There is a CZcamsr from "back in the day" (maybe 10 years ago) that did something similar with individual satin strips. She would just cut them up from fabric from the fabric store. It would be even better because you can do the top and it wont be flat. But this came out lovely still!
I saw a video some time ago where the lady used a different material in strips. The fabric was silk like so it left moisture in her hair. She had beautiful waves. Great video. Really enjoyed this.

It turn out beautiful. If you search old videos, people use to buy ribbon cut it to the desired length and double. The ribbon was the two ends and your hair was in the center for the braid.

Love this! I saw this product recently and decided to look up vids to see how it's used. So glad I found this vid!! I love using the 2 strips as parts of a braid instead of just the basic wrap around the strips.

Next time to make the textures blend (the roots that weren’t wrapped vs the length) you should try flat twisting the roots
