@@zinox9262 its really not. why would I ever choose a Jumbo over a Tiger II or Super Pershing? Its worse in almost every way except maneuverability, and in uptiers it doesn't even have that. Theres really nothing at this BR that a normal Sherman 76 couldn't do except maybe bounce a few shots before getting slammed by an 88 through the UFP.

It's worse to be against the Soviets and British at 7.3 than the Germans. You come around the corner and you see T-54s, IS-3s and full Stabilized Cents with APDS. Not to mention the IFVs at 7.3 which don't care about your armor at all either...
The jumbo is a fantastic tank, and it looks plenty trolly still even at the higher BR
Relies on TERRIBLE enemies though.
This is for all intents and purposes a sherman with a platecarrier vest that shoots a shell first seen in the M10 at 3.3 and it faces everything from Leopards and BMP-1s to T-54s and Caernarvons.

In truth brawlers in good hands can run hands well in a 5v1 gank, and that's OP to people who take the tiger H1 or tiger 2p within 150m of the enemy team

@@thebravegallade731 T-44 was actually developed during WW2, but the Soviets figured improving the T-34 are more efficient since T-44 didn't offer significant improvements (at that time). It's similar to Centurion, developed during WW2 but is essentially a post-war tank.

I don't think it's the armor that makes it powerfull, it's the short stabilizer as with almost all Shermans. But kinda insane how the 76 Jumbo can now face a T-54 1949 in an uptier.
at 6.3 the jumbos armor is terrible. the front plate on the normal 75 jumbo is great because at 5.3 they need to hit the mg port but at 6.3? Tiger 2 P can easily pen its front plate no weakspots

tiger 2 is fun and good but that weakspot is extremely annoying, you dont really have a chance of living if penned unlike some other, spacious heavies
I've survived multiple shots from Tiger 2s and things a br higher, all you gotta do is angle and disable, its good at close combat, urban maps. Its like most USA tanks just with more armor. (Hope this information helps) Wait im a year late, oh

One more thing to mention, is how crazy agile this tank is.. It always surprises me, it is as fast as a medium. I have a slight suspicion something is off with either the HP or the weight of this vehicle.
I recently started playing the jumbo 76 and I'm in love with it. The stock accuracy of the 76mm M1 is mediocre at best but once you get the adjustment of fire module, its a beast.

yes its, aim the upper edge of the upper front plate or the turret. If he angle, aim the tracks. belive me, is more hard to kill a panther in a sherman 76 than a jumbo in a panther
Yeah if it angles at you just shoot the lower plate behind the tracks then Sherman go boom. I get so happy when I see these in my tiger h1 because I know I'm in for a firework show. Unless they're a decent player then its track and barrel torture for me.
Problem is your average Panther and Tiger player (including II) is level 10.

@@heyedu8784 The problem is if the Jumbo is slightly angled you can't pen him anymore with the Panther . It's just a little bit and your shell won't pen , I always went for MG port . That works on an angle too .

I remember when i had to regularly face the 75 Jumbo in my 3M back in the day, thats why to this day i feel no mercy for jumbo players, even after i bailed from germany years ago and started maining China and knowing how absurdly high their current br is

I honestly think the 76mm Jumbo should be at 5.7. The reason is because it uses the same gun as the other Shermans but with slightly better armor.
The Jumbo has to be angled for a round to bounce and when you do that, the bow gunners machine gun is a huge weak spot and when you angle, they can just shoot the side and it will go straight through.
And the 76 Jumbo at 6.3 gets up tiered quite a bit and the players at 6.3 already know where to hit the jumbo so it would go straight through anyway. To bounce a round from a Tiger II, you have to angle the jumbo so much that the side is exposed and you have to hope they will hit the one spot that it will bounce.
The Tiger II(H) cannot be penned by the 76mm Jumbo point blank anyway, so I dont get why they match them up together 75% of the time.
The Tiger H1 is at 5.3 and bounces almost every round thrown at it when angled and it is extremely hard to pen the armor when it does so. The Tigers also have an 88mm gun and more armor than the jumbo, so the Tiger H1 and E BR should be increased to 5.7-6.0 while the 76mm jumbo is reduced to 5.7.
It is just overall useless when matched up against German and Russian vehicles at 6.3.
Even the 75mm jumbo can be easily penned at 5.3. They shouldnât increase the BR by 1.0 for a better gun.
Yes I play a lot with Jumbo ,the Tiger II is a real nightmare to face
I had a game with the 75 jumbo, where I got 2-3 kills, then kept moving, only to spot about 4-5 enemies right in front of me. None of them ever managed to kill me, I got shot at least 20 times, nobody aimed for the mg port... Meanwhile I was just shooting at whoever I could pen and ended up killing like 4 of them (but more came after)... I literally ran out of ammo..

HOW do you make your ingenious thumbnails? They all look so real, like straight out of War Thunder 4k and I can't seem to find "editing spots".
He puts his second image on top of the source so it's as close as possible to a straight line and then makes the connecting edges slightly opaque. It gives it a very close feel to the original image but if you've done it before you can see where he does it. Atleast that's what it looks like to me.

Tons of weird uptiers in the first two matches, killed a Hetzer, 4.0 Pz. IVs, 4.0 range AAA in the first 6.3 match. Killed 5.3 Panthers in the 7.3 match.

What is funny, YT'ers (not just Phly) have to put a 7.3 tank on to play 7.3 with a 6.3 tank. I would put a 7.3 on and get an 8.3 game every game. Even with the 6.3 tank, I would get a 7.3 game every game. Percentage wise for me, upteirs are now 90%. Used to be 75%, but not any more. That match maker is gold.

Day 1: Phly can you please play the jumbo 75mm I keep getting slaughtered while Iâm in it and I need to learn how to use it
Few tips:
Keep your front towards the enemy, the side of your hull behind your track is very thin.
Corners and debris that hide your sides are your friend, you can use them to angle your hull around a corner and peak.
Learn weakpoints, your cannon is very weak for your BR.
Shoot tigers in their coupula
Shoot panthers in their cheek, APCR is good for this as it lets you easily kill the gunner and commander in one shot
And in general most tanks, especially soviet ones can be killed frotnally by shooting their cheeks where it's the flattest
additional tips:
*Shoot at the cupola with explosive filler shells. Dont shoot the panthers cupola. Soviets cupola is slightly harder to shoot than tigers but it can be done.
*The jumbo have a stab so dont stop moving to make them harder to shoot your weak spot (lower side, bow gunner, turret ring).
Always keep moving. Never stop. The moment you stop moving, your bow gun takes a 88mm through and you die. Like Phly said, urban is best. Since the main 4 tanks you face that give trouble are Panthers, Tigers, T-34-85s, and IS-1/2s, I'll go in that order.
Panthers: Barrel first, always. Tracks next. On the 5.3 Panther, you can go through the cupola, take the shot and it kills the turret. If you can't flank, wait for crew replacement and hit it again for the kill.
Tiger1s: Same thing, barrel first. The Tiger's barrel has the tendency to eat the entire round with the muzzle break. Next is the tracks, again. Also on the 5.3 Tiger, go for cupola, it takes out turret crew, and if you're lucky, the drive or breach. If you cant hit tracks, just go for cupola anyway. You can use APCR if you're up close and its flat on, but it's too inconsistent. I've shot a driver 3 times with APCR. And it got me killed because I was focusing on him.
T-34-85s: Depending on the type, the first one is easy. It can't pen you from the front except the mg port. Go for turret cheeks or neck, or even cupola. The later one gives a bigger issue, since it can pen your front plate. Take out barrel on him first, or just go straight for the turret neck, since it's almost always a 1 shot.
IS-1/2: imo, these are the hardest to kill. Same with the above, CUPOLA SHOTS. If you're close enough, you can sometimes get through the lower plate on IS-1. You can also go through the turret cheeks. For the IS-2, side shots and cupola is basically the only way to kill it. It has better armor than tigers in the front, and the turret is extremely trolly, even if you're shooting it in the back.
For everything else, just shoot it, they're not much of a threat. And a tip, ammo count doesn't matter in the 75. All the ammo is stored in the bottom of the hull, allowing you to carry full ammo easily. If you get ammo racked, you were going to die anyway bc they can either pen your front or they're at your side. My standard load is 20 APCR, 20 smoke, and the rest APHE. The 5 second reload on a decently leveled crew makes it extremely good at getting follow up shots.
@@volatile100 actually you can pen IS-2's turret cheek with the APCBC round on Jumbo... may not be one shot sometime but it will guarantee a breach damage
@@amjadioner_8860 I know that you can in *theory*, but I've found to to usually get eaten by either the optics or the MG. I've had more luck with shooting tiger 1s from the front than I ever ha e with IS-2s. Same thing with using the Sherman 76s against panthers. You can go right through the mantlet, but I've seen it just get eaten far too many times. Thanks volumetric.

Played Warthunder for the first time today, loved it until I got my Panzer III J, then all the matches afterwards my teams were literally braindead, so braindead that a friendly bomber dropped a bomb on me. Other than that i think I will play it tomorrow.

it really does, if you are experienced and have played the US, USSR and Germany tree a lot, you will noticed German players are just on average much worse than the other nations. They also expect to be invincible while one shooting anything so when that does not happen they complain. I bet too many brand new players go straight to Germany, they have no experience. If they played better they would realize the Jumbo is pretty similar to having to fight an angled tiger as a regular Sherman 76. You need to aim for weak spots or disarm it first you can't just be brain dead and point and click. The Panthers are pretty much my favorite tanks now. Not as flexible and agile as the shermans but they make up for it with a great gun and good armor. Shermans are free kills for a good player in a panther or a tiger. A good Sherman player will snack on bad German players though.
Now bring back the locust and fix the fâd up mid tier air tech tree snail company
Since jumbo 76 was at 6.0 it recieved 2 major buffs, almost +30mm pen (it had just ~120mm pen point blank originally) and stabiliser.
Favourite thing in the game is to smite Sherman 76 jumbos with my British sabot, because they always over extend.
Phly you should hear what Bradleyâs sound like irl. They are loud as shit, the Abrams runs and moves with less noise.

I like how Phly can deduct the exact model of the tank, the personal information of the crews, from the different sounds different tanks make. And here I am, not even knowing that tanks made different sounds
play with a quality headset, they have drasticly different noises and you can hear certain tanks just by their track sound and even where they are and come from which is a great advantage in urban combat.
