When UNC played at Duke shortly after Scott Williams’ parents died in a murder-suicide, a loud contingent of the Duke crowd called out “ORPHAN!! ORPHAN!!” when Williams was introduced prior to the game. Duke was always classy.
They still call them the Cameron Crazies even though it’s now Hansbrough Indoor Stadium, since Tyler owns it.
That’s brutal
The 94-95 game on February when Capel hit the half court jumper was when I thought I was experiencing a heart attack.. We still won in double OT, but still...

1. At least one team has been ranked in their rivalry game since 1960
2. At least one team has made the NCAA tournament since 1974.
3. 39 out of 66 ACC Tournament Championship Titles went to either UNC or Duke (Top 4: Duke-21, UNC-18, State-10, Wake Forest-4). Edit: The state of North Carolina account for 53 out of 66 ACC tournament Championship victories.

As a Tarheel fan I respect Duke (Dook 😎), I'm glad we can have the greatest rivalry in all of sports! My most hated Duke player is none other than JJ Reddick. That kid put fear in all Tarheel fans when he had he ball and they needed a shot to win, no real UNC fan would say otherwise. Wednesday is going to be a battle but if it's one thing I've learned, no one EVER is a favorite going into these games, current ranking doesn't matter, how many all Americans you have don't matter, just great competitive basketball matters. #GoHeels
There's a lot of Dookies I hate on the level of Redick. I watched pre-Redick and remember vividly how much I hated Jay Williams, Chris Duhon, Shane Battier, Shelden Williams etc etc. I am both super excited and scared for this game, lol. Williamson is such a game changer, sucks that we lost out on him considering I share the same last name. Was really looking forward to that Tarheel jersey lol.

@@bibby42 😂 you named all the other players I hated too, especially Duhon and Jay Will. Still don't know how Candace Parker married Shelden Williams lol. As far as Williamson i honestly never felt confident we would get him, as crazy of a talent he is UNC dont really get players of his caliber, I feel like Williams especially loves to develop his players which is why I think he's been more successful than Coach K since his tenure as UNC coach. Williams tournament success exceeds Coach Ks since he took over, 3 vs 2 Nat. Chips, 5 Final Fours vs 3 for Coach K, 3 Elite 8s vs 2 for Duke and most glaring is the fact that Duke has lost in the first round THREE times since 03'-04' vs Williams 0. Coach K has Williams on regular season success, 460 - 106 vs 444 - 131 and 6 conf. chips vs 3 for Williams. But tourney time is Williams time with 4 championship game appearances most by any other program since he's been at UNC. #GoHeels
@@MrDevinbryce Respect bro lol I think he has to be the number 1 hated player for Duke fans haha I truly feel like the Hansbrough vs Reddick teams had the most animosity for each other. Don't think Reddick will ever get over Psycho T ruining his senior night. My only hope is that this game is another instant classic, I want a win but if we lose in great fashion I'm satisfied for the sake of the rivalry. Good luck to your team... unless you're playing us 😂

I never felt like we were gonna get Williamson either, but I had high hopes with the last name thing lol. I do love, and I mean LOVE Jay Williams and Jay Bilas as analysts. Even though they went to Duke, they are so unbiased in their opinions and are super professional. Can't wait for tomorrow night, might need a bottle of whiskey. To celebrate, or drown my sorrows lol.

A dark time in UNC history... Everybody had threatened to leave the program, even Felton. He was the last straw, when he said he was going to transfer, that's when I knew there was a problem.
