I am building this small house so that I can stay on my property where I'm building the main log cabin from big round logs. Judging from the structure of the cabin, its structure is very complete, and the stove is installed very carefully and is well built, which deserves praise.
What an extraordinary young man you are, your detail to craftsmanship is amazing to watch. The building of the window in your winter cabin was just outstanding, the making of the shutters another triumph! Likewise the engineering of the fire flue and all the pipework. All small details that set your skills above most others. It’s just a shed that you’re going to use over winter but you still bothered to show your skills you bothered to put details into its build. Your videos give a sense of quiet fulfilment, the viewer knows that the job is going to be completed to a high standard, that we are witnessing an excellent eye for construction and woodcraft. I grew up building houses with my dad and brothers. Rarely did we wear gloves as they would let things slip and hard to handle nails. Cold weather sometimes made it necessary. 😊

Beautiful work, and beautiful scenery! The terrain looks quite similar to to Pennsylvania (USA) where I live. Trees, rocks, and rolling hills/mountains.

Great stuff Matthias. I've been away (working) for a couple of weeks and so didn't watch your video from 2 weeks ago until I got back home. I would rather watch on my desktop monitor than on a little phone screen. So I have just watched it, plus this latest one. Very nice indeed. Things are moving along well. You'll soon be in full flow. Only a month till Spring. Already the tree buds are swelling and the songbirds are flitting about, preparing to nest-build. I will keep following.

When I see this, I am humble old men. No matter what age 13 to the main age, we must learn our Craftsman skill more than ever seeing this. I think we are dying of this. This loss of a crash meant we all must achieve to greatness as a Craftsman to learn this great wisdom.
You are off to a good start young as you are . While your contemporaries idle their life away with mundane and needless interests/ concerns, you are honing life skills that none can take from you. I have high hopes for you.
Nicely done overall. My dad would have approved. A question is whether there's enough roof pitch. I would have suggested polycarbonate for superior strength of the window instead of acrylic.

Try holding the hammer nearer the end of the handle and using your wrist more to lift and strike it is more accurate gives more power to each blow and is less tiring on the arms
Nice work man! I read your description and you essentially lay out exactly what I want to do! My problem is, I live here in Oregon and decent land is out the wazoo in pricing. I really don't want to move out of Oregon but I know places like the southern United States are cheaper. Right now I'm focusing on filmmaking as a career until I can afford enough money to buy the land I want and build a cabin, movie theater house and workshop/set space to continue my passion of film-making. It'll happen on the Lord's time, so I'm not concerned but I do hope it's sooner rather than later. Subscribed :)
If you fill in the floor space under the small house it will keep your feet warm, one place we lived in had only the floor boards and the air was so cold from that, because you've got the floor down try filling in the gap outside around the house. Its a beautiful house tho great job
Thank you very much. It is true. I tried to save as much money as possible so I decided to skip the insulation. It's a house that I'm only staying in temporarily until I finish the main cabin. I spend whole days outside and I will mainly eat and sleep in this house. I made the floor in such a way that if the cold from the floor is a problem after all, the boards can be lifted and the insulation can be put there additionally.
@@MattJacob1 that’s good that the floor can be lifted, I seen a guy take pine branches heavy with foliage and he put those under his floor for insulation he put lots down, it would have been a good idea for a pine smell through the cabin. Anyway good luck with it all its a very lucky start for one so young don’t get sick of it its something you will always have to fall back on its so important.
This is a very nice video. At least there is a good progress. Small Cabin Interior is still very much expected. May be there could be some "how you are living over there" scenes added. Just building will be boring after a while. Thank you for sharing with us your experience.
It is true that these are not ridge tiles for this type of use, but I already have experience from the past that it will last in these conditions. So no need to worry.

I’m fairly sure that the roof ridge tiles are set incorrectly.
It is true that these are not ridge tiles for this type of use, but I already have experience from the past that it will last in these conditions. So no need to worry.
