Installed this on the Steam Deck w/ prism launcher. Took 5 ish minutes. Good performance, 300-400 fps uncapped w/ 12 chunk render. This mod is actually insane. I've hated on bedrock since the beginning, and now I finally have an alternative!

@@platformplayzYeah, because steam deck is portable so you can have latest versions of MC whereever you are. But... for battery reasons I would cap fps to like 80/90.

as pocket player i too am infuriated to the way m$ treat pocket edition especially as one of many who hopes exact parity from java to pocket not the other way around

There are other options for Controller support in minecraft. Heck with steam input you can play tech modpacks on the deck. Played through ATM9 lmao

PS3 mincraft was underated😭. Does anyone else remember the custom maps with texture packs, like the little big planet one

Funny story, back then, I once put the LBP and the Minecraft disc in at the same time, thinking it would merge and give me the mashup pack to play
One of the biggest easter eggs on the really old tutorial on the Xbox 360 edition was the fact that it had a replica of a part of Stampy's world INSIDE of the tutorial. I had some amazing times with my cousin playing on my xbox 360
When I was a little kid, my cousins tried to convince me that they built that tutorial world for 4J lmao

same. I've been using "Console Aspects" texture pack in minecraft bedrock edition (check out my videos), but Java is really good at recreating the Legacy Edition looks.
They NEEEDDD to add limited world sizes, and also support for older versions of Minecraft!
The nostalgia I got when I saw that world creation menu…
I don’t own legacy console Minecraft anymore (but I still keep in touch with one of my legacy friends (hell, he even still makes minigames on the new versions of the game XD, same old Peashooter)).
I do have the demo on Xbox 360, though… and _wow._ I can say, with recent memory, that this is the most accurate recreation I’ve ever seen.
All they need to do is change the way elytra flying works and the actual gameplay part of things will be at least damn near perfect.

Had early pocket edition on an ipad 2, ps3 edition and wii U edition, still remember these versions really well.
This is THE best version of minecraft and i mean damn i was shocked to see how natural the combat system felt, i thought it's going to feel out of place, but no and generally this mod feels like 1:1 to console editions something which bedrock resource packs could not replicate, i love this
the only issue is the sharpness nerf from modern combat stayed, i remember back in legacy console if you put sharpness V on a diamond sword it did like 12.5 damage now its only like 11 or something
I remember I used to spend a lot of time in the little main area of the tutorial world when I only had the demo, before eventually getting the full version. This was around the same time we had story mode.
Same here! I was born in 2004, but I started playing in 2014 on the Xbox One disc edition, and pocket edition on my Kindle Fire.
This is exactly what I wanted, a continued version of legacy console, and maybe if they add minigames, they can make some new ones. I remember PS3 edition being my favorite and I still play it sometimes but it's really hard to get into servers because there's only about 14 people actually connected to PSN playing the game.

GUYS, there is a modpack: Re-console that is focused around this mod with more additions! for exemple: Rollin on elytra, Old world gen (xbox edtion one) and other like 1.12 (my favorite) i really enjoy playing this modpack, i hope you guys will to!

I grew up with the PS3 Version, It was so nostalgic, Especially since I modded my ps3 and got custom skins and mods on it. Ahhhh Good Memories.

This was peak Minecraft and nowadays this is what legacy really is. Going back and being able to say "Oh yea, I built this and it was one of my firsts". Reminds me of playing 8 player hunger games from maps I downloaded online and installed on a USB for my Xbox so all of my friends could play and I could win a hunger games for once lol

Great video. I remember the good old days exploring the tutorial world. I still have the original game and can still play it too! I still play the minigames these days with my siblings. Also- since Xbox 1 didn't get the aquatic update, we can still play the good tutorial world.
My first interaction with minecraft was back in 2017 when i made a friend who had a WiiU and had minecraft on it, oh the memories. i only recently got it for myself
Kept finding myself smiling through the whole video while I remembered the nostalgic stuff. My version was the least talked about of the three consoles, the Wii U one lol

As soon as I found this video, I downloaded the pack. Cranked my volume up, started the tutorial world and even set my resolution down to 720p just for the old look and feel i remember. This has been one of the best nostalgia blasts I've had for a while! Makes me wanna dust off my 360 and go back to the beginning of it all ( for me at least lol ). This has definitely earned its place as my go to solo world pack!
My dad and brother were part of the very few early play testers that played the earliest versions of minecraft on java. They were pretty instantly hooked and pre-ordered the xbox 360 release, pretty much as soon as it was announced. I wasn't allowed to play on the computer yet but I do remember watching my bother play minecraft. When we got it on the xbox we would play 4 player split screen all day, im pretty sure most features weren't a thing yet because I remember us racing to bake a cake first because there was no end of the game. I also remember playing before there was survival but I couldn't tell you if that was an exception to the no playing on the computer rule or if xbox 360 edition started without survival.
that is the first video in 2024 that i watched from start to end with full concentration, every single second was filled with so much nostalgia and joy. Thanks man! 👍👍

It honestly is really sad that there isn't any great ways to access the old tutorial worlds anymore. Microsoft really just didn't want anyone to acknowledge 4J studios work I guess

To me this is so cool. I grew up playing Java mainly (started playing PE on an android tablet but then got Java MC for Christmas) and was always fascinated with the look of the legacy console, from just the different feel to the GUIs. Feels so cool to have someone finally made this!

I'm glad to know Java players can have a taste of what we Pre-Bedrock Console players used to have with Legacy Edition. It was a pretty competent port for its time.
And ironically, sometimes i think 4J Studios seemed to care more about Minecraft than Mojang does, wished they could've moved to work for Bedrock.

As for myself, I first started playing Minecraft with the PS3 version of legacy, though I got a PC edition license only about a year after.
They were all great! I don't remember what year I got the xbox360 edition but I got my java edition account in 2013, a year or two afterwards
on my Wii U, i have the tutorial world you mentioned saved, the one from before the game updated!
Honestly bedrock edition has its pros and isn't as bad as people say it is, but man they should've either kept legacy console going or ported over many more features from it to bedrock because a lot of good features got lost and it makes bedrock feel like its missing something.
Console edition was having Java bridging originally But i Like bedrock more than Java

I've never grew up with Legacy Console Edition, - only Bedrock and Java since late 2016 - but when I tried it out in late 2020 via a PS3 emulator when I got a gaming laptop, I was instantly hooked, mainly the Glide Minigame because it's something completely unique to me!
And it's cool to see a Java mod like this that implemented stuff from LCE, ESPECIALLY that crafting ui that I really love from this edition, reminds me of times when I really wanted something like this for Bedrock back when I was actively playing it before switching to Java in mid 2020 😂

There's just something so special about it - the Glide Minigame, the elytra camera thing, the crafting UI, the UI sounds even - that I just really loved compare to both Java and Bedrock

I still have the xbox one edition of legacy console edition! Unlike playstation, xbox lacks the new tutorial world and swimming features. But the mini-games servers are still active! Sure most of them are dead unfortunately but they are still REALLY fun to play with friends.
