This drone was introduced in my country on our main drone YT channel, but it was roasted to ground. So i had very low expectation when i started to watch your video. But now, after i finished watching it my opinion is changed. I like your reviews because it is independent to manufacturers.Nice work
According to ZeroZero, it has no Obstacle Avoidance. However, it follows so closely and at the subjects height, unless YOU crash, it won't either, lol. Not perfect, but so light and with screens it's reasonably indestructible - all without fancy sensors! DJI be all "that's not good!" - Au contrare, IT IS good! Simple and good.
I had quite a bit of fun testing this one. Really was surprised how it weaved through the trees on a follow track. I could have sworn it knew they were there 😂🍻
Good review as usual but you realize that you don't need the app to set parameters for each of the canned functions, all you need to do is hold down on the button and the voice will indicate the next setting for example zoom out if you hold it it down will will cycle between 5-20ft I believe each time you hold the button down. The unit has no GPS but a sophisticated VSIO orientation. The company is promising gesture control in the future and the voice filter for allowing one to record (using phone) works extremely well in filtering out the drone noise. Took this to Newport RI beach in strong wind and it performed well, also it is a crowd pleaser as the mere mortals had to have someone in the group or stranger take a picture/video and saw me use this and were very interested.
I’m really impressed with this drone. I arrives tomorrow and I will be taking on a vacation with my wife soon. I anticipate having some great shots from the air, some selfie pics, and hopefully the sound won’t be too annoying. I have owned the Phantom 3, and as of now the DJI Spark. Both are great drones but the laws make it difficult to take them on international vacations, like to BVI. This one is so small, so light and it looks like a toy (especially the white version which I bought). The main problem I face is that there will be quite a bit of wind where I’m going next. But that’s ok. I’ll just take my opportunities, and also do a bit of training before we leave. It will be a fun adventure and I’m hoping for some great pictures. Especially using orbit, the dolly cam, and perhaps a bit of customization. One thing: this drone through it’s app (the part of it called “custom” menu), apparently allows for other controllers to control it. I just reach out to their support to see what’s possible. Cheers!
Good video, with the IRL experience showing a lot of details that you don't see elsewhere. There's an update apparently with side tracking and changing modes while it's flying, maybe you can give it a try.
Great post! For what it has, it will be my extra to do local smaller shorts to add to my upcoming content! It’s not meant to be like a Mini 4 Pro and being a “flying selfie stick” type drone, is asking it plenty! I like it and will be adding it to my Mini 3 & 4 Pro after all! Thanks!
Hi Dustin, It is a great little drone for my e bike channel…. BUT, I did break blades on 2 different Hover Air’s on bike trails where there were small limbs that it did not avoid and had to send two drones back but Hover Air replaced both of them. I guess they found out that I was a Influencer and didn’t want a bad review on my channel. Overall it is a very good drone at that price point but I only fly it in wide open areas.
Absolutely one of the better small tracking drones. Unfortunately, they're charging far too much for that device! It's Behavior reminds me a lot of the large American made drone that uses cameras. I'm curious to know what software this drone is utilizing.

Thank you for an excellent review. The one thing I’m not sure off is that if I’m at a cliff top, and I set it to the mode that takes it to its max hight and to rotate around me. What happens when it moves over the cliff edge on its rotational path. Will it recognise that it’s now exceeded its max hight and now attempt to land at the bottom of the cliff ? A cute and very expensive selfie stick without the stick. A very good first or second version. There's a lot to like about it, especially the convenience and its amazing tracking ability. However, I'm surprised Zero brought this out with such noisy props, a big megative, which makes it unacceptable for use around people and a deal breaker for many. I'll wait for a good sale to bite or maybe their next model release will include additional refinement and be a better value.

I am a beginner and want to get a drone, since I have a youtube channel, the quality of the videos means a lot to me, it should be sharp and clear. I don't want to pay a fortune. Good battery life and not too heavy. Which drone would you say I should choose from the ones you have tested?
Thanks! That's a hard pass on this toy. You can get a brand new DJI Mini 2 for less money and a DJI Mini 3 for the same money or less. No thanks HoverAir X1.
This is the kind of drone for self tracking... maybe they'll make an advanced model with a better camera and longer flight time, with more capabilities to fill the hole left by Skydio. The problem seems to be a difficulty in making a drone a great selfie drone AND a great everything else drone. Skydio and presumably Zero Zero make good selfie drones and DJI makes a great everything else drone... None of these companies seem capable of doing both. I honestly think Zero Zero could produce a really good 1/1.3" sensor selfie/tracking drone for around $1000. A medium sized/ sub 250g drone, with a decent 4k/ 60 camera, 40+ minute flight time, quieter operation, and a top speed off 45-50 mph could be a real hit.
Will it work in crowded places like high street recording from height or travelling videos how about driving and it follows and records I’m not sure if that will work that way let me know thanks
If this drone is 400 dollars u should get an mini 2 used fmc. U can easily get an dji mini 2 for under 400. But It doesn't have any obstacle avoidance. But mini 2 overall great drone. Im more an dji guy so i don't know about the prices for an used skydio. I just know that the skydio 2 is an good if not beast tracking drone.(for now😮😮) Dustin when will dji sent u an inspire 3😊
So Ian I am subscribed and have been for a long time my friend you will always get a like from me I started with the mini 3 pro but just had to get the upgrade to the mini 4 Pro witch is a game changer for me and was thinking of upgrading again to the air 3 but I only have the simple license and am not up for doing the other license to fly the bigger drones my question to you is how do you contact an airfields tar to ask them if its OK to fly my friend I am very new to this and when I take off I am more like a sniper and don't want to be seen yes there are loads of people that want that reaction its just not my thing as I seen a karen last year in a large white SUV with my insta x3 straped to my chest the car past me 6 times but every time I went over to speak to them they drove off as fast as they could
Unbox therapy did something with it that was kinda cool he put out his hand not even under it and it registered he put his hand out while it was a couple feet away and it came to him and landed you should try it
It’s a fun little selfie drone, but severely overpriced. Also, I’ve got the Spark, still working fine after all these years and compared to the Spark this new little selfie drone is very inferior regarding what you get. If the price was set to around 100-200 USD or EUR it in my own opinion could be a fun gadget. But as it in my country Finland would require the same drone operator licensing as a real camera drone this is a no go for many.
I use a old iphone 7 plus and it works great. not super hot audio but helps. either way you showed me more features I have not used. price point great and good money for the buck. It is more suited for vloggers than pilots. vest wishes and looking forward to your next video@@DustinDunnill

I found it isn’t great for night shots. But the daytime clarity is great! I’ve only had mine for a short time though and am still experimenting.
My man's moved to the main land and it shows lol nice drone.
Would love one of these only it has a problem flying in any windy conditions 🚴

Did you know you can record audio from you without the sound of the motors from the drone?
The audio in the app wasn't working. You could see the error when I was showing the recorded app on occasion 🍻

There is no obstacle avoidance and it doesn't track cars, only people so probably not for what you want 🍻

at high altitude, the props will need to spin faster and make more noise. Big props are quieter but typically unguarded. Pros 'n Cons like always😕

Likely an android issue. It's always easier to program apps for a few iPhone models than hundreds of android models 😂🍻
