The main reason everyone says to go back and listen through certain songs starting at the beginning is so that the references like “Remember back in No Name I said fame called” hit harder. In his song No Name, he said “Fame called me I’m like ‘How you doin?’ Hung up on him, I ain’t ready for it. I’ll get back to that when I make album 4” and this song in on the 4th album. It’s all the little things like that that make his newer music more enjoyable. Regardless, you’ll most likely enjoy every song on this album and we’ll continue to enjoy the reactions, just had to give a little clarity on why it gets pushed to start at the beginning

    • @FlawdTV
      @FlawdTV  Pƙed 3 lety +161

starting at the beginning doesn't give you any faster access to the complete story though so no matter where you start, you will always eventually have your questions answered. Logically there's no reason to start at the beginning because it isn't a movie with chronological spoilers and surprises. It's music where every song is it's own complete piece that when looked at in a grand scheme, tells an even bigger story. People say start from the beginning because they saw someone else say start at the beginning and so on. It happens with everything like this on CZcams with it's own huge cult following. There's a way THEY go about things but every OUTSIDER isn't going to enter the same way because everyone doesn't like music for the same reasons. You have to cater to someone's tastes to convince them to love an artist. I just think that if people stopped telling people they HAVE to start at the beginning, there would be a lot more reactors that would actually go through with the full journey.

@@FlawdTV okay but like he said. when you start off at the beginning youll enjoy the references in the newer songs better. id rather be like "yo i remember that in the other song we reacted to that hes talking about" than to possibly forget that a newer song i had listened to referenced a line i just heard in an older song after already listened to the newer songs. i hope i explained this well. anyway, if your reading this, you can do what you want since its your channel but starting from the beginning is recommended for a more enjoyable experience

@@FlawdTV You are 100% correct. There’s no problem with suggesting starting from the beginning, but like you said, if you really like his music and eventually listen to it all, you’ll still get the whole story. Everyone is different and some enjoy music differently than others. I mean, it’s your channel so you should do what want. You at least gave it a shot with starting with Intro after you did The Search so no one can really be mad at you, and if they are, fuck em lol. As a side note, I’m excited to see you get to Returns, When I Grow Up, Options, and Why on this album. I’m predicting Returns will be one of your favorites, though!

The newer stuff in his mixtape is all over the place but amazing and I would recommend Story if you want an amazing sound with just as amazing a video that is so different from anything I have ever heard.

  • @livelifehatefur

Your thoughts on the NF "Journey" that people try to get reactors to go through is VERY true. To me NF is a rapper that has gotten progressively better as time has gone on. People want reactors to go through his entire catalog of music which causes them to get burnt out by the time reach the end, and to me the end is the best part. NF has some older songs that are dope as fuck and worth your attention but I dont feel theres a need to listen to every single one and certainly not in order
telling people that they HAVE to do the NF "journey" after reacting to 1 of his bangers for the 1st time is like telling someone they have to try every sandwich in the world IN ORDER OF CREATION after they tasted a PB&J for the 1st time.
you - "but i dont even like eggs and im lactose intolerant"
NF fans - "YOU WILL EAT THIS EGG AND CHEESE SANDWICH, IF YOU DONT HOW WILL YOU EVER APPRECIATE THE PB&JJJJJJJJJJJJJ!!!!"
i feel like doing a mini joruney of NFs greatest hits in whatever order you want is cool. maybe do "the search" album and then drop back into some of his older shit idk man you do you.
ill recommend "remember this" as one of his simi older songs that i think youll like. i almost typed this comment in the 1st reaction you did as a warning lol

Its not that he wouldnt be able to appreciate the song but that he'd have a lot of questions (like he did in this one) that NFs addressed in past songs and fans dont want to ruin the complexity of the bar by explaining the bar. (i.e. explaining mansion when a reactor doesn't fully understand a bar)

i get what youre sayin dude its just a tall task to expect someone to go through all that just to understand a few bars in a song. NF songs arnt some "test" your gonna fail if you dont get all the answers right. you can draw on your own life experiences to fill in the gaps as it make sense to you. I think even NF himself doesnt expect everyone whos listening to his music now to have listened to all the music he put out before. the bar in this song. " remember back in no name i said fame called?" its almost like a breadcrumb to go listen to that song. or in The search "ive been makin a whole lot of changes, i wrote a song about that you should play it"

^ this 100%.. is actually probably what I did to get into NF. I had been away from rap for a decade probably just terrible crap for so long, for the most part.
So i check out the Search video, and am of course blown away.. then just made my way through *that* album, before going back.
And yes, Remember This is amazing. Wow, truth bombs for anyone to live by - that is why I love NF.

@@livelifehatefur Yeah, I'm not saying your required to go back and listen to his WHOLE discography. However, he has a lot of songs like mansion, intro 3, therapy session, etc. that get very deep and he pulls a lot from. As for your analogy, I think it's better explained as a movie series. Sure, you can start watching on the third movie in and still appreciate it, but you lose a lot of context. Like Nate said, "I don't know if I'm making movies or music videos".

Wow I've known about NF for a few years now. I was introduced to him well recovering from addiction and a toxic marriage. Lyrics from his songs like Let You Down really hit home because I was able to somewhat relate and apply them to my life and situations. Hillsongs helped me through some really rough times in life. I can now so relate to fame calling, I'm a perfectionist with OCD and I have really built a name for myself with my job to wear when I walk in the doors it's like everybody's doing the wave and I hear my name come out of everybody's mouth from the first person to see me stretching all the way to the back of the room. Don't get me wrong it's a good feeling but it definitely causes anxiety and then talks to creep back in. I never asked to be known and I've always tried to fly under the radar so I guess I'm a victim of my own success. I too had a breakdown a couple weeks ago where I had to pack up and leave my house. But I'm back now too so I love the part where it says strap in and enjoy the ride cuz now I'm back. I feel like I had to find myself again or at least figure out what I needed to do to heal and improve myself to provide the best for the people that I take care of in my industry.
I've only watched two of your reactions and it was the NF song Searching and this one back-to-back. Music from the heart that you can relate to is the best music you can find. Everything you said on both reactions was like you were in my head as I was reacting for the first time as well. I hope that my post here at least scratches the surface of the respect and gratitude that I have for people like you and him. I was told the other day that looking in the mirror you cannot see the other people whose lives you've touched. So let me at least be one of the hopefully many to tell you that you've touched my life and I am ever grateful for that. Keep doing what you're doing because we need you. You are truly an amazing person and even if it's the least I can do right now, I've given a like to both reactions and I've also subscribed to your Channel.

I really just love that every song is telling a story and it’s all intertwined one way or another, which doesn’t make it just music but everything he makes is literal art, and you can’t take it for face value whatsoever it’s all got a deeper meaning, that if you’re someone like me who doesn’t understand it all right off the bat makes it that much better when you finally do understand the meaning behind each individual song. I’ve been a huge fan of his for 3 years now, i started out with How Could You Leave Us, and now he’s like the only rapper i can actually listen to and always enjoy his music doesn’t matter how many times i’ve heard one of his songs it always pulls me back in. Then there’s the factor of him speaking on real issues, and real shit that i’m sure just about everyone has dealt with that makes anyone who’s a true fan, much more appreciative of just the sheer truth he speaks about. It’s just immaculate. Every aspect of his art is incredible.

Imagine you had to create, like it's a drug addiction, and people pay you to for what you make but you felt like you didn't deserve everyone's money. Everything you do falls short. You're trying to make 10s but all you see are failures at 8's or 9's... You don't feel good enough. Constantly being disappointed in what you create is the curse of the obsessed artist. Imagine that multiplied by the added OCD...

Nf is like an author who has written a syck series where each book is its own and yet ties into the ones before and after
Starting in the middle makes it harder to go back because the beginning will never have the growth that each book/track gains as new pieces drop

I found NF through Intro 3, went and found The Search, did Paralyzed, No Name etc. I got the story on my own time, and if there was a reference somewhere, you eventually get it if you like NF. It’s just dumb that people are alluding that if you want to enjoy new NF you HAVE to go back and listen to EVERYTHING first and then come back. Like that’s not it bro.
