  • Hi Friends, hope you enjoy this video! If you like these kinds of videos talking about makeup hacks for small or hooded eyes you should check out this video: • The BEST Makeup Artist... The BEST Makeup Artist Hacks for Naturally Looking Bigger and Brighter Eyes.
    In this video I share some of my favorite makeup artist tricks for lining small or hooded eyes. Eye liner can be easy to go wrong when you are working on smaller eyelids or eyes that have a hooded lid because the eyeliner can be applied in the wrong manner, or too thick.

    I so appreciate your style of just good old fashioned tutorials that teach! It used to be all that was on CZcams when I was a teenager and it’s amazing you’re still teaching us! Thank you so much and I think I will do my makeup today. I hardly do it now simply because I’m exhausted, sick from my GI disease daily or I’m a busy mom with depression but I always feel better when I do it and my hair and feel put together, almost like I have my shit together and my life in order. I honestly do my makeup once every few weeks or months and I have so much makeup, makeup junkie and it’s a passion of mine and has been since I could ever start wearing it. If anyone relates like this comment so I can see I’m not alone!

      I think most moms go through this phase, Ash and sometimes it lasts quite a while. ❤️ It is largely because you are exhausted and have no time for yourself. You must make time for yourself. You may feel that is impossible or even guilty at first, but pulling yourself together will make you feel like you have your shit together. When you pass by a mirror or reflection in a window, you will stand taller and smile instead of feeling sad about your appearance. My kid’s pediatrician guided me toward self improvement and he also wrote me a “prescription” and said Dad needs to be more involved. I don’t know if you have a partner, but my child care and household chore list was much much longer than my husbands. And I worked full time. After that doc appt, I confided in my husband and we literally sat down and divided chores evenly on a piece of paper and stuck to it. We were both happier as a result. If you don’t have a partner, confide in family and see if they can help you make time for you. I am nearing 64 and take care of myself to this day. You can do this! 😊

      We could be sisters! I have disabilities in my back and legs, which, along with everything else, involves a lot of chronic pain.
      Just like you, I have a room full of makeup and I'm lucky to wear it 2 to 3 times a month!
      I love makeup, I love how it can totally change a face or simply enhance it.
      You're definitely NOT alone 👭💜💜💜💜

    • @Ash-nk8lk
      @Ash-nk8lk Před 2 lety +2

      @@chrissymoss514 yes girl! I have chronic pain as well from two major spinal surgeries and I’m getting a third in a few months so I understand your struggles so much and it’s not about making the excuse that I don’t have time, I’ve never said that. I have the time I’m just not motivated because I’ve simply been really depressed and my anxiety is so bad I have anxiety attacks often and my GI disorder literally causes me to be sick every single day with pain. I understand makeup is a form of self care and doing things that value myself is important to me but if I have to choose between playing with my son ans being present, doing my at home procedures for my GI disorder or having a shower I will choose all of those things before makeup. Yea when I do it I feel pretty and better but I’m surviving and have been I haven’t been thriving at all. Health issues and mental health issues affect us so much it’s not so easy to just say I’ll make time for me. I make time for me but I weigh out which ME time is most important, makeup is at the bottom of that list

    Thanks for those tips! I hadn't thought of "setting" my lower liner with a dark eyeshadow--but I'm going to try it! I've basically stopped using any pencil on my bottom lashes because they'd always smear and I'd end up with racoon eye by the end of the day.
    One request for a tutorial, or more accurately, a tip: I usually do my brows at the very end, after I've set my makeup with a powder. But by then I've always gotten some powder and/or foundation along the edges of my brows (I don't do them at the beginning because I worry about that foundation residue along the edges of the brows). I've tried to clean them with a a q-tip or edge of a cotton round, but it never looks wight. After that, I'll sometimes use a brown pencil and then always add a tinted brow gel that has fibers in it, like the Kosas (great recommendation btw, thanks!) or the Nyx version. Any ideas/tips? It seems like a little thing, but it's been bugging me for years!
    Thank you!

      I stocked up on Revlon and Almay during coupon sales of their bronzey brown liquid liners. I recently came across a Wet n Wild liquid liner in a bronzed brown at Walgreens but decided not to buy any more. Not only black but also navy blue, black-brown, charcoal gray and some deep browns are just too intense, creating a heavy-lidded look even though I exclusively tightline my eyes. Covergirl once had a paddle tipped liner in Smoked Amber I also liked.

    I was doing my eye makeup when I started this video! I used Armani Cold Copper on my lid with some hourglass incandescent light on the inner lid and bronzer in my crease. I love Wayne Goss pencils because they’re so smooth and glide on but sometimes they smudge. Thanks for the pencil suggestions! I’m guilty of looking down when I apply shadow to my crease so thanks for your reminder that that’s a no-no 😊

    Great video, I would love to see teaching videos for a smokey eye, and colored eyeshadows for mature hooded, even down turned eyes.

    Wonderful, clear and concise instructions. I learned about tight lining using Laura Mercier product. As I age,, I find black is too heavy, and will try your recommended pencil in brown or or grey. Thank you!

    This was super Lisa! It’s so helpful to have you go step by step in application for hooded eyes and I’m just trying to learn how to apply makeup to them. Thanks so much!!

    I like the Tarte Fake Awake liner for the waterline because it self sharpens and it’s the perfect brightening shade.
