Got mine for $55.00, bought two pairs by Danner one pair of Temperate rating in 12 wide and a 12 Regular uninsulated from eBay. Both pair have the Globe and Anchor impressed on heels. These are great hunting boots and the soles use a better lug style than my first issued boots in Army Basic Training in 1962. I like these better than the current Army issue boots! The Marines have just began to issue a new “improved” combat boot making these obsolete. Love the boots! Forgot: Speed lacing and paracord laces.
Even though these have the Gore-Tex waterproof lining on the inside, the longevity of these boots would greatly increase from waterproofing the shit out of the leather (not with the dumb spray, but with some legit leather waterproof dressing, like Pecard’s) as well as adding some Boot Saver toe guards.
You can get Danner‘s RAT boot for just a 100 bucks nowadays, also you got the leather all wrong. The Danners have a Nubuck, which is just a smooth leather with the top layer sounded away. Those Bates had a rough out leather, were they only turn the leather around. It‘s not waxxed or anything, just the oher side of the leather which is done on purpose to hide damage. 10:15 Look again buddy, they‘re both on the exact same sides :)
The EGA emblems are supposed to be on the outside of the heel. I think you were just comparing a left boot and right boot. How do you like the MEBs so far?
Honestly some of the best boots iv ever worn in my life. They are my standard boot for pretty much everything. They are very comfy, they breath well and I will be doing another review in the future to see how much wear and tear they hold. I highly suggest them to anyone on the fence about these.
ive got a lot of Danner boots.. im a true 15 W.... i got the 15 W in these, and they do run slightly large length wise, id stick with the Wide fitting though. i could probably go down to 14 1/2. @@vegsmashed

Me too...I had the Panama jungles and Cadillac's back in the early 90's. I got some for work cutting brush. There is no substitute for quality

I have Bates, Belleville's, Rocky's, Garmont's, Haix and Danners. The Danners are the best.
I got a pair of the danner recon (full leather arcadia), the tounges are thick and dig into my shins, these look alot better for a waterproof boot.

have you done a recent update?
Emblems are not in different sides. You were comparing a left and a right boot. Emblems are on the outside on both and all USMC boots
are both waterproof?
