Albania has selected their Eurovision Song Contest participant via ‘Festivali i Këngës’ - congratulations to Besa Kokëdhima.
Besa Kokëdhima won the televote with her song Zemrën N’dorë and will head to Malmö for Albania.

It’s a shame they decided to go with English as this sounds SOOO much better in Albanian! The closed and rushed sound of the lyrics ‘I’m a Titan in disguise’ sounds pretty awkward in English but in Albanian the chorus soars wonderfully! I hope they’ll reconsider 🙏🏻 Love from UK 🇬🇧

Actually Albania tend to qualify when they are keeping the songs in Albanian
let's count it (with ignoring 2020 for obvious reasons and 2006 because Albania was AQ)
Albanian qualification: 2008, 2012, 2018. 2019, 2021 and 2023 (6 times)
English qualification: 2004, 2009, 2010 and 2015 (4 times)
Albanian NQ: 2006 and 2013 (2 times)
English NQ: 2007, 2011, 2014, 2017 and 2022 (5 times)
so Albania tend to make much better when they sing in Albanian.

Ook jokes aside, she is a good vocalist with a charming stage presense ( excluding horrendous outfits) so she might actually elevate it. But still I find this revamp too invasive , it completely changed the song. If I was an Albanian fan who had voted for her to win Kenges, I would feel betrayed, tricked, ignored seeing her completely discarding what I loved and chose and going for a so irrelevant new package. Would she have won Kenges with this song as it is now? We'll never know...
