The phrase "look elsewhere" can be easily misinterpreted in Tamriel.
Pretty sure the name might have come from the saying "A perfect society is always found elsewhere"
So as a way to claim that their society was perfect, they named their land "Elsweyr".

@andrew T Working on a Skyrim mod means that we already have easy documentation, scripting, and general implementation sorted. The real area where BS talent shines is in the art, writing, ect. We're still essentially building a game on top of another game - which is much easier in many ways than starting fresh.
Though I do know several high-up members who are planning their own games, so that could very much be a reality at some point.
I wonder if they could use the OpenMW engine to make the game. So they would be completely free from Bethesda.
@@QseftJohn We'd never be completely free since it is still the IP of Bethesda, but that would be cool to see someone port it.

@@s4051 It's unlikely to be released before 2025 at the very least anyway, plus then we have to wait for DLC and mods. I dunno about anyone else but I do not buy Bethesda games before the mods come calling!

I love how this was a narration, like telling a story, instead of a boring 2 hours commentary. This is the best format for this kind of videos, I love it, its very entertaining and gives +10 Hype

@@indyjacksontt4440 Yeah, their hideousness was legendary, nowadays with oblivion character overhaul they look fine.
@@pfnieks To be honest, I actually find that even the original ones work. They do the job. The absense of beards is a little strange, but somehow I find it really easy to get used to it. In some aspects Oblivion has more soul and character than Skyrim. This is not to say that it's the better game, but it certainly has some things speaking for it.
@@stefan1924 I agree the faces are more expressive, still doesn't change the fact that they look hideous. I feel that with fo4 they hit a happy medium.
Beyond Skyrim Cyrodil appears to not shy away from some of the more sobering adult themes whereas Skyrim kind of played it down. The mixed culture architecture and shoddy buildings with a criminal underbelly housed inside really got me. I'm loving it.
I'm immersed just from this preview. Absolutely fantastic.
Guys please try to contribute in every way you can to keep this wonderful project alive. If you can mod, then join the team. If you want to learn how to mod, then join their modding academy. And if neither is the case then spread the message to as many people as possible.
The more people who know and help Beyond Skyrim the faster the work will progress and the more content will be created.

When this mod is finished and I will be an old man, skyrim will once again rekindle the candle that claimed its spot as my favourite game of all time. Until then though, the throne shall be thrown around by many others... I wish you the best of luck, Beyond Skyrim developers, and great success, because with your victories, we also claim ours!

I WAS really looking forward to TES6 for many years... UNTIL Bethesda showed the cash grubbing game destroying direction they're moving for all their AAA titles... my enthusiasm was crushed slowly until now I just assume it's going to suck so the disappointment won't all hit at once.
At this point I think my future hopes for games in this vein is strictly with CDPR... maybe we can get them to put some effort into a community mod friendly build of W4 (or even a re-release of W3 with modding support)
Tes VI is going to creep up on us and fuck us while we're busy looking at this.

My favorite part of Bruma was the bathhouse. I'm sick of snow, sorry if all mountains look the same now after 500 hours of skyrim's 70% bleached wastes.

That be cool if skyrim got remastered they need it for the border at least. Maybe rewind the story so we know why the main character entered skyrim. Maybe that could be a new mod.
Seeing those tiny 3 house hamlets genuinely punched me in the face with nostalgia more than the white-gold tower.
I love Oblivion so damn much. I'm so happy they are taking their time making this perfect.

Wow. Everything in this video is wonderful. I have discovered Oblivion one year ago, just after finishing Skyrim, and I don't have the words for expressing what these games make me feel. Seeing that 9 years after the release of Skyrim, there is still peoples that work for allowing us to continue the aventure is... magic. Great work. Respect from France.

We do share assets however we don't share everything due to different visions and goals

We tried to recreate the Oblivion statue in our own image, where she was also topless. Dibella statues are as well.

Burma is snowy because it's close to Skyrim. Falkreath is warm because it's close to Cyrodil.

Am I the only one who actually prefers these graphics to the elder scrolls online graphics??? This looks more realistic and the EOS:online graphics feel cartoonish and too fake ...

I don't think anyone prefers ESO's graphics
ESO's graphics are the way they are to keep such a large area running smoothly with many many people, so they will be very different and less realistic than say, even Legendary Edition of Skyrim
I like ESOs better. Just me though.

Freundliche Laberkiste I personally like the Stormcloaks and how they’re passionate and patriotic about Skyrim. However, I agree that if Skyrim go back into the Empire then they may have a chance against the Thalmor. Long ago I used to be with the Stormcloaks but now I can see the logic how Ulfric was mind controlled by the Thalmor and cannot be trusted patriotic or not.

@@joanner1094 I hope they make it so there are multiple player houses for the Imperial City. Like if you accomplish an early game quest you get a low end house. A later quest and you get a middle class house and a late game quest unlocks a mansion to purchase. It wouldn't just add variety, but make the city feel bigger as well as giving opportunities for those who want to roleplay a non-wealthy person
I agree; that thing needs to be massive. I mean, we conquered and occupied it for a while and it would be insulting if they made the fruits of our labor and the sacrifice of the great General Naarifin to be minuscule.

The composers have really captured the feeling of Soule's work while maintaing their own individual sound.
DISCLAIMER: I am not part of the Cyrodiil team, and this is, at best, a guesstimate, so do not under ANY circumstance take this as something even close to a promise.
But it sounds like a mid-late 2022 release isn't impossible at this point, if they manage to even get IC content ready this year.
