  • How to install a polyurethane flooring system.
This is a specialised flooring system, for heavy duty applications such as Textile / RMG Factory Plant, Pharmaceutical Sector, Warehouse, chemical processing, food processing, brewing, engineering process areas, joint nosing and bedding applications.
    Advantages of Resin Floor :
    • Formaldehyde free
    • High durability
    • Resistant to abrasion, impact and chemical attack
    • Able to be steam cleaned at a thickness of 4mm
    • Seamless and hygienic finish
    • Excellent chemical resistance
    • Resistant to thermal shock
    • Low odour during installation

    What is PU Concrete?
The floor finishing, also known as polyurethane concrete, PU Concrete is not only particularly resistant to physical and mechanical influences and abrasion, but also to chemicals and high temperature fluctuations
The special hardness and resistance to shocks, friction, dirt, chemicals and temperature fluctuations results from the combination of mineral components (concrete) and synthetic elements (polyurethane)
    PU Concrete Formation
PU concrete major two components these are Resin & Hardener but to increase the volume aggregate are used.
PU concrete used as a topping material so different types of color possible as per choice.
Color may add in resin or aggregate or a single component
So we may say PU concrete are formed as a combination of four components of Resin, Hardener, Aggregate & Pigment.
    Field of Applications
PU Concrete is used in situations subject to constant exposure to aggressive chemicals, high heat cleaning and mechanical abuses such as dairy, food & beverage production facilities, warehouse and distribution centers, chemical and minerals processing plants and waste treatment plants. It is normally used as a topping on concrete floor at 3 to 4 mm thickness.
    PU Concrete Description
PU Concrete is a 4-component, self-smoothing and seamless polyurethane concrete flooring system. It has excellent mechanical and chemical resistance properties. It is resistant to organic acids, dilute mineral acids, vegetable and animal fats, petroleum oils and solvents. It is suitable for use in conditions of a wide temperature range between -5°C to +70°C (3mm); -15 to +90°C (4mm).
PU Concrete is not color stable when exposed to UV and weathering.
    Substrate preparation
Concrete substrate shall be firm, clean and dry with a compressive strength of 25 MPa and pull-off strength of 1.5 N/mm² minimum. New concrete must be allowed to cure for a minimum of 28 days
Remove surface laitance, contaminants, coating, curing compound and all weak and loose materials. Prepare concrete surface by diamond grinding, scarifying or captive shot blasting to provide the appropriate surface profile for optimum mechanical interlocking
Cut grooves of 3 mm width and 5 mm depth minimum just inside the perimeter of the area and around drains, columns and protrusions
    Mixing Procedure
Dispense the colour paste into component A. Mix to disperse the colour paste (1 minute) until homogeneous us-ing a helical mixer at a speed of 350-600 rpm
Add component B and mix (1.5 to 2 minutes) until homogeneous. Add component C gradually to the mix with the mixer running. Move the mixer around from side to side and top to bottom and scrap the sides of the mixing vessel to en-sure thorough mixing, until homogeneous (2 - 3 minutes).

It would have been good if the exact chemicals/compnents used including the proportions of the mixing are given. Example: @2:05 you mention a resin, what resin is this, what are the other components you are adding, what is the proportion of hardener being added etc

      Resin 3 kg
