Dmax Rnd 10 Final Sandown Park 2018
start 7th finish 10th.
The last race of 2018 2 drivers have a chance of winning the overall sprint championship they are both on the front row but on the formation lap one of those drivers stops with a kart issue we do more formation laps as the race director decides he should get a fresh kart and retake his position on the front row.
I did have a outside chance of getting 3rd overall in the championship with a good day of racing but I haven't have great races so far except heat 2 so I needed more people to have bad luck this race but I get boxed in at the start and lose out I try a late braking move at the end of the back strait but as the track is now cold and even with extra formation laps my tyres are still cold and I slide wide and lose places but even after that I don't have any speed and struggle with no grip from the tyres I can't get any heat into them and can only finish in 10th.
Congrats to Bobby the driver who stoped on the formation lap as he went on to win the race and the 2018 sprint championship.
so I dropped down to 6th I think overall in the sprint championship but I did finish 2nd overall in the endurance championship so 2018 wasn't too bad and I have won 11 yes ( Eleven ) Dmax championships over the years so I can't complain.
Thanks to all the Daytona staff and all the other drivers who raced in 2018 for another good year of racing.
Daytona say they are not doing the championship in 2019
we don't know what there plans are after that.
