    • @rurikthehunter8811
      @rurikthehunter8811 Před rokem +58

      I think the community now is pretty confused about what the difficulty of monster hunter truly is, back in the days the games were harder yes, but it wasn't really 100% for the design, more like for the limitations the consoles of the previous era faced, and now there is this weirdo fake elitism among the community about how some are the most hardened hunters (fall short easily when you meet them in game).
      I started with unite, will be my favorite monster hunter forever, but to say things like is higher quality or is a better title than the new ones because hard is bs (yes there are weirdos like that out there and you know it) , it truly make me sad how the things evolved in the community about toxicity and feel sorry for the developers who have done literally what we have been asking for only for us to throw dirt at them with world / rise, yes the games have flaws but is not nearly as bad as lot of people want to you to believe
      (Of course now I'm talking only about the ugly side of the comunity Im aware the franchise skyrocketed in popularity and the majority of people just enjoy the games ad it should be, just needed to get this thing out I've been through a lot of people like these recently).

I don't mind long animations but let me a margin to cancel them if something comes up while I'm doing it.
      While in newer games when a monster kills you, you deserve it. And you still have to learn the pattern and behavior of a monster if you want to beat him in a good time. The hitbox are very bad (mhfu) and get too high damage from monsters. Literally weeks for beat some monsters... A game need to be balanced, not too easy not too hard. I'm waiting for next mh on pc. Not rise, it is for switch, the pc version is the same, i want another better than mhw, only for pc and console.

    They can call it a baby game, but the switch skills and scrolls allowing for a much more complex move set for each weapon made for incredible gameplay. It's not our fault the monsters simply couldn't keep up with the power creep they have to the players. That's why Rise's end game I just leveling the monsters up to the point where they one shot you.

    • @deaj8450
      @deaj8450 Před rokem +11

      A lot of us old fans have some bitterness towards World is why. It changed so much of the gameplay formula, difficulty, and especially preparation and pacing in hunts that it feels almost like a different series when you play it. It's definitely easier than what came before by a good bit, so it rubs a lot of classic fans the wrong way.
      Don't worry though, the mh community might trash on people through memes but it's all in good fun and one day when the series keeps getting easier you'll be able to trash talk the newbies too lol

      @@deaj8450 Not sure I'd ever want to. I started in world, did iceborne and risebreak. If down the line I'm an old player angrily shaking my fist at the new kids I might just drop the franchise all together. I get that the game appears easier, but thats because of the QoL changes, and the fact people who played MH before world, have put hundreds and hundreds of hours into the game, no wonder you all find it easier, you've naturally become better hunters. I've seen gameplay of the older games, alot of the problems I see with it is just the technology of the time, the hit boxes are far less refined, thats artificial difficulty. Its why the gameplay was slower, or at least thats why I think so, so it doesn't appear unfair when you get combo'd by a bunch of bad hitboxes. Not saying the older games are shit, but because of that old tech jank, if you released MH1 again, or any of the first few titles, with refined controls and hitboxes such as the like of world, it would be the easiest MH period. Now I can understand the gathering/prep aspect, I do remember a farm in the videos of older games, not sure which one though, where you could get materials that maybe you level up, and I think thats great wouldn't mind that in the newer games as well though with how barebones the bases will be, based on location, might not happen in Wilds but I could be wrong and hope I am. It just seems to me like Toxic elitism plain and simple. I know not all old school hunters are like that, I have seen plenty that sing the praises of worldborne and risebreak to give credit where its due, but there are a lot that genuinely hate the newer games and are negative, or hostile, to those that do.

    • @deaj8450
      @deaj8450 Před 25 dny

      @lordfoogthe2st789 I disagree with your interpretation of why old mh gameplay was the way it was, and why the games are easier now. Not saying none of what you said has merit, but it really isn't the overall picture.
      If you honestly think mh1 with world hit boxes would the easiest mh, it really shows just how little you know of the old games. I'm not saying that as some insult, it's just a fact. Mh1 is brutal for far more reasons than bad hitboxes. Rathalos flies around for about 80% of his fight completely out of hitting range. Small monsters are constantly attacking you and are a legitimate threat. You can't send items to your item box. There's no farm. Money is scarce. Resources and potions were also something you had to constantly work for.
      Mh portable 3rd is probably the easiest monster hunter, and it was derided as easy at the time. Just to throw a bone to world, which is probably harder than portable 3rd. But I still like portable 3rd more, because the difficulty was really not the difference. It's more about immersion.
      Modern monster hunter's problems aren't that it isn't easy, that's just what people say because it's simpler than explaining the real reasons. They may be easier overall, but it's that the games became almost a different genre entirely and the immersion suffers for it. This really all started back in either Freedom Unite or third gen actually, but each new title goes further from the old school immersive qualities.
      These qol changes aren't just qol, they are serious changes to the pace and balance of the game. Another huge difference is the hunters are far more powerful due to their expanded tools and movesets.
      To go over the actual differences would literally take hours, or multiple thousands of words, which is why I'm not going into as much detail as I really should. It can't be summed up as hitboxes and controls, I understand why you think that but there are far more substantial differences than that.
      I hate the newer games but I'm totally fine with other people liking them. They just changed what I loved too much to want to play it anymore, but they appeal to a wider audience than before. You have to understand, monster hunter was an extremely niche title in the west for a long time and it was for many more reasons than controls and hitboxes.
