I watched this video for the first time today. You did a great job. I am considering buying a Senton and I have watched four videos including this one and this is the best. I think the side-by-side comparison gives me excellent information. Have watch the crazy drivers in my local 4WD SCT class most of them could use TSM or AVC. One local indoor track a few years ago had to but up a plexiglass shield around the outer walls. Because they were leaving the track and flying into the pits. The owner finally said that's it. No more indoor class for 4WD SCT. It scares me to death when you see little kids watching these trucks runs and their parents let them stand next to the track. Thanks a lot. Keep up the good work.
Thanks for showing us and sharing all the great information Mark. I like the Arrma Senton and the Slash. Both are pretty freaking cool RCs. Appreciate it my friend. 👍
Favor and peace be increased to you all. Just got my slash 4x4 brushless last week and waiting on 3s lipos this week to run it for the first time. Already ordered a senton 4x4 brushless that should be here next week. Can't wait to run them both!
Which do you like better? I just got the Senton today I freaking love it.
I love the senton it an amazing car. The senton handles way better with a little bigger tires, the wider the better I've found out. The granite tires are perfect.
Can i crash it into a wall at full speed and it be like it hit air
Yes
Than it's no SC no more!
I enjoy the senton wheelies and uncontrollable power it’s exciting to drive
I agree, i have the granite and my friend has a big rock, i enjoy the granite way more because its more fun and less easy to control.
Dude my Big Rock is all over the place. Steering is really twitchy! I’m thinking it’s the ties. I already replaced the servo.
Nah man that gets annoying especially when it gets so bad it crashes and brakes
BLX power is the best
How u make it ride a wheelie
Thanks for that video. I dont run my Senton on the road much, but definitely nice to know this fix.
I just bought the slash ultimate.. (tqi) alum. Up grades out the bo'x... clamés it do3s'60. Ïm call b.s.
nice reveiw mark i personaly have the redcat sc10 pro upgraded and i was having the same issues till i put a stabilizer in mine and boy what a difference. thanks for the good video see you in the next one.
Still need to try changing the tires, that alone is day and night. Love my Senton and out of the box, there's definitely a few cheap improvements to be made, but it's such a great car. Hopefully the v4 will fix these simple issues. This was a great comparison.
Take them to the track next!
Nice been waiting for this video. I own the Senton BLX but I'm waiting for spring to bash it. After seeing this I'm thinking of maybe getting a spoiler to help keep it on the ground and stable
I really enjoy your videos. I'm just getting back into the RCs .Have been out for 25 years my 7 year old grandson loves them.
The Arma stuff is always faster but the second function isn't very good.
The traxxas stuff while slower, the tsm gives you more confidence while driving. Both are fun to drive, but I chose traxxas for my family mainly because of availability.
I run the Flysky GT5 and it has a gyro as well. Works great.
I just bought 2 gt5’s plus about a half dozen extra receivers, I’m getting sick of lugging around a ton of rtr remotes that suck, plus I figured the gyro would even the playing f9eld between my models. Haven’t started converting anything yet, just got them in, but really excited to have everything work off one remote
Just got a hoss today man I'm impressed very fast on 3s
My nephew has the hoss its junk i hope you have better luck with yours i have the maxx aka mini max lol but ita worth the price diffrence 100%i absolutely love it im running a 4s lipo 51 mph out of the box i havent had anything break yet
Awesome comparison also I love my monster arrma senton it's super modded out with CZcams's first glow wheelies running the 14 mm six pack MT by Duratrax what a boss
This video made me decide on the Traxxas, I already have an arrma granite for bashing ect.
I will take slower but more control any day. You can always gear up if speed is important.
Kool video thanks for sharing bro
Just ordered the Traxxas slash 4x4 vxl. I like the look of it and the fact you can get the parts everywhere.
Keep up the great work! Could you do a stampede 4x4 build?
Cool demo of TSM.
Hi I got the arms senton 2 days ago and it’s been working great
That Senton is quick!
I have been waiting for this and it's finally here:)

Shock tower placement could be a factor also. Not sure how they differ from the box. When I take my Slash Ultimate to the carpet track I switch my shock tower placement big time in comparison to bashing.
I have the senton 3s bxl and I changed to the 12 mm hex and put the Traxxas tires on mine and a hell of a lot better but I might have to try the tsm in the truck as well thanks Mark
They have 12mm hexes for the senton 3s. That's all you really need. If you do get it though, I'd recommend using Loctite on the threads because you can't get as many threads through the nut.
Lol did we just see the senton smoking the tires??? Lol 😂😂 epic lol
Nice speed. I don't like the radar gun because it only catching on coming speed but you're still accelerating when you pass the radar gun. Both cars are 50+ and the lower end Arrma's do not come with a AVC receiver. Made a huge difference in my Typhon 6S before they updated it.
Hello. I made my senton 3s into senton 6s with a hobbywing 150amp esc and hw motor. Took it off my redcat kaiju. What it did is give me over an hr of run time and a lil bit more to work with on the throttle. It an amazing truck. One thing ive had issues with is the plastic driveshaft though.
i put some decent shocks and a GT5 flysky wth TSM like feature, and my senton runs really well. Its a very good video though comparing both on stock..cheers!
That's a lot push for a new guy ,what good for a new boot like me
I love the way the tires sound on the senton when breaking 🤣
Interesting conclusion. From the video looks like its always the right rear that loses grip. Maybe add some shims to front left to even it out?
Hey bro get the stick on GPS much better results 😉. Nothing but love
The arrma Senton is a beast I have one and it’s just too much fun!
I would love to see the same comparison on a track!
I have the BLX 4x4 3s and riding on the Slash 4x4 tires on. The Traxxas tires have better grip and have lasted longer. The stock Senton tires wear out QUICK! Also, within the first 2 weeks, I blown out 5 tires. I decided to spend a little more and bought the Traxxas Slash tires. Best investment
Slash doesn't even spin the tires or wheelie. Makes me glad I got an arrma. Out the box wheelies and POWER!!
Same bro was gonna get a slash but they were out of stock so we tried the closest thing to it glad they were out of stock!
Personally I think the opposite, I love my Slash because it’s planted and for what I use it for I need it to be stable
I hope that your sons had fun in the snow
I have the slash 4x4 ultimate. average top speed is between 50 and 55 on packed dirt. not sure if the ultimate comes with a higher gear out of the box. I haven't put the speed gear on. doesn't seem worth it to burn out the motor for 15 more mph.
I'd sacrifice a little speed to get greater handling
and thats out of the box why did he say 50 for the senton when it was 47
@@maxwellmoores7487 the senton did get 50 in the video
How do they handle on a track? Are the suspension set ups the same?!
Awesome 😎 mark
Senton is my 1st truck. Same color but I’m going to custom paint my body & make it look like 1 of the cars car for my son.
Awesome!
You should have got one of the Spektrum receivers with AVC I use this on my SBR clone the SDT, I also have the TRAXXAS UDR with the TSM and the AVC is more adjustable if you use a transmitter with three channels or more.
Great video,i want one but can't decide between those two or losi Baja ray🤔
I have a slash 2wd vxl and I run stock wheels with paddles as well as some 2.8 wheels and tires. I worn out my stock spur gear. Can you recommend me with a spur gear and pinion that will work good for me using bigger wheels and not wear the teeth down like the stock plastic one?
I put a gyro with the flysky gt5 on the Kraton 4-s. It’s way easier to drive. Plus traxxas esc don’t have as much punch in their esc. I like the punch in the arma for flips. I like the linear punch in the traxxas for control in racing.
I put a 3s castle system in my slash, its super quick and it doesnt even need tsm
Hey I love the blue element on your design. Getting way from the big orange letters to the blue is nice!
The senton is definitely a handful ripping it full throttle on the sidewalk right next to traffic, I usually wheelie right pass them with ease.
Perfect spot for dragging
That Traxxas flow though "Forget about it"
I wander if the TSM lowered the top speed on the Senton any.
You should do another comparison but throw the sct410 in the mix and see how it compares to these rtr “basher” cars. I’ve have a couple of Tekno and have been going between the slash and the sct410.
Great video Mark, as always. You should have speed tested the Senton with the TSM activated though, to see if that has an impact on top speed. Plus 50c vs 25c might also have an impact on performance. I think it would be fair to run both cars on the same batteries, even if you have to use adapters.
Agreed it would be another good comparison with the same battery C rating. Mark said in the video that the two batteries used are "what the manufacturers make" in 5000mah. 25c vs 50c is a significant difference.
@@Ronnaferd
Thirding this.
I actually used to race 4WD SCTs. I had (technically, still have) a Losi TEN-SCTE kitted out with a Novak Havoc 550 motor and Tekin RX8 ESC. It wouldn't even run on a 25C battery, it would just keep browning out. Had to bump up to 50C just to get it to run.
I put the slash tires on my senton huge difference i got the DuraTrax DTXC3596 12mm Aluminum Wheel Hub Adapter as the arrma 12mm adapters are trash they broke when I tightened the wheel nuts the duratrax ones are awesome
What happened to the Senton 6s? Is going to BE a new exb version or is dead?
The Spectrum receiver in the Senton probably isn't equipped with AVC. If it had that, it would drive more stabily.
Once you install the traxxis TSM receiver in the arrma truck youre using the transmitter from the traxxis truck to drive the arrma truck?
Are the diffs on the Senton tight? When you turned hard you can hear the tire chatter.
Love the Tekno hoodie Mark! Represent!!
You need to do Traxxas slash vs tekno sct410. Whatever the new version is. Hell let's give Traxxas a handicap and do the first gen sct410 lol
Yo it’s me the guy with the arma met you at gabe Nesbit skate park I did the back flip with the 4s
thats why i put the flysky gt5 radio and reciever with svc enabled
What if you dial the punch back on the Senton so that it's as slow as the Slash?
Edit: The Slash seems to have a lot less power just based on the lack of wheelies.
The slipper on the Slash is small and slips allot. If you use the larger slipper from the Rustler 4x4 vxl it'll wheelie. That's what I have on mine.
My slash wheelies like a sumbitch and it’s stock as far as electronics
My slash will wheelie 🤷🏽♂️
If you drop the punch setting of the Senton down to 1, it will still break 50 mph. I found that out of curiosity on my channel. But I feel the difference in this case might be the slipper clutch settings. The slash isn't quite as fast as far as top speed out of the box, but is every bit as powerful as the Senton. The Traxxas VXL systems are really good.
You should have rechecked the speed after you put the tsm on it to see what it was for a true comparison!!!
That senton flip tho
I just checked, and as I thought the Slash has a longer wheelbase, over 1 inch longer. I think that might be really helping you keep the front end down with the Slash while doing your speed runs. Also that extra 5 mph didn't seem to help either, Senton kept wanting to wheelie around 45mph.
No, they have the same wheelbase.
@@Enduroger Look on their website, the Slash actually is longer.
@@NerfCraft On the websites it says: Slash 4x4 12.75 inches (324 mm). Senton 327mm / 12.87". Senton has actually 3mm longer wheelbase.
@@Enduroger Ok, so I just checked again and you're right, the wheelbase is actually the same. However, the Slash overall is about 10mm longer. I guess I saw the length. The funny thing is, the diagram Traxxas shows is actually wrong, it says 568mm/23.36in but it's actually 22.36in, not quite half an inch longer than the Senton. That does still put more weight further in front of the rear axle though which accomplishes the same goal of keeping the front end on the ground. Very interesting.
The reason that the Senton does not go straight is because the tires are softer so they balloon more
Noob question here....new to the world of RC hobby. Can you bind the Traxxas receiver to any transmitter?
Good video fair to both. But 50c in slash for speed run. Can I order the MSM stickers still for my Fox body slash.
LOL I just got a used senton and I have a tsm trx receiver in a much slower rc than it should be in. I know what I am doing when the senton arrives. Thank you.
Mark, I've watched quite a few of your videos now and enjoy your content. I have a few rc's.... started with the RC18MT then got a 2wd Stampede, and a few other things..... after many years I'm wanting to get something bigger (1/10th scale or bigger) that is 4wd and brushless. What would your recommendation be? I understand you're mostly a traxxas guy so, 4x4- Stampede, Rustler, Slash, e-revo (2.0)? Don't have a whole lot of money. But I can save if the e-revo, etc. is really worth it. Also is the bigger Slash more fun in your opinion? Lastly, are you looking to sell the car you'd recommend? Wish I was in Texas ( Utah seems to be more sparse for good hobby shops, swapmeets, and such). Thanks in advance.
If u can afford the revo 2.0 you wont be disappointed. I got one and its by farrrr my favorite rc
Is the tsm off on traxxas? When u did the stability test
Also, before we know, I'm going to agree with Senton being smidge faster. Traxxas is pretty conservative with stock gearing.
my arrma granite blx started pulling left on heavy throttle like would wash out.the input gear on the rear diff stripped out and after replacing the input gear it was back going straight under full throttle.
Hi Mark, do you by chance have a link for the tsm you used. I picked up a senton a couple weeks ago and would love to add this to the truck
You can order a $30 dumborc on Amazon. His setup is a bit pricey I believe. You'll accomplish the same thing for what you're wanting.
Do remember that the slash comes with new gears for more speed in the box.
if i have a tekno sct would it be a good idea to own one of those?
I own both and prefer the senton. On the track the senton just has more instant power and while the Traxxas is definitely easier to control, an experienced driver will most likely prefer the arrma as well.
What kind of gearing do you have in them??
Hi I have a question those TSM can work any cars thanks
What's the name of the tsm receiver you used for the senton. Also what's the name of the transmitter
Always keep a few fishing weights on hand for weight balancing 😉
Hi Mark, I enjoy your videos, but this one seemed "a little" bias. I've owned both trucks and I currently own a senton and they are not that hard to drive. I live in Canada and I currently have a snow covered rc wonderland and I hit less curbs than you did in this video with your senton lol. Yes you have to drive it but to me that is what rcing is about, not having a computerized system keeping it straight for you (unless its 2wd lol). Keep the videos coming, we all enjoy them. Just remember, you can't bs a bs'er lol
I’m looking for my next RC truck and I’ve been looking at the Arrma granite brushless but I noticed the traxxas is like 4 pounds heavier. So that made me wonder if it’s more heavy duty and has better quality parts
Hmm it depends, heavier also means that much more impact and pressure in a crash.
@@Rek_Rc for sure. I’ve learned a lot over the past year. The 3S series cars generally hold up pretty well especially with the high end class like Traxxas and Arrma. I’m learning for the best in endurance and structurally is to go with 6S vehicles running on a 4S battery. You get good speed good performance but not that extra push that ends with them busted. Especially if it’s your car that someone else is running
@@jimmyv1753 yep, I generally nerf all my rc cars when I let someone inexperienced drive them, either with power settings or dropping to a battery with less cells. I don't mind letting people drive them at all because I love promoting the hobby, but I for sure nerf them first lol.
Hello Mark, I want to know why we haven't seen I know prep drag car on your channel?
Slash 4x4 still handles better with tsm turned down or off. It’s the best rc car for ripping as fast as you on and off road
To fix the Arrma's stability issue you need to do two things besides mess with the stability management, replace the servo with a digital one, and ditch the controller. I know you have better transmitters, use one of them as the one the Arrma comes with is complete and utter garbage, just read the forums, use the FlySky that you use for your Mini Z's, it's what I use with mine, as well as my Traxxas Slash Ultimate and it's brilliant. For the servo, try a JX Ecoboost CLS6336HV 36KG, they're only 30 bucks on Bangood and THEY ARE AWESOME, so much that I've replaced all of my 1:10 trucks with one..
One of the best arrma vs traxxas videos I’ve seen 👍👍
I can floor my Senton (3s) on dirt and drive straight for 200 feet to jump. Maybe change the throttle setting?
You should drop the front post on the senton. It parachutes less
I feel if you put some weight (like duct tape some fishing weights on there lol) that the nose on that senton will stay down a bit better
uhg you lucky i me and my brother got new rc cars but its been snowing non stop in pa lol and ive herd its been pretty bad in texxas
Greetings 😁
What's the green an blue one in the truck?
How do you keep the wheels down? I have an arrma Senton.
Hot racing makes a 12mm adapter hex for the senton
