A young patient with dyspnea is diagnosed with heart failure with reduced ejection fraction. Additionally a relevant degree of MR is present.
What is your take on ejection fraction? What does MR do to this already compromised ventricles?

Early closure of AV associated with what?

With reduced left ventricular function - less flow, reduced flow = reduced opening and premature closure ☺️

Sorry, but the MR is definitely VERY severe (not moderate for sure) - at least 4+

I leave that up for discussion. I may add that the classification in 4+ is not current standard. Why would you grade it (very) severe if I may ask?
