In Night City, you're usually surrounded by people at all times. So when the first part of this track starts playing, and suddenly you find yourself in a deserted corner of it, you know something is terribly wrong.
everyone is talking about the combat theme, but I really appreciate the stealth portion. Its really atmospheric, the random noises that play work really well with how as you track down a cyberpsycho the city will transform from a bustling environment to being completely unpopulated. The sounds seem as if you are hearing the real noises of the city instead of just hearing the chatter of people and reving engines. I think the theme fits the bridge sniper psycho encounter the best.
My first one was the cloaking katana wielding guy who went after tyger claws goons. That guy was way above my level and showed in red skull. I got dropped in one hit. After I levelled up, I laid it to him and beat his ass.
Those drones start off so unassuming, too. Before I fought any psychos, I didn't understand why the game began those low bass beats. Longer it went on, more scared I got lol
that psycho girl came out of nowhere with the ritual. if it werent for johnny being there telling me we got company, i was gonna seriously piss my pants off
This is a masterpiece. Heard it for the first time after killing a cyberpsycho for that questline. The game got buggy and the theme didn't stop looping even after i beated the guy. I threw the controller away and started dancing for 15 minutes alone in my living room Lovely breakcore influences
My first cyberpsycho was the Militech gorilla arms woman that was killing a group of her own men tasked to eliminate her for the experimental mods she had. I was doing a netrunner build and I found her next to me when I entered so it was a full melee assault. Just the fighting part of this song and trying to keep my distance for some quickhacks. And when the fight ends from some radio started playing "I wanna stay at your house". I just had seen a month before Edgerunners. Shit hurt in the feels and asked myself why was this city so cruel. 10/10 will replay the game with another build when the dlc releases.
It gets funnier. Note her surname: "Mower". What does a mower do? It cuts grass. Now there's a very, very famous character whose last name means literally "grasscutter". Who just turns out to have a scene where she fights cloaked on a partly flooded place. Kusanagi Motoko from Ghost in the Shell. Yep. You just defeated a cyberpsycho version of the Major.
First time hearing this when a lady with crazy movement speed approaching me like a lunatic (near the beach, on the pier I think). And she brought the fight to the rooftop even. Epic.
The world this game has created is unbelievably vast and complex. I love how dark and brutal it is. I think the Cyberpsychos perfectly represent the unpredictable tension the world has to offer. I haven't played for a while, but when I did, I put 400+ hours into it. I still come back to this tune whenever I remember it.
when this song played over itself i thought it was intentional bc it really did add an extra layer of fear and urgency during my first play through. best believe i nearly shat my pants.
I'm surprised they used some kind of breakcore, I'd expect some other popular genre. It's a shame they didn't add more genres like this one, really sounds like music from the near future. Reminds me to Techdiff (recommended if you like this track).
I’d love for this to play when the police system finally adds Max Tac encounters. Imagine Max Tac coming in, and this plays. The theme is playing for them since you’re the cyberpsycho
My first encounter was the Cyberpsycho with Mantis Blades slicing up bodies in an alley. All you could see were the bodies at first until you approach the little corner where he was finishing up a kill behind a dumpster. I tried short-circ'ing his brain first but immediately after the quickhack he used the Sandevistan tech to teleport and rush me. Been a while since a shooter scared me and had me on edge like that lmao.

the sniper vet in the overpass was my favorite one, the robot was trying to stop someone I couldn't see, then the cyberpsycho shot and hit one of the corpses near me and made me jump out of my seat. that one and the actress that got borged and killed everyone at the fake wedding.
The first pscycho i fought was the one in the bridge with a shotgun, everything cool when you realize he can dodge your bullets and teleport chase you with a hitkill shotgun(like, how in supose to "kill" this guy) and bro, the ritual woman in an Ice bath, GODD DAWMET!
That creepy woman who was in the tub at the Maelstrom ritual site was really scary. Didn't encounter her until recently. Optical Camouflage didn't help me in this fight so I ended up using my Monowire/Sandevistan combo attack and ended up dropping her.
Man I remember my first Cyberpsycho, Lt Mower. I remember seeing all these bodies and wondering why I am looking for a nutcase who slaughtered a whole Militech squad. That fight was intense.
Amazing music when it played at the sniper tower in the desert. When I got to the sniped corpses it started playing the stealth part of the track, and then while I was trying to get to the tower unnoticed the full assault part kicked in which set the tone immensely well.
First psycho I fought was Ellis, the Maelstromer who tried to stand up for Brick, in Northside.
