a pure capitalistic system, communism isnt a solution though. we need more practical philosophies

The Game is rigged. Watch Gary Stevenson, Trader explaining why we need to change not only the Governments, but the system . We all understand that it is outrageous that so many South Africans Live in absolute poverty. Anyone damaging state property should be put to work for the benefit of the state. We need Infrastructure development on a huge scale. It's not hard, but you cannot have a government raping the nation's coffers together with Corporate South African desperate silence.

Loved the conversation but I think why DA works is because it represents privilege people who understands Governance and aware of their rights and constitution. It is easy to manage suburbs than to manage townships. DA's work is to maintain affluent neighborhoods hence they are struggling in townships. Rob is a good man who still needs to work on his bias because EFF (Black) is as the result of DA(white) so this parties are the same they serve the interest of race.

This was a healthy CONVERSATION, THANK YOU. We need more of such conversations, and more from Rob and other business leaders. I and a lot of people I know are sick of the ANC.

Rob has just made me fall in love with EFF even more!! I’m glad to know that they are not captured and funded by anyone. And I’m glad he spoke about the event when Malema was in London, which clearly proves that Renwick or any of those men who were there, never convinced Julius of anything… JULIUS HASN’T SOLD OUT!! Thank you, Rob!! Andile Mngxitama, Kenny Kunene and McKenzie lied to the country about that London event, but it’s obvious because they were not there!!

Beyond Julius being captured. I just appreciate that Rob tries so much to dismiss the impact of the EFF in the current geopolitical sphere. Denying the huge growth and impact of the EFF is pure stupidity, They are a force to be reckoned with, whether he likes it or not, and the There will be no coalition to outst the ANC without the cooperation with the EFF. Anyone one who believes they can do without the EFF, Are just pure ludicrous. I am conviced PA is also funded by white monopoly capitalists.
