    Loved the new Indian Lineup. My favorite was the Indian FTR 1200's. My cousin in Texas bought a new Indian Cruiser and he loves it.

    I know a lot of Harley people make an issue of the fact that Indian isn’t the original company and that it’s a Polaris brand. I don’t think fans of Indian are in denial about this. We know and we just don’t care. It may not be the same company, but that doesn’t mean the brand can’t live on. It’s the next best thing to the brand having never gone away. No one ever talks about this with Triumph, but the same thing happened with them. They just didn’t go away for as long. This has even happened outside of the motorcycle industry with well revered brands. Indian Motorcycle is good for Harley-Davidson and Harley-Davidson is good for Indian Motorcycle. They are both good for the consumer. We should all pull for both companies to do well.

    It’s cool to think that no one’s been able to beat Burt Munro’s under 1000cc land speed record and he did it on a 1920 Indian “Munro Special”. 104 year old 850 is still worlds the fastest Indian

    Damn ! Indian is making THE best looking bikes imo. Glad they're still here. Its their time to shine. Harley's need to take some time off. They've been in the spot light longer than deserved.

      Come one bud lol. They have wayyy to much plastic. HD absolutely owns them in the looks department and paint department. But they do make solid bikes.

      @@fvgc454ssAgreed, especially when it comes to the paintjobs of the Harley CVO's. No motorcycle company, imho, can beat those custom CVO paintjobs.

    I appreciate Indian motorcycles, but when compared to Harley-Davidson, the resale value is disappointingly low, and there's a noticeable shortage of dealer support and parts availability. While they might produce superior motorcycles, the aspects of resale value and the ease of obtaining parts and services are crucial for me.

    • @giovannideltante1460
      @giovannideltante1460 Před 4 měsíci

      I disagree- Indians are older company- better bike all the way around . Harleys are crap ! Unreliable, expensive to maintain and poor quality- even Jesse James called them pieces of shit .

    The Harley Davidson company is not "continuous" either. Between 1969 and 1981 they were WHOLLY owned by AMF (the company that makes bowling balls). Keep in mind as well that Polaris started in 1954, just after Indian went under in 1953. IMHO that's kind of auspicious.

    In had a 1949? Indian scout looked like a 500 British twin.
    I wish they still made simple old school bikes in America in Massachusetts.
    Polaris Victory was the only bike made in USA ?
    Lots of Chinese parts on Harley?
    Nice bikes

    • @RoadRushNation
      @RoadRushNation Před 4 měsíci +2

      You’re correct but only for 12 yrs but still manufactured Harleys . While Indian went bankrupt and closed in 1953. The name was used by custom builders not the original manufacturer. Then in 2011 Polaris had to wait for another company that was trying to revive the brand go through bankruptcy court for them to buy the rights to the name. Polaris killed victory to use that motor to create the new line of Indian bikes. Polaris owns Indian. The Indian line you see today is only 13 yrs old.

      If your motorcycle challenged you wouldn't know that I probably restored more AMF Harley-Davidson than anyone in the USA in the last 10 years

  • @power2thepeople53
    @power2thepeople53 Před 4 měsíci +2

    To be fair, Harley Davidson isn't the same company either. Like it or not, AMF saved Harley Davidson from itself in 1969.

    • @KaplanCycles
      @KaplanCycles  Před 4 měsíci +4

      I disagree 100% the Great grandson of the founder Walter Davidson is still running the Harley-Davidson Museum his name is Willie G Davidson. Harley-Davidson is one of very few companies that has stayed in continuous business since 1903 over 120 years. The Davidson's still worked in the company and guided its success while under AMF ownership. And ultimately bought it back 100% and took it to success that was previously unseen even to this day. You cannot compare that to a big company purchasing a name of another company that had been at a business for over 50 years and then dumped their Victory lineup and all of the owners that invested in that like a hot potato pissed off a lot of people that had Victory tattoos LOL and then put all their eggs in the Indian basket. From a bean counter perspective that looks like success, but no way shape or form is this even related to the original Indian company other than name only it's basically a marketing ploy

      Plus they had to beg Ronald Reagan to help them cuz they saw Japan about to beat them. And so what they took a break, they are back and coming out with better bikes then hd. Hd is about to lose its top seat. Just watch

    • @jbradkilpatrick
      @jbradkilpatrick Před 4 měsíci +1

      @@KaplanCycles I’m okay with that marketing ploy. We can’t go back in time and make Indian stay in business. This is the next best thing. The brand can live on, even if the original company doesn’t.

      Yeah I'm on board with that. I have a 1977 Kawasaki KZ 750 B Cafe racer at the moment. But I've been eyeing the FTR and Scout Rouge. I'm still moving up, but as much as I love HD sportsters My blood gets pumping for the Indians. I also kinda hope someone brings back Excelsior Motorcycle to the Chicagoland! That would be bada$$!

    I love my Road King, but i admit the indian rides a bit smoother and less vibration. However, the resale value is terrible on indians. And the light in the front fender is a deal breaker for me. Harley for life!
