Not to mention huawei are not using the best lens in the industry due to sanction. All their lens are 2-3years behind the other competitor, also they using last gen chips which also cause them abit of video quality too.
I had a Huwawei P30 Pro and loved it so so much now will definitely upgrade to Huwawei P60

This is how comparison videos should be made, covering every aspect, in detail, and unbiased. Regarding the cameras, I think it's safe to say that there is no better one (leaving out the Xiaomi's front one), because they all have their ups and downs. However, even though they're the latest and best models of each brand, the iPhone is one generation behind here (more like half a generation, I'd say). It basically depends on each person's preference. Anyway, it's nice to see how far smartphone cameras have reached.

Huawei is an OG? Outside of China no one really buys them as Chinese products in general have a reputation of being really cheap, and in alot of cases, knock offs. I'd say the true OG contenders are Samsung, Apple, Motorola, Nokia, Blackberry (RIP) and Windows Phone (RIP). Besides that no one can be considered OG.

You should leave night mode OFF on P60 Pro, color balance is much better and photos are more than plenty bright, also, when it comes to macro, you didn't show Huawei's capabilities with zoom lense macro mode which is absolutely insane.

Huawei surprised me but also didn't guess its place on the top of the rankings is justified. As far as the color tones, that is an easy fix as a quick edit for tone on the phone can get that perfect but getting the detail and quality can't be added post shot on the others phones. Can be fixed with update easily as well

Excellent comparison! The tenors that are Samsung and Apple really have an interest in sending heavy when the release of their next flagship... Huawei being ousted from the top 3 for obscure reasons must optimize his last flagship in a few areas, but what a potential ! Competition becomes serious ... and I don't even talk about other Chinese brands less focused on the global... It's time to react because Xiaomi which matures year after year in quality on the global market is a steamroller, and there is not even 4K front on the 13U so let's imagine with... the margin of progress is phenomenal. The Samsung's microphone set-up still impresses me immensely. The iPhone is a close 2nd but the Galaxy just sounds like, it's not a phone, but more like a Zoom recorder etc.

Exactly what i observed on a friend s23 ultra: 10x zoom is just ok. Just a little bit better than an 10x from the main camera. I'm impressed by Huawei that didn't need Leica to obtain great results. Xiaomi has took a big step forward also. Apple is the the one that i wouldn't touch at all. Nothing impressed me.
...iPhone not even video? That seems like a troll to me, as it clearly is right at the top of the video though not as far ahead as before. Then again, the iPhone is from 2022 versus the 2023 new releases.

Yeah you typically don't need night mode with the RYYB sensors. You would only use it when it's extreme lowlight.

@@euphonium1406 In Slovnia a lot of people use Huawei phones, as an owner of the P50 Pro, having no Google services is not an issue at all. Every single app can be used and downloaded with just as much ease as with my previous Samsung S10, and the Huawei does it all better.

Thanks for the comparison! Great video Nick! Definitely each phones have strength & weaknesses, For me overall, I would choose Huawei P60 pro since it have variable aperture & the amazing moon shot mode but in some scenarios I do prefer the others.
You had to use S23 Ultra's 50MP mode instead of the 200MP, because the former is better with HDR, especially at harsh lighting conditions.
he will probably get it fixed next time... 200 mp as i see is better on manual mode.
@@paulogazolla7488 You cant use 200 mp in manual, only 50mp in Pro ( Manual) and 12 or 50Mp in Expert Raw. But, if you tweak the exposure with 200 mp tapping the screen, you can fix some issues with contrast

Huawei impresses me alot. Not a big fan at start
Now i have p40 only. I never experienced any lags on the fone. Fast data internet on the phone and i can attest how better their updates are. I wasnt uaing my cam for a long time. Thats why i was impressed when one time I used it to capture me and my partner's date. I was totally blown how the updates made the freakin fone more amazing! I couldn't believe it. It was like it's the first time I was uaing my huawei p40 😅. Even my partner was amazed. Raw fotos were spectacular! Its running 4 years now but im still inlove with my p40. No changing! Hahaha.

Great Camera Comparison!!.. The Xiaomi beats the Samsung in its own USP, all this while, of Zoom capabilities!!!.. 😂.. Never expected this frankly!..
Xiaomi certainly had different tones than others which makes it look unnatural side by side with the competition but has more focus on the subject detail..
The selfies is where Xiaomi lags behind though it isnt a big deal for many like me..
Somehow iPhone ended being the 4th overall in this comparo with the Android competition catching up & bettering it quite comfortably in most situations!

Thanks, Xiaomi13ultra was the best for me, I would use the Leica color mode though, not sure if it works in pro mode too but raws can fix something. There is also hdr raw on xiaomi and 50mp on 4 cameras, 8K on 4 too, as a photographer, I could care less about auto mode then...
For auto in low res I think the Sony sits the best with me, but since I want a better reach and resolution on all cameras, xiaomi is better then.

All look amazing with their pros and cons. It's like comparing very similar luxury cars with their own special features.
iphone is the no doubt the worst among this bunch. I would argue both vivo x90 pro+ and oppo x6 pro are better than xiaomi, which just doesn't seem to care much about finetuning their algorithm. Huawei looks overall the best to me and its design is most appealing too.
I think that reviews should do comparisons of photos when the person is facing , giving his back or his side to the sun I think it is a major player in the quality of pictures and people do know about this when posing , it will help test the cameras precisely

Huawei actually takes better photos at night with out using night mode. Night mode should be named hdr night mode. With out night mode it would beat the rest of competition.

well, I am assuming the Huawai P60 Pro has pro photo mode just like my P30 pro, and you can manually adjust color temperature there. So I don't really see the problem with too much warmth as you can easily avoid that. I am also surprised how terrible the iPhone is at photography, especially when the video recordings looks so good.
Since June update for S23U there is now option for 2x for portrait mode on main sensor.

It shows good: The Samsung zoom capabilities are overrated all over the internet. So much noise when you zoom 10x in not optimal lighting. I've had thew same experience with the S21U back in the days. I have many situations where even my 2 year old Mate 40 Pro beats my S23U in 10x zoom shots with less noise and better details. Only under optimal lighting situations, the S23U zoom is great. I use the S23U as my daily driver since release (I love the video capabilities and batterylife), the Mate 40 Pro since 2 years as a second device and I switch also from time to time to the Pixel 7 pro. I've had the iphone 14 pro on the release for 3 months, but even it is reliable, it is so boring for my personal taste and not very handy with the sharp edges. I like the Xiaomi 13 Ultra main camera, but everything else is not worth the price (software, updates, front camera, videos). The Xperia 1 V will expensive, but different and fun, when I get it in June as someone who likes full manual controls and the best in class autofocus for fast moving subjects and especially Sony's eye autofocus for animals and humans.
I know what you're saying I also complain a lot about how noisy the camera is I've tried the GCam and i quite like the results I'm getting, much better than the stock cam! I also tried the oppo the vivo and even the iPhone and to me they do take better photos in most scenarios! But the s23ultra is just the better phone overall ! Perfect phone for every user
What a great review of phone cameras. I will get the P60, not only the camera is not bad, but for 4815mA battery, 88W wire rapid charge 50W wireless charge, harmony system not watched, listened and traced by the big brother, direct Beidou satellite connect SMS globally.
