I've never purchased any mtg cards before and decided I'd join the hype for the 1/1 and buy one booster pack and got Aragorn and The One Ring in it

Several good commander cards in the site, but if you look at the top 10 cards even in pre-release, it’s a bad indicator that it’s not worth buying booster boxes at the current prices. By release day, you can probably buy all 10 of these cards for the cost of a booster box.
I’m very excited for the set, but it certainly isn’t a smart investment to buy singles until a few weeks after the release
Ofc is better to buy the cards instead. The thing is that, as you say, I would wait a few weeks after the release, when people become wild with colector boosters. The hafling and the orcs, beeing rare, are going to go down for sure

I got the one ring card in my prerelease deck! So excited!
Good message at the end, these are all mostly hype prices and The One Ring price is super inflated. Of the cards that I think will be close to these values at least in the next few months I'm thinking... Spiteful Banditry & Delighted Halfling, maybe Orcish Bowmasters. They're easy to cast and are packed with value!

Who thinks Hasbro definitely hand delivered the 001/001 Ring to their favorite store in NYC? No way they would just risk it sitting in an unopened box somewhere. It was found so fast that is had to be hand delivered.
Nope, it was found in a random pack in Canada.
I don't collect MTG, and I have no idea how to play it but I'm going to collect these because they're Lord of the Rings.

There are several cards that are not from Lotr. They literally misrepresent the characters from the source material.

@@dodge103189 haha was just refering to the one-of-one One Ring that I think the current buy price is 100,000 dollars (and the other dwarven, elven and human rings are probably also gonna go for ridiculous prices) 😅
The One Ring in fact did the exact opposite and sky rocketed. It’s currently worth about 3x what it previewed at.
Is the million dollar card in the prerelease kits? Or what release are they in
8 months later ones that sinked normal versions:
Glamdring $2.50
Saruman Colors $1.20
Gandalf white $7.50
Sauron $6
Spiteful Banditry $5.0
But orcish bow went way higher $60 as the ring $70 ( he said latter was going doing 😂)
The one ring mainly benefits from the burden counters

Hey just a question maybe someone can answer. I just opened a booster pack recently of the LoTR set and got a Rare "Mishra Self Replicator".
I'm aware this isn't even part of the Lord of the Rings collection...what do I do? I mean for all I know that was a rare, Sauron or Gandalf the White? What do I do? Can I do anything?
Some Boosters have cards from ,,The List" in it.
I dont understand WHY, but ive seen some people (in pack-openings) that have cards from the list in this booster from lord of the rings.

Making a top "10 most expensive card" right now is a nonsense. The prices are making by professional seller on MKM or whatever, putting some extra price to speculate. In the next 3 weeks prices will change a lot... For example the Delighted halfling can be open during the preview as a Promo Card (the scene of the Bilbo's party are the 6 promo cards), so it can lower the price the next week after because it can be opened more like the other cards. Be patient and wait to particular selling their cards online guys.
His is intended more as a “what are the cards that most people are talking about” and to give people an idea of what cards to be on the lookout for when opening packs.

The long-term forecast for pricing on this is pretty simple. Right now they are valuable because of all the serialized cards. If the ring is found, then the price of all the unopened packs will drop significantly until most serialized cards have been found. The most valuable cards are the first serialized cards of each type. If going by lore, then the first three Elven rings are the most valuable of those types, the first seven of Dwarve rings, and the first nine of Men rings. All those other cards he just showed are definitely not the most valuable cards in MTG LOTR. Look around at the auctions for these cards. They are ridiculous, some going into the tens of thousands. There is a company right now that will buy The One Ring, serialized, for 2 million (Willy Wonka anyone? Cause I've got a golden ticket!). This video came out way too early, you should have waited for the market to speak first and see how it would have reacted to this.

I think the one ring is guaranteed in the bundles meaning it'll probably drop down to the price of a sol ring

The question was not for me, but the original collector box. I don’t even in 5 years all the serialized will be pulled and is what will keep pushing the price in that time frame. The human one (cheapest) is selling between 2k - 3k at the time of this comment

BOP has a lot more prints (including being in the food and fellowship precon). A lot of green decks will want both
Birds of Paradise doesn't make your legendary cards uncounterable. Birds of Paradise has broader utility, but in decks with many legendaries the halfing is far better. Meanwhile, there are no cards I know of that give you uncounterable legendary cards AND mana ramp for 1 mana in green. So naturally there is high demand.
Especially because when you really consider it a lot of 2 color decks don't care about BOP and especially mono color would tale this ove BOP but like someone said above. Most will run both

So lets break this down. You are buying a set for a chance at a single card worth boat loads of money. However if you dont get that specific card the other cards are all but worthless. Atleast for what it cost to buy this set. Absolute abuse of the customer base looking for a 1of1.
