    How long does this process from step cell to sperm cell - take? Ive heard that the production of a sperm cell takes about 90-100 days- but which part takes that long?

    Hi there! At about min 10:45, you mentioned that during M2, the haploid cells split into spermatids. Just wanted to clarify because I understand most meiosis diagrams show that DNA duplication occurs in M1 only but it seems that in Spermatogenesis, DNA duplication occurs in M2 instead of M1? Hence, in M2, the haploid cells can split without halving the number of chromosomes?
