My partner is a huge milk drinker AND very considerate. I try to always have a backup gallon, but even if we have a backup he’ll still leave a literal swig in the first one, out of “not wanting to leave you without milk”. As much as I don’t understand, it’s endearing. It’s a little reminder he’s always thinking of me 😂
I'm laughing because at the beginning of the video when you said cleaning the fridge is a good place to start in order to get the ball rolling I was thinking wow, that would be my project for the day because I also think of things having to be thorough and super deep cleaned! Natalie, Thank you for keeping it real & not cleaning before a video. I have wanted to declutter my sewing / craft room for 2 years, but because of some health issues & surgery, I wasn't able to. 5 1/2 wks ago, my Hubby offered some help if I wanted to get started on the room. It took 5 wks to mostly declutter the tiny 9 x 9 room so my Hubby could paint it & clean the carpet. Now that it is done, we will start organizing & putting things back in my room. It's been a long process, but I'm excited that I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Happy Resurrection weekend & enjoy your trip to Ireland. 😊
In the office room, since you need to be able to get to your things easier what if you did those (I think pax) wardrobe systems from ikea! They could be attached to the wall (safe for you babies) and you could get doors to conceal everything so it can put you at ease! ❤️❤️❤️

That's my guest room right now - the owners where I'm renting have a couple of shelves of stuff they still need to take out of my laundry room so that I can put my stuff there, which will pretty much free up the space in the guest room.

This is my favorite video of yours ever! It made me feel so much better about my doom room! We have a similar set up where we don’t have a functional garage and our sheds are like an acre away. I always feel bad about my clutter especially with some perfectionism on CZcams so seeing that you have a junk room too made me feel so much better and also inspired me to clean ours!

Love the honesty with your office space! I called the room that things like to pile up in my house “the room of doom” as a joke. I finally went through just enough stuff in there for us to be able to have a space for the electric drum set my mother in law bought for us, but it’s still a mess!
Could you put in some floor to high ceiling enclosed storage cabinets along one wall, so things have a formal home?

Love the video! A tip for the homeschool bin cabinet: you might be able to put in some shelves to prevent the bins from falling. If you don't want to go the permanent route, adjustable shelves are fairly easy to put in with a Kreg shelf pin jig. Also doable without the jig and just a little creativity. With your and Weston's DIY skills I know you could do it.

a lot of condiments (like ketchup) don't need to be in the fridge! they do fine in a dark closet or drawer :)

Ireland is absolutely beautiful. I am 1/3 Irish, my grandmother was 100% Irish of course we went to Ireland for vacation lol . There is something about it that speaks to your heart and soul, like it is God's country. May you have a blessed Resurrection Sunday and a wonderful trip❤

“Messy to manageable”
I wonder why the original builders didn't make an attached garage or covered carport to a garage. Especially since you live in Washington. I think newer homes are poorly made as far as actual construction, but I do think they put more thought into function and layout when designing. Have you thought about turning your office window into a glass door? You could have a little patio out there and (i think) a more direct route to the garage.
There are a lot of things we question about this Home! But let’s just say the price was right 😉 and we are enjoying fixing it up.
Yes! One of the first things I ever wrote down in our our plans is to turn the office window into a French door so that we can have a private patio space with a hot tub out there! Someday…

This might sound silly, but you don't have to store your soy sauce in the fridge. If you use periodically (and not yearly), I'd just put it in the pantry. It'll free up fridge space.
This! Weston and I have differing opinions on this subject so I deferred to him keeping it in the fridge lol
@@NatalieBennett It is a highly salty fermented product. Especially if it has any preservatives in it, which almost all modern-use soy sauces do, it'll be fine on your counter or in your pantry. It's really only the really high-end soy sauces that require the fridge.
But you know- if it restrains strife in your marriage- stick that jug in the fridge. Better a prudent wife than have three extra inches of fridge space. (Proverbs 19:14)

What testing program do you use to see what level your kiddos are at?
I continuously evaluate them throughout the year. No specific program. The situation I was talking about in this video was noticing that they were exceeding the subjects skill levels being taught and were ready to jump ahead.
We have our formal evaluation and testing at the end of the year and go through a private teacher who administrates the evaluation.

My husband and I are coming up on our 42nd wedding anniversary next week. He just retired and is recovering from what turned out to be a very rough lower back surgery. Every milestone anniversary, we planned on taking a trip. Each one came and went. For a variety of reasons, we were never able to take any of those trips. Well, we WILL finally be taking a trip in the next 12 months! The trip will be to England, Ireland and Scotland. I'm 61 years old and I am DONE waiting! 😁
My hope is that our 2 sons and their families will be able to join us. I cannot wait to go on our trip across the pond! Safe travels and I hope you enjoy your adventure! ❤

My husband and I were supposed to go to Ireland with our best friends next month but then I had colon cancer surgery in November and I also need a knee replacement. Laury, I just wanted to wish you best of luck in your recovery! I need both knees replaced, so I totally get how impossible it is to join everyone on their bikes and walking excursions. I'm seriously considering nerve ablation for my knees in lieu of 2 complete knee replacement surgeries. It would be sooo nice to join in on the hikes instead of being left behind! Wow, cleaning the frig is one thing I don't like to do! All though we kind of clean out the foods that will go bad before it does. So that's weekly or semi weekly! It's just the 2 of us! I do understand about the clutter. I had 4 kids & and I'd have to go through their stuff every so often, too! I find doing the fridge each week makes it easier. You can move things around to clean the surface they're on and check what's in there❤

My office is also always the landing zone for everything. I am working from home and there are crafts, gifts, my sewing machine, electronics, my work bagpack for when I’m in office… and stuff I want out of the living room quickly or I want to reduce access to for the kids. My office is also really small so it gets full really quickly. I’m working on reducing my fabrics so that I have a regular place for this short-term inventory.
We always buy for a whole week and at the end of the week our fridge is almost empty. I see what needs to be used up and can fetch a cloth to clean without making a mess. Only thing we regularly grow mold on: a jar of olives. We only need a few and eat two times from it and the rest… we try to find smaller packages though.
We also draw names and often gift childcare for the cousins:)
I have the same experience with family members returning an "almost finished" container back! I encourage them to - "Please just finish it!" :)

Simplifying tasks means going from having something perfectly clean 1% of the time and super messy 80% and okay 19% of the time to having it consistently mostly clean all the time.

Yep, heard that too and immediately tried it. It’s been that way ever since. My young kids are able to grab a strawberry, blueberries, grapes, etc so easily.

I try to catch myself when I think something like "I really should xyz" and replace 'should' with 'could'. I am way more at peace and less likely to procrastinate since I started this.

Haha, my husband always opens the new jar before he finishes the little bit left in the old jar, but the old jar still goes back in the fridge too…makes me laugh…whyyy 😂😂
The thing that got me to clean out my fridge was to do it the day before garbage day. I found myself remembering the day of...after garbage people came..nooooo! So, now, every Tuesday I clean the fridge. But, I remove old leftovers and then just move things around like you said, clean around everything and move it back, because I do it weekly, we dont get all the nasty I used to have to deal with. But, this took years of not having a "schedule". I find i dont throw away as much this way.
