In principle, it was a victory for Twente as Mönchengladbach had to score in Enschede. I'm sure that Twente did not expect that Borussia would score in the second leg a) that quickly and b) so often.
The Dutch celebrated the goalless draw as if it were the final victory. The bitterer the end result must have been!
