one thing I really miss about old school maple is the community/social aspect of it. When I or someone else logged on, they would be greeted by everyone in friends list and guild and it all felt like they genuinely welcomed you back on the game. Now, it's just not the same...
That will sadly never happen again, I say that with a heavy heart. Now games including maplestory are all face paced and people no longer care for that community aspect they used to.
I honestly didn’t even realize that was what kept me playing maple at the time only after the fact I did when I tried playing with the current dieing community. I don’t even know if there’s a single pq anybody does and that’s very sad since those were the pinnacle of leveling in the old days and it honestly should be for an mmorpg.

Then Ursus, which I enjoy, but it's really just fighting a boss for a few minutes. I think Nexon should release the same PQ's or atleast a new one but with an insane exp reward and some PQ exclusive equips, which would bring back popularity to PQ's. It's the reason why Ursus is popular because we can get like a solid 20m out of it..
Also when you're at 99% and you go to henesys hunting ground and level up. Everyone will congratulate and you know they are happy for you especially if you higher level.

Or how hard it was to go to Aquarium through the Orbis tower or the Omega Sector when u didnt have those fast travel scrolls? I was like once in a lifetime trip. I remember going to the Omega Sector as a noob carrying a lot of white potion, going down the 100 floors and forgetting that i needed to came back. I was broke and i thought i was about to lose the character cause i could never leave that place. Whenever i tried to climb the floors those huge golens killed me and i moved back to the city.
Holy shit I remember Omega Sector, my character got stuck there as well because those golems would kill me and I had no money for potions plus I couldn't kill the aliens mobs for mesos. I had to beg my parents to buy me 5k NX cash so I could buy a megaphone to get a pro to come carry me all the way back up and luckily this very nice guy who was like a lvl 90 hermit came and rescued my ass.
I'm 165 with a Luminous, but yeah I remember getting to level 53 with my Ice/Lightning mage at it was sooo cool. And my friend's older brother reached like lvl 70....
Zakum JQ was a love/hate JQ. It was kinda fun to do it, and funny to hear the rage of your friends in the call when you did it but after 15 mins you'd start losing your mind and keys start popping from your keyboard in middle of the second part.
oh the nostalgia I remember hitting level 120 on my cygnus back when that was the cap and then being asked to do scallion and targa while grinding galloperas or grinding during 2x to try and get a maple soul rohen
The drop game was always fun unless you got something stolen xD Being a noob and admiring high level players, then being high level yourself and getting admired was also satisfying
1) the flight to orbis, the only way to fly outside of victoria island. sitting with tons of people at all levels, and hearing the music, and knowing at wich part of the sound track the balrogs may come while on flight, and when they do , oh god that was terrifying and amazing seeing the high lv players (around 80 or so) try to kill them and like rooting out for them man.... good times 2) that was actually way after the big bang: ultimate explorer, with the final questline for the cygnus and collecting those 10 marbles in leafre....i remember it took me days just to get one out....almost 2 weeks to actually complete the quest and you freaking got an explorer fresh at lv 50 with a CYGNUS LINK SKILL........too bad its gone now.....
Getting to like 30 Was the goal. I remember it took ages and you had to grind so much. Before Big Bang got to lvl 50 thought that was a huge achievement for like 12 year old me.😂
- doing this one vein jump to sleepywood pretending to have flashjump once you hit it perfectly -amoria PQ - weddings - hene hoes - hunting black crow and getting the stonetooth sword ( only 2h sword that was fast) - Blue screamer!!! - fame trading - mini game - going the first time to omega sector and having to climb all 100 floors back to ludi - Guild PQ - Pap runs - 4th job pre quest and so much more.. and i miss the time so much

I remember being a ~level 30 assassin and this guy was messing around near the market place dropping his illbis and picking them up again. I ended up getting them before he could pick him up one of the times, and I was SO HAPPY hahahaha the dude then bombarded me with trade requests begging to get them back. Threatening to get me banned, the usual, that is definitely the highlight of my time spent on that game
Woww, that shack on Henesys dayummm, Hermits used to drop stuff there and they were the only ones who could pick them back up with their double jump, I remember sitting below it for HOURS talking to people about how annoying this was until Pirates came along and I got Snowshoes with jump and I could do the Recoil and Glide right on top of that shack, THOSE WERE THE DAYS MAN!
I remember being at a GM event and a GM was there, in the flesh! And my old computer was so slow it lagged because there were so many people in lith harbor
This is a great concept for a video. I remember grinding grinding for days and days in orbitz tower killing these dumb grey lint balls thingys for this amazing blue moon earring that I really wanted lol. In the middle of my grind someone changed to my channel killed a couple of the lint guys and it freaked dropped and he picked it up! I was so freakin mad!
oh man i remember grinding hours at green mushrooms from like level 20-35 on my mage/icelightning after level 30 just hoping for a pan lid drop so i could buy better gear... and the best part was it took weeks to get that many levels
I really hope maplestory can bring back the old style maplestory and connects all the old maplers from all parts of the world together with a 'welcome back, old maplers' event.... I believe it will attract lots of old maplers....

Yo when pirate gunslingers just came out, we were one of the few ones who could get on top due to gliding skill.Good times, it was difficult but a lot more social and nicer players back then.

Lets see, becoming a noob coming out of Lith Harbor as an Explorer, travelling to Orbis, stalking Tiger in Scania, free market in Perion channel 1, dying to Mushmom, dying to Balrog, screaming BALROG!! at the ship and everyone would go out and die, and the best...buying a buttload of potions after reaching level 50 to go past the mountain trail all the way down to Zakum's entrance only to die because you got hit with 50k+ damage. All before Ludibrium.
Sadly i quieted with my level 53 character before the orbis pq came out, if i was still around when it came i would say today that i had a 3rd job char in the old maple :(
Don't forget the insane map that was below kerning city and all those mushrooms killed you just by touching you or the root beer events man, that event was one of the best!

What else i remember ? the black bull house building mission, when you take it at lvl 30 and have to kill the mixed golem (lv.55) and IT'S WAS VER 55 The second thing is when you messed up your stats and have to restart a new character also v.55 The third is when the bath tower meta come out, you only use one stats such as hermit with luck, warrior with str but you need secondary stats for wearing item (warrior - str/dex) lol. and use the maple leaves exchange weapons. And how popular the monster carnival was back then

I remember scrolling a bathrobe with DEX-scrolls that you got from China Town(?). You did a quest there and you were rewarded 10% DEX Overall scroll. So I did that on like two characters, and scrolled it, and to my surprise both worked, I also scrolled it with 3 30% to get it to 25 DEX 5 Slot. This was only a few weeks before bigbang, but it was superinsane because scrolling back that was superhard and having a 25 DEX bathrobe with 5 slots left was just unbelievable. Have in mind that no miracle-scrolls existed back then, anyways I was pretty noob but I ended up selling the robe for 300M which I was happy about, just to hear that the guy I sold it to got like 900m for it the next day haha.
the highest i got in these times was 35 and the amount of time i had spend man i was so happy i finally was a ice lightning mage and could train in sleepywood
Oh my god my childhood memories... Coppersan please you're making me tear up. I only stopped for 5-6 years and now I don't even know what goes on in the game anymore and can't keep up with the updates. I miss the party quests and rigging the carnivals, they were so good.
I remember the times when i was grinding for maple weapons with a buddy friend. The monsters I KILLED dropped a maple spear EXACTLY WHAT I NEEDED. My buddy picked it up and disappeared. Never seen again. I was so furious jeez... I never ever leveled up to its requirements anyway( lvl 70 ).
remember clearing zakum jq in less than 3 min everytime XD(but i remember ppl struggling on it unlike me)....the dice was indeed a big annoyance for perf stats....uhhh....ludi pq was clearable with any group comp if they brought along the potions to heal and cure the lock debuff....stalking tiger//fangblade i would not hae done that even if i had been on their serv but i know of their popularity....the holy stone test...passed it with flying color without a guide XD....the bonehelm i had plenty copies of it.....i remember the horror of collecting for it :S...think there was 1 quest worse than that but been too long since....dexless assassin...i made a 45 dex robe back then just to wreck kpq with a busted dmg lvl 30 sin XD..king slime dying from 2 Ilbis hit lol(free carries for friends :) )
KPQ was probably my favorite. I would beat the AC people 75% of the time just by doing it manually. I had to guesstimate how long they would be in there but it worked if you were dedicated.
I remember being a mage with a maple shield, and the event came around where you could trade it in for a Maple MAGICIAN shield, which was a shield with 2 WHOLE INT I even had to set a macro saying "shield nfs" cuz i kept getting offers for it.
You should do “top 10 weapons or items that old school maplestory players remember” One weapon I remember was the Christmas lights whip mostly because it’s very rare to see around now and another was the New Leaf city chair that was hard at the time and mostly pros like me got them and the hog mount. Another is the bath robe you get in sleepywood that had amazing stats at the time.
3rd Job Advancement required a Dark Crystal (the one that extends outwards like a snowflake). I had to use 2 for my 3rd Job Advancement because my character got rolled back but my inventory didn't.
oh man tracking names for pqs, i had a sheet of paper full of names, and if u had a track u would instantly get partied, those moments where amazing!, good times =P The pqs in general where really amazing.
Equips and weapons had varying stats. I remember I found a red whip with 37WA and thought I was the shit. Now every weapon has their own base attack no matter if it is bought or a drop from an enemy.

Sharenian Guild PQ is the coolest and most memorable PQ to me. We've really not had anything like it since, besides CWKPQ maybe.

My PQ days had my ninja finger ready and always had friend scouting outside to give me heads up who I’m up against and to get track.

What else i remember ? the black bull house building mission, when you take it at lvl 30 and have to kill the mixed golem (lv.55) and IT'S WAS VER 55
The second thing is when you messed up your stats and have to restart a new character also v.55
The third is when the bath tower meta come out, you only use one stats such as hermit with luck, warrior with str but you need secondary stats for wearing item (warrior - str/dex) lol. and use the maple leaves exchange weapons.
And how popular the monster carnival was back then
Holy shit I knew the bone helms were rare and saw them on high levels all the time, but I didn't know you got them from such a ridiculously hard quest. I've been playing maplestory since I was 7 in 2006, such great times I had.
Talk about that symbols on the Old MS Hero Combo! That's orbs still scares me. Love the game at that time, i was hero at 2010.

I remember that Nependeath Honey... I had like 3 at one point just by pure accident in the space of like an hour... I had NO idea what they were for and remember a friend told me that I was like a GOD for having that many.

I remember using AC ( was using joytokey) and winning every battle to get inside pq's and then having people whisper you to be the leader of the party
I remember scrolling a bathrobe with DEX-scrolls that you got from China Town(?). You did a quest there and you were rewarded 10% DEX Overall scroll. So I did that on like two characters, and scrolled it, and to my surprise both worked, I also scrolled it with 3 30% to get it to 25 DEX 5 Slot. This was only a few weeks before bigbang, but it was superinsane because scrolling back that was superhard and having a 25 DEX bathrobe with 5 slots left was just unbelievable. Have in mind that no miracle-scrolls existed back then, anyways I was pretty noob but I ended up selling the robe for 300M which I was happy about, just to hear that the guy I sold it to got like 900m for it the next day haha.

Oh my god my childhood memories... Coppersan please you're making me tear up. I only stopped for 5-6 years and now I don't even know what goes on in the game anymore and can't keep up with the updates. I miss the party quests and rigging the carnivals, they were so good.
I remember the times when i was grinding for maple weapons with a buddy friend. The monsters I KILLED dropped a maple spear EXACTLY WHAT I NEEDED. My buddy picked it up and disappeared. Never seen again. I was so furious jeez... I never ever leveled up to its requirements anyway( lvl 70 ).
this is a lot more fun than the grindy maple nowadays
remember clearing zakum jq in less than 3 min everytime XD(but i remember ppl struggling on it unlike me)....the dice was indeed a big annoyance for perf stats....uhhh....ludi pq was clearable with any group comp if they brought along the potions to heal and cure the lock debuff....stalking tiger//fangblade i would not hae done that even if i had been on their serv but i know of their popularity....the holy stone test...passed it with flying color without a guide XD....the bonehelm i had plenty copies of it.....i remember the horror of collecting for it :S...think there was 1 quest worse than that but been too long since....dexless assassin...i made a 45 dex robe back then just to wreck kpq with a busted dmg lvl 30 sin XD..king slime dying from 2 Ilbis hit lol(free carries for friends :) )
I remember trying to get the tower scrolls, doing all the quest and collecting the materials to make eos and orbis rock scroll.
thats what made maple the best game ever i use to play 10hours + to gain 1-2 leveels
KPQ was probably my favorite. I would beat the AC people 75% of the time just by doing it manually. I had to guesstimate how long they would be in there but it worked if you were dedicated.
I remember getting on the shack as a pirate, then they updated the pirate job skills and I could never do it again
I remember being a mage with a maple shield, and the event came around where you could trade it in for a Maple MAGICIAN shield, which was a shield with 2 WHOLE INT
I even had to set a macro saying "shield nfs" cuz i kept getting offers for it.

One weapon I remember was the Christmas lights whip mostly because it’s very rare to see around now and another was the New Leaf city chair that was hard at the time and mostly pros like me got them and the hog mount. Another is the bath robe you get in sleepywood that had amazing stats at the time.
They should bring back these old PQs and revamp them.
3rd Job Advancement required a Dark Crystal (the one that extends outwards like a snowflake).
I had to use 2 for my 3rd Job Advancement because my character got rolled back but my inventory didn't.
Till this day, I've never known that bone helmet was that rare. I've seen a couple of people with it back in the day.

The pqs in general where really amazing.
Equips and weapons had varying stats. I remember I found a red whip with 37WA and thought I was the shit. Now every weapon has their own base attack no matter if it is bought or a drop from an enemy.
I remember going to toyland to do the part quest and people giving the answer away
I remember henesey potion shop, drop game. Oh man I spent so much time trying to win cool/ valuable items from other players.
