As a Floridian I've always considered California to be our rival, because they have like so many of the same things that draw people like beaches and theme parks and sunny days, but Florida does those same exact things bigger usually and isn't as crowded and facing a drought, and yet still isn't as desired. Don't get me wrong though I don't want to live in either which is why I moved to Massachusetts, which is in fact the best state whoo go Dunkin'

As a Texan, I can say that almost everyone I met hates Californians, so no, Oklahoma is not the rival, California is. However, it probably depends on where different people live which makes different opinions.

California has always been the one looked down on and every Texan I ever met felt the same. I assumed it went both ways until I lived in SoCal for a few years and was surprised that no one hated Texas. Back in the day I had a 2 seater sports car, literally no one was on the road and I was trying to stay awake by drinking coffee and blasting tunes. Finally, I decided to see how fast I could go so I floored it and buried the needle. I must have been over 100. Cows and corn were a blur and I never saw a cop. It's sad when you're happy to get to Omaha.

As a Kansan, I can say the 'rivalry' with Missouri isn't accurate. It's unbridled hatred. And they know why. They just aren't willing to admit it. Guess getting their asses handed to them when they tried to invade Kansas in 1854 leaves Missouri a little salty.

As a Minnesotan for my whole life I have to say Wisconsin, but I will say since moving to the south of Minnesota the rivalry with Iowa is pretty thick down here, especially since they love to leave there own state and live here, literally half of my neighborhood our Hawkeye fans, its crazy, go Golphers.

I’m surprised neither Maryland or Pennsylvania said that they were rivaling with each other. They probably forgot about all of the colleges and universities, and they’re right next to each other.
As far as University rivalries, it's actually mostly a Penn State vs Ohio State thing. Since Ohioans see this as a secondary rivalry, the Pennsylvanian is pretending to have a rivalry with West Virginia, which is just sad.
Wyoming's rivalry is actually more against Colorado because we have basically the same tourist attractions and sceneries but they get more attention. We are also literally the same shaped state so there's that.

they definitely have a rivalry with providing affordable housing or transportation considering that maybe climate change is real and all these cars on the road is not helping that and when gas is approaching $6 gallon maybe we could actually have any kind of reliable public transit whatsoever so I would say yeah, California is definitely its worst enemy.

As a Nebraskan, I would say that we have a rivalry with Colorado as a state, but I would say our strongest rival is Iowa because we’re right next to each other and pretty similar but Iowa produces more corn then us which we don’t like because that’s our thing, and we think that in every category that we are similar, Nebraska is better. The state we hate the most is for sure Iowa because we kind of respect Colorado in a way, but we also really hate California but we aren’t rivals at all.

ALL cities suck lol. The best part of the country is the Southern Appalachian areas of N Georgia, WNC, E Tenn, and Virginia. We have the best mix. West Virginia and Maryland are beautiful but the people aren't quite as friendly as those on the more Southern side.

The German Reich yeah she really kinda pissed me off. i was born in atlanta, ga but live in florida and i know both very well and thats a big stereotype which is true to an extent like go to certain places and you’ll find people who are more southern then georgia like for instance this saying is true the more north you go in florida the more southern you get. and for instance in gainesville florida, very southern. And Atlanta isn’t necessarily southern either. I mean it is but it’s not southern because people have southern accents it’s southern because of the cultural atmosphere.

Exactly my thoughts, but Massachusetts vs. New York is mostly Boston vs. New York City, for various reasons. Being a native Bostonian, I must admit that outside the New York City metropolitan area, I have no real animosity against the state.

@@alyx417 As a New Yorker I can tell you that upstate is not at all our rival. It's barely talked about other than maybe as a weekend trip. Imagine the US's attitude towards Canada. If there is any rivalry in NYC it's between the boroughs.

Everyone says that Florida is not part of the south, which is partially true, depending on where you are. If you are north of Orlando you are as southern as Georgia, but if your in Miami, your basically in north Cuba, and pretty much everywhere in Florida is it’s own country
