One thing to remember about this song is that it was a gift to their fans during Covid. They did this video to encourage fans knowing that many of their fans suffer from depression and mental illness and the isolation was not good. This prompted the worlds longest music video were fans would attach their own music video for this song to the end of this video. That was kind of the point for the thumb drive being mailed back-and-forth.

I third this recommendation! So many people consider the Scaled and Icy album to be a step back for TøP (I don’t really agree), but this one song they dropped in there is one of their best ever, IMO.
@@lanceb247Upload yes a lot of people don't really like SAI, personally, I really like it and it means a lot to me, they usually erite songs with the way they'll play them live but in these times they had to change their approach a fair bit so it's different, not bad in my opinion
Redecorate is also one of my favorites from SAI even though it hits me a little too close to home.
I currently cannot listen to that song (along with a few others of theirs, just gets me too much in my feels) nonetheless I agree it’s a phenomenal songs.
Yeah, this song is basically one of those “pandemic” songs. Media made in the middle of the world quietly ending. Not much TØP content was being made at the time, and no one really expected any, but the boys released this single and it made us feel like they were in the struggle with us.
Even so, I think the song stands on its own as an ode to anxiety in general and needing reassurance that may or may not come and may or may not even be genuine but you need it anyway.
Keep on with the TØP content, I’ll be here as soon as you cover more. I think covering some of their first album could be fun new ground to break. I recommend Taxi Cab cause it’s simple and timeless, but anything from there is a fucking gem.

Implicit demand for proof trapdoor and March to the sea all just hit a bit harder than the rest but the first album was perfect period.

Dude, this was released in the middle of the pandemic and it was like a breath of fresh air. Song really helped during that time.
The last album from Twenty One Pilots (Scaled and Icy) has a much more positive vibe. Tyler said in interviews that he didn't want his daughter to hear the songs in the future and just be songs about bad days. He wanted her and the fans to know that there are good days too. I recommend listening to Shy Away, Good Day, Never Take it and Choker.

Good morning guys. One of my favorites from the Blurryface album is a song called “the judge”. Lyrically it’s fantastic, I would listen to the album version, and then follow it up immediately with the “Fox theater” live version… so so so good. I know you guys would love it.

This version is great, but you should check out Level of Concern - Outside. Since the song was composed and released during the pandemic lockdown era, they couldn't be in the same room. When they appeared on one of the talk shows, they had other people join them, and it was all filmed separately and cut together for a fantastic collaboration. Plus a special surprise guest really killing it on the guitar.

That song is what truly got me through 2020. We all know what happened yet we shall never speak of it for the unforseen future.
The actually had a whole thing with this song jknowing everyone was at home anyway. They sent fans on a virtual scavenger hunt for clues and details and made a"neverending" version with clips from the fans , how they looked for clues, unlocked them, sang along tothe song etc.
It was so damn wholesome.
You guys should do a double video reaction of The Hype. I would do the original version and then do Berlin sessions of The Hype. I personally like the Berlin sessions version.

This song was kinda like a few others were my saving grace when they came out during the pandemic it kept me grounded in a some way. It wasn't too tough cause I have social anxiety so pandemic was chill for the most part but it still extends to my family so staying with them literally 24/7 cause they couldn't go out stressed me out so much cause my anxiety never got a chance to rest.

This was made and released during lockdown. It’s about the feelings we all had during quarantine and social distancing. It was such a treat to get new music from them during that time. They also released Christmas Saves the Year during Covid Christmas (2020). You could tell Tyler and Josh just wanted to connect with their fans and give them hope. Love these guys! ❤️🤘🏼

This song came out right after the pandemic started! I was BLOWN AWAY that they came up with a song abt quarantine (“be my little quarantine “ ), so fast, and it was/is GREAT!!! SO TALENTED. I’m only 3:22 this far into the reaction video. Don’t know if this comes up… It was *THIS* song that made me do a deep dive on them in the summer of 2020, and they’ve been my favorite band since!!! I went to the Clancy listening party last night, and we are in for a TREAT!!! Especially the song “Vignette”.

You both touched on it briefly, but what makes this band special IMHO, is that the inspire creativity. It's fresh, and leaves you feeling mentally healthier. That doesn't mean it's always happy, but you end up knowing more about yourself.

Wanted to add that Tyler’s mom said he should write something kinda upbeat and positive for his fans (and her) to help cheer ppl up during the lockdown, so he wrote level of concern. I believe he also may have said he kinda channeled his past feelings when he was sure of his relationship with Jenna but he wasn’t sure where he stood with her as well.
And that lil baby is Miss Rosie Robert Joseph!!! (Her middle name is Tyler’s grandfather’s first name.) they have two daughters now and Jenna has a bunn in the oven!!! I freakin love their family! ❤
a 2 for one, The Hype and then location settings berlin - the hype. The Hype is a great song and the music video is interesting, then while on tour, they went to a studio in berlin and made a completely different version of the hype in a day (while taking a break to go play the concert too) and the new version sounds completely different from the original and i think i like it better. The video shows you some of the behind the scenes recording the new version etc.. really gives you an idea of how much of a musical genius these guys are.
This was done when lockdown began for everyone amidst the COVID outbreak. It really helped me get through the shit times of that. I had this on repeat.

my daughter is 18 now but got me into twenty one pilots maybe 7/8 years ago or so...back in my youth i was into nirvana, veruca salt, NIN, faith no more, beck, ramones etc. now twenty one pilots are up there with my all time favs. i've been to two of their shows with her! you have to see them in concert

Honestly you guys will enjoy every song … I can’t recall which you’ve reacted too but I don’t believe you’ve done anything of the SAI album yet. Fun fact-this is the first ever song where Tyler plays an actual six-string guitar! Which he apparently learned to play during the pandemic. 😁
Since you've done a good bit of TOP, and there's a lot of 'order' lists out there, I would suggest simplifying it and just going through their albums starting with Self Titled and skipping the ones you've already done. I think you'll really recogize and enjoy the progression of sounds and be able to discern which themes and sounds they've carried throughout their evolution. They have a lot of gems to find in everything they do! Your playlists will be refreshed for sure!
On a Level of Concern note, one added tidbit I love is that they donated, and specifically marketed it as such, a good portion of the proceeds to Crew Nation when live shows were shut down and no one knew if or when they would come back. They were very concerned about the people who depended on this industry. This song came out in summer 2020 and it was so needed. There's a lot more to this one, would def read up on it. The never-ending fan video was awesome... I'll just add one last suggestion to ck out the Livestream Version of this song bc there's an extra falsetto verse that's in there that hits hard lyrically. Ugh, just love this song!

As people have said it was done during covid and the jump stick was passed back and forth. Also Tyler had just got a new guitar and wanted to learn to play it properly, use it and write songs with it.
Also, the symbols he keeps making on his face is the symbol for SAI, which came out about a year later

This song was made during covid and was basically about how he wants his wife to let him know everything is OK and she's the one who can bring down his level of concern - the flash drive was significant and they ended up doing an online scavenger hunt where they hid clues on crazy parts of the website and in web code, etc and the people who were able to solve it got those flash drives sent to them
It leads into their latest album Scaled and Icy (which I don't think you've reacted to any of those songs) - they all have like an 80s soft rock/pop sort of sound to them
The lead single off it is Shy Away so that might be a good one to do

I think you guys would be astounded by Fall Away from the titular album, especially the live performance featuring Dr Blum! It's incredible, but the words are a bit hard to hear on the live performance so if you were to do that one first, lyrics on the side are essential!
