I agree. We got our 2012 E350 last year with both premium packages, diamond white metallic, and black leather. It's absolutely the best car we've had. No problems after a year and 9,000 miles. We are now a lifetime MB customer.

@amgmeister It all depends on how you drive ... with a light foot on the highway, 800 miles might be possible. The heavier your foot, the lower the MPG.
Not to mention filling up the tank of exhaust gas additives is going to cost several hundred dollars whenever it is serviced.
@wheelchairpimp It varies widely, depending on location. I just saw a report posted from Bakersfield, California: Regular @ $4.99 vs Diesel @ $4.15. Locally (NJ), regular unleaded is running between $3.80 and $4.06, while Diesel is running between $3.93 and $4.17.
That car is quite amazing, if I do say. Looks great too.
Actually the P1 gives you the comand system, P2 adds things like HID headlight, etc
I wish we could get higher performance diesels offered like a 3.5.
I love my W123, but hey I definitely wouldn't mind having one of these, either.
The interior is absolutely gorgeous. I've always loved Mercedes. My family owns 2: a '96 S500 Coupe and a '03 Cl500 AMG Sport ;D
Wow. That's a lot of torque. Could pull a 10,000 pound trailer with that kind of power!

That's pretty damn funny. The day I put on a suit and shave to get in a car will be the day they take me to the Cadillac Ranch.
@mpgomatic MB has some pretty loud engines and some are pretty unrefined from what I've notice. My in law's V350 has a very bad idle that constantly dips and feels like it's going to stall, it also gives a lot of vibration through the pedals.
What idea is it?
@Captainbob25202000 The headlights were on the automatic setting, if I recall correctly. In automatic mode mode, the headlights switch between high and low beams on their own. Kinda spooky. Kinda cool. :)

I liked this car when I had it as a loaner. I did not have all of the options but it did have the Bluetec and was a wagon instead of sedan. Didn't the clattering and noise of that diesel drive you nuts if you had the radio off Dan. I hated the sound of it.

Great car have had mine for five years now and cannot think of changing it
Seems to be one of the older diesel engines considering how low it is on power and fuel economy is average at best. BMW has a 3.0L diesel that makes 309 hp and Mercedes will have a similar one soon.

i like the E-class in general but my favorite is the E550
but how much does it cost?
I like mercedes a lot. But I i would have to stick with the diesel 335d BMW. It revs higher more horse power and torque. But mercedes is more for luxury than making their diesels higher performance. But BMW is a mix of high performance and luxury. Both great cars

Small lever on the column push up for reverse down for drive and push in for park

Check out the Tesla Model S coming out this summer. It may not be the best performing car in its class, but it is fast, agile, and far more practical than other cars in its class. The Performance version does 0-60 in 4.4 sec while getting the equivalent of 119 MPG!
Every Model S comes with a class dominating 28.7 cu. ft. of storage space with the seats up and a whopping 66 cu. ft. of space with them down. This is not including the 8 cu. ft. front trunk.
This is the best car in the world.
