Sadhak Bamakhyapa, also known as Bamakhepa, was a revered saint and mystic from Bengal, India. He was born in the late 19th century, in 1861, in the village of Atla in the Burdwan district of West Bengal. Bamakhyapa's birth name was Bamacharan Chattopadhyay.
Bamakhyapa is primarily associated with the Tantric tradition of Hinduism. He was known for his unconventional and radical approach to spirituality, often engaging in practices that were considered taboo by society. He embraced a life of austerity, living in cremation grounds and wearing minimal clothing, which earned him the epithet "Bamakhyapa," meaning "the mad saint of the cremation ground."
