2008? It was built in 1987 within a very short time, to host the All -Africa games. Played there in the 90s. It's been that way since inception.

Were fans cheering for both teams equally? Or it Kenyans vs "Kenyans"? Who is home and who is away? Or are both teams home?
Kenya was the home team. There's a HUGE immigrant and refugee population from South Sudan living in Kenya. Naturally they flocked to the stadium in large numbers. Kenyans are too busy hustling and won't easily be swayed to commute to the stadium for an evening game. They were outnumbered by the Sudanese fans. Same thing happens whenever there's a Kenya vs Somali game in Nairobi. The immigrants, plus Kenyan Somalis (that support Somali) will outnumber the Kenyan fans.

Methinks it's a very good nickname. Morans are virile Maasai warriors that love jumping contests. Similar to jumping in basketball. The Maasai are famous worldwide for preserving their culture, and are very symbolic to Kenya (and Tanzania). Would you rather the team was nicknamed Wanainchi Stars, or something like that? The Stars name is cliche in Kenya now.

It’s so weird watching all black players, playing defense and team ball. And the best thing I seen, the white team got fouled and the green team player fell down. The white team member didn’t want to fight but instead he helped the player up. Wow it is possible to watch good basketball today without being a wannabe tough guy. Great game and good for all these guys.
