I’m an American beekeeper in the north I happened to come across this by chance. If you ever read this thank you what a beautiful song and a beautiful voice. It’s made my heart warm.
When mom was alive and i was still a kid she did time a lot I had to stay in foster homes till she got out, I had one wonderful family offer to adopt me and I declined. I'll never forget how heartbroken they were but even though mom made a lot of mistakes she did her best to show me she loved me. Some of the kids in the homes I stayed at were certain they were not loved by their mothers. Even if you mess up sometimes it's important to do what you can to show your child you love them, ill always love my mom and I know now she had severe mental health issues. I hope she's proud of me and knows I don't blame her.
I heard this about 12 years ago when I was 14 and had to grow up fast. At 17 I was kicked out into the streets by my mother. Years have gone by and nothing has gotten easier. I turn 26 this year and I’ve had to be alone the majority of my adulthood because my family exiled me for being me. I don’t know what it’s like to have a family, I keep going through so much and I don’t know when it will stop. I have to serve time in a few weeks because I made a dumb decision but I think all I’m looking for is love and someone to appreciate me. I feel so lost right now all I want to do is listen to this song and float away…. Thursday 2:53 p.m. April, 25th. 2024.
I found this song on CZcams back in 2009. I fell in love with Zee's voice. I remember sitting on the brownstone steps in the morning sun with my little laptop, listening to this and sipping french vanilla coffee while you slept in upstairs. I was so happy. We were engaged then. I remember I started calling you my honeybee. Some of those old cards you have from me have pictures or stickers of fat, happy little bees on them. I even dragged you to a little show of hers down on the Jersey Shore. (She was great). Seems like a lifetime ago. That was before I found out about the lies, the cheating, the manipulation, and before all the neglect and abuse. It was before I had the faintest clue that you were a narcissist, a sadist, and a borderline sociopath with an agenda. It was before I knew that you never really intended to marry me. When I was listening to this song I was wearing an engagement ring, had a beautiful wedding dress with my name on it and nothing but pure love, unconditional trust and contentment in my heart. Now when I hear this song, it makes me profoundly sad. There is a dark hole inside me and it's filled with shadows of you. It makes me miserable that I have to live with all these memories of loving someone.. (close to a decade) ..who never really existed. I have to live with memories of endless crying, anxiety, rejection, intense and repeated disappointment and every kind of abuse imaginable. For you, it's meaningless. For me it was real, deeply meaningful and deeply painful. But that doesn't matter to you or anyone anymore. Shame on you for breaking me like this, for being such a bad person and for making me feel empty & sad when I hear this beautiful song.

What's sad is that a lot of people don't know what narcissism is, I even had to educate myself on what was going on then I was like OHHHHHHHH OK..... GET THE FU@K OUT NOW!!!!!

This song is so lovely when you read about how the little honeybee sacrifices all of that so courageously to save her other little honeybee. It breaks my heart and makes me smile...
She has this really buttery quality on some of her vowels that reminds me a lot of Ella Fitzgerald (albeit less polished). You can really hear it on the word "right" at 1:59. Makes my heart melt :)
Once she has come to this stage, we Malaysian should not be discussing about her ethnicity. Just A MALAYSIAN ' PERIOD' and please do not get emotional. Just enjoy her music. I had problem switching off my computer once I start to browse her videos. Can't really remember 'donkey' times I ve been listening. If I had some urgent things to do I WILL NOT click on her videos otherwise mytime is gone, for good. She is our darling. MALAYSIA BOLEH.
