Our first "Real" video! Here Potato highlights the important fundamentals of flight when BPG flys around in our Rotor Wind Aircraft. The DCS Huey is great! Both the flight model and damage model are fantastic and provide the correct amount of challenge for a novice pilot. More experienced members will note the Huey's advantage in agility but disadvantage in speed. 120 Knots seems fast..but the Hind can do 350 (188 Knots) KPH and the Hip around 300 (161 Knots) KPH. Hope you learned something valuable. Remember to be patient and take your time when practicing. This will all help alleviate stress in the combat area.

Nice video and I'm not bashing you. I have a X56 Stick Throttle and Rudder peddles I have used them from the start and I am Truly happy with them. I know lots of people Bash on them But The one I got is Golden. I have Just as fine of Micro Movement in my stick with No implied crazy control spot people talk about. The truth is even the 500 dollar Cam system ends up hooked to a Spring. I can fly from what I have seen just as good as you with my X56. That is a Complement to you Sir. I just feel the X56 System gets the crap kicked out of it because It does have downsides Like ALL do but they CAN be overcome if You take the time to ask people what they have done to over come them. Anyway I an writing this because I enjoyed your Video. Just wanted to say this with Deep Respect to you for Your Video and agree with everything other then your thoughts on the X56. It is a shame because it is IMO A Good Unit for Huey Flying. I love my X56.

The x56 is a great piece of gear. Theres a reason we still have them as our primary HOTAS. I only was referencing the community's divided opinions on Logitech and their gear. Both bacon and I use logitech HOTAS and RP. Glad you enjoyed. I'm hoping that new pilots, with the Apache coming out soon, are able to learn and enjoy their flying as much as we do. Cheers!

how do you get so much speed in the helicopter. usually when I'm flying I'm going super slow

Speed in any helicopter encompasses many factors. Here, we were light. There were no guns or rocks loaded, no crew members, and very little fuel (30%). Additionally, in the upper left-hand corner, you can see that we are pulling the full amount of collective for the Huey. Balancing the power left in the turbine, with the temperature of the exhaust, we can reach the full potential power pull with the collective in the Huey and then achieve a top speed of 120 knots and above. Another recommendation is to trim the aircraft when in forward flight. This will help you stabilize the helicopter as you can pull more power and have more forward control of the aircraft. Enjoy and good luck pilot! Practice practice practice! We have new CSAR Videos of us flying the Huey at night in combat and landing in fields and orchards. Maybe something from those videos will also help you see something we are doing that you can add to your flying! Cheers!
