He is not lying. But it’s as a whole. It’s not just YOU who loses money when street shxt gets involved. When something happens like the Troy Ave and Casanova - it effects EVERYBODY who does events. When a Drakeo situation happens it affects EVERYBODY who does events. If I remem correctly after that Irving Plaza situation, it disrupted Smack Battles for a while too.

What fat Joe saying so real.. 1 ppl be scared to support, assist or even want you to get to your dreams and bag because of what Joe said "out growing them or leaving them", plus the saying "ppl want to see you doing good but not better than them.. Then you have some ppl that (I don't even know how to categorize this mindset) wouldn't even want to work with you or for you etc if you get the bag because of they ego.. cause in there mind they will see you as the boss and see themselves as your worker smfh or thi k others will see it that way..instead of building together.. I know ppl right now if I had 30 million and was like hey your talented or smart at this, why don't you collaborate/worker together and bring that information or tools to get money together. They will literally destroy the opportunity on purpose in hopes that it will stagnant your growth because your already winning.
The mindset of a hater or someone jealous or some of the ppl close to you can run deep into sickness when dealing with money. It's sad we live in a day where you more than likely can get more accomplished and more money with a new person rather than your day 1s, family or those you consider a close associate... because it's some underling BS in the mix.. Some Ppl would rather see you broke with them, than you get money and provide opportunities for them..
That's why it's important to move around and network because depending on or setting expectations on those you know can cause disappointment almost everytime.

What Tekashi 69 and alot of younger artists dont realize is that if the stories that Fat Joe told about moving with his uncle when he was younger and forming connections all over New York that people knew him and knew what he did in the streets were true, then he was basically putting in that time "paying his dues" so to speak. You earn your respect. You earn your street cred.....dats something that cannot be bought. So hooking up with a gang for the likes and clout when all they see you as is a cash cow.....nigga they dont know you from no where! Where you from? Where you grew up? Whos your family? If these questions cannot be answered successfully then you basicslly playing with death. Period.

Im believe the sentiment of the story but don't believe it actually happened that way. It hard for me to believe that that man was under pressure from his company to get a deal done but didn't reach out to Joe's management.

Nah don’t say that it was the 2000s and first thought wasn’t pick up the phone and call, or go thru a phone book and call. Not long ago most of not all business was conducted in person and it would not be uncommon for dude to go find Joe like that and offer him money. I doubt he actually had. A 2 mill check though I’m sure iovine told him like go get this guy offer him up to 2 million. Statu at like 200k

@@TheLfamily24 I still call bullshit. Joe was signed with Atlantic/Warner at the time so it would have been super easy to talk to his management. Marketing companies don't hope to run into clients on the streets or try to determine what cafe they might be at. You wouldn't conduct business by assuming that you could easily get next to a star.
