In a conceptual design study, Nucor and Magnusson Klemencic Associates (MKA) compared the construction of a 40-story office building with typical load conditions using different materials.
When you compare Aeos to other options, such as concrete, there was a 20% savings in material weight. High-strength structural steel gives designers the ability to build bigger and bolder. That includes big benefits for strength-controlled elements like columns. You can reduce the quantity without losing any of the strength, which can result in big cost savings for your clients.
Using Aeos steel saved approximately 23 weeks of construction time in the model, and the building gained 5,000 square feet of usable space - giving you extra real estate.
Since steel doesn’t require formwork, there was a material, schedule, and project savings, plus a better environmental impact.
