- We had a lot of fun at our first cruise night of the year! I brought out my 1956 Chevy for the first time and needless to say, the car got a lot of attention (and not the good kind).

Had such a great time at the first cruise night of the year! Thanks to everyone who came & checked out the car. Had a good laugh editing this one 😂 ALSO a lot of the people in the video are good friends who didn't know the car was mine. They gave me permission to use their reactions in the video
I don’t remember watching anything about this car. So what engine is in it?
@@hooligangeneral300Check out the other 2 videos on the channel. It's a 5.3 LS that's carbureted and has coil pack covers to disguise it.
The bowling shot was the Fred flintstone twinkle toes style clearly and great form.
Great job just leave them scratching their heads 😂😂😂
I have that exact swizzle stick in my home Tiki bar in Australia
Funniest 2 things captured,
1. The probably oldest guy was the only one who knew it's an LS.
2. The little girl saying how do they drive it.
I don’t care how someone’s car looks…I’m not leaning on the car
What’s wrong with people!?!
This is something I can see myself doing. Pulling up to a car show in a car I found and got running, Redo the brakes, do an oil change, get a fuel tank, fuel lines, fuel pump, get new tires, get it aligned, and Change nothing else.
I've restored a few cars to perfection. I was afraid to drive them, so I sold them. Now I like ugly runners, so much more fun. Birds never shit on them either! Go figure.
Absolutely perfect. Piss on the haters.
Any car that's relatively roadworthy is 3/4 the way there... nothing wrong with that car....
They all hating till she walks up and asks, "Yall like my car?"...... as they all look all their 300 lb linebacker wives and girlfriends.....
“ If you’re good to me , I’ll be better to you “ ❤ ….. words to live by !! 🏄♀️
Lol .
My brother and I go to the mopar nationals and get tired of looking at the shiny polished trailer queens. We always end up looking over the station wagons and barn finds, they still have a history to them.
I’ve got a cousin with the family ‚56. been passed down since grand grand dad bought it new everybody in the family plus a few learned to drive in it and added their own scratches and rubs. Every spot of rust has a story. We’ve been talking about how to neutralize the surface rust but not change appearance. That car will never be restored or repainted if we have a say
When Hank was idling it sounded like the intro to Hot for Teacher. 😂
Ha - I thought that same thing. Love it 🖤
“So Hot for Teacherrrrrr!” 😂😂😂
That’s where Alex Van Halen got the idea for that drum beat 👍
@@aluminumfalcon552Van Halen actually recorded an exotic car idling for the drum intro on the song "Hot For Teacher". The gurgling exhaust sound had a tempo just right for the song. I never knew that car idling sound was in there; I thought it was just drums!
LOL, all those self titled gear heads didn't even know what an LS engine is. I think the comments were overwhelmingly positive, as they should be!
These miliums don't knowabything about.any classic ride just.want to copy us ogs 1960s northern calif 🇺🇲they need to stick with their pacifier phones n video games
There's a lot of self proclaimed gearheads that don't know shit! I have a blow through turbo'd 401 AMC in a street legal bellytank that stumps 499 people out of 500. I did it just to piss off the wannabe's! 😜
To be honest I have not seen many transplanted cars and most of the LS motors I have seen are buried in an engine bay. Most of those old guys probably have not worked on "modern" stuff that much.
You must not be around a lot of old school car guys. Most had an area of interest and stick to it. Buick guys, Tri 5 etc. It was very tribal when I was a kid in the 80s. I didn't know ANYTHING about a car that wasn't a Chevy. But I like everything and been on the internet since '98. It's funny how you throw coil cover valve covers and a carb and throw so many off. I really think it would be cool to convert an LS to a Distributor 😂 no one would know what the hell it was
@@berserkir You would like the Duramax I did with finned valve covers that makes it look like a twin turbo flathead Ford, that fucks with everybody's brain. I'm in my 70's & have been doing this shit since the 60's.🤓
Most of them dont know what a fuel cell is i wouldn't expect them to know that is a LS motor 😂😂😂
I love these two. Kind of reminds me of my youth and some of the cars I owned. Oh the tolerance I had for being stranded on the side of the road in the middle of the night before there were cell phones.
That was really gutsy and cool. It definitely enhanced a lot of conversation. I can’t believe people didn’t know that was an LS motor with a carburetor.
I get comments from people like that all the time about my ls swapped 94 ranger people think its a big block ford or 289 still has the truck intake on it from the Silverado. And ask me what that box in my bed of the truck i had to tell them its a fuel cell then thry ask me what it do i say it's for the fuel they say wtf i never seen that before im like where you been at all your life these supposed to be car people 🤦♂️im like omfg people the stuff been around for years even decades just like shaved door handles like I had a mini truck lowered and all people ask me how I get in my truck I said door poppers they ask me what's that I explain to them again 😂
is that the huge round shiny thing on top of the engine?
@@Businessecomm.Ai1 when i was a kid i saw a green lowrider truck with shaved handles and the whole segment in the magazine talked about how the doors work
@ghost.of.aleksz.salad. yes that must've been interesting as a kid I remember my brother or dad brought home mini truck magazine I like the mini truck look everybody else was into jdm and Hondas or lifted trucks I was into minis
Use the oil dipstick to open the trunk
Don Chicago
Used that trick in a junkyard many times!
How does it work? I a young lad
,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,LS engines , like most new engines have skinny dipsticks ; may not work...........................
"I would drive it like this" that's all I would have needed.
It’s in damn good shape for a ‘56! She put all her money in the motor! Love it!
Don't worry about all of those negative comments Olivia. Just use them for motivation to build a kickass car! I know you will too!
People will be eating those words someday! ;-)
Every build has to start from somewhere.
You are lucky. Yours is pretty solid underneath. It's definitively better than a lot of Tri 5's that age.
You'll make it happen!
I don't mind the negative comments at all actually. I genuinely had a good laugh watching the footage. I love the car so much and that's all that matters. :)
Should have asked people to find the original gas fill cap...
It's crazy how all the old guys just don't know what they're looking at.😊
I respect a lot of these guys. They're more traditional hot rodder types!
Either way, great video guys.
A little respect please for us old guys. If it wasn't for us you'd have nothing to look at. The younger generation thinks a car has to have a TV screen to drive it 🙄
No worries, sir. I'm one of the old guys too. I just don't wear a business suit, that's all.
@@idontknow2293 ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,I'm 73,,,,,This new world can rot in what young people constantly call politically correct..................
The Antique Truck Historical Society usually has an award for best display of rust at their shows. LOL.
Well I got my trunk open by a shop with no tools…love that song…Oh wait I’m thinking of the song “On a horse with no name”…
Now ya got me singing it!
I love hearing how you two met 🙌 I’ve always been curious about that!
The red car is a Kellison J6 Panther I believe. They use a c2 or c3 frame.
I thought it was a cheetah ??
The beauty of having a mic/camera set up. Place them in a spot non visible next time! it's funny how two-faced folks are but will smile at ya' and say Good job')
That was a Gas listening to peoples remarks 😂🤣😂🤣🏁🏁🇺🇸🇺🇸🤙🤙🔧🔧🛠️🛠️It Rocks!!
That is SO GREAT, putting the camera and microphone under the hood at a car show! I love hearing and seeing all the different people's reactions! Thanks for sharing it with us!
I don’t care what condition your car is in strangers should not touch your car.
I have a car like this and people are encouraged to touch it. My 55 Belair you don't touch without permission tho.
Same here. I'll let kids jump in. As long as they ask, i don't mind at all. Sometimes the gift bags some shows give, has a ''please do not touch'' card. I bring a marker to cross out the ''not''. Depends on the car and owner, but again, as long as i'm asked, no worries.
Yes you correct. Something I was told as a kid and something I've taught my kids. It's simple respect.
I had a ratrod that I wanted to charge the body so when some touched it.. would give you a little zap 😂😂😂 electric fence set up
"Gotta lotta go fast except it doesn't have the slow down" Wise words
Nice 56. Olivia, you can put a few pieces of charcoal on an aluminum pie plate inside your car to help with absorbing moisture and getting rid of moldy smell. Sounds crazy, but try it out.
I did the bowls of white vinegar on my mom’s car. She smoked like a chimney. It made it bearable to sit in but I ended up going with an ozone generator for two 30 minute sessions. Got it to about 90% smell free. Only thing is I understand it can degrade plastics and rubber if left on too long
I kept a bag of coffee in mine for a couple months.
I should have done that to my 57 back in '73, it smelled like stale beer really bad.
Awesome vid! Your car was a hit! I was a professional bowler for 15 years and I met my wife at the U S open bowling tournament in 1992 and got married 4 years later. You two are destined to get married❤️ Sealed the deal When she found out I had a 67 camaro 😉 LOL
Camaro's are chick magnets.....
The story of how you guys met is heart warming and just gives me another reason to buy my dream car too 🤠❤️🔥
Cheeta is a fiberglass kit car from when everyone wanted a Cobra or Corvette but could not afford one. Good on you guys for getting out to the car show and driving what you got!
it's a Kellison. late 50's into the 60's. Cheeta's are different
“If you’re good to me, I’ll be better to you.” Love it. Put that on a T-shirt!
I love the reactions on the 56 but now I have to go bowl a few frames 😂🍻🤙
From shop to car show to date night bowling...A picture perfect day for this wonderful Gnarly couple!
We're very blessed
When I don't have a screwdriver to open my trunk, I'll use my dipstick.
I remember sitting in my car parked and drinking beer for many nights , having the boys throw the empties in the open speaker hole to the trunk. The trunk floor is flat, and sometime later a cop wanted me to open my trunk ( to see if we were carrying guns, I lived in Detroit ) I got out a screwdriver and popped it - all the empties came out like a waterfall- none of them broke but they were bouncing like ping - pong balls.
Don't it hurt?
It's your car. Beats the hell out of seeing that '50s iron rusting away without a life.
“ I don’t know why you need two pumps…one is enough”
😂😂😂
i really hope they paid that guy to be that dumb and that there arent really people like that lol
The reactions were awesome and hilarious!
Right? Some of the people featured are actually friends who didn't know the car was mine! Hahah
I bet more people at the car show check out your car than the others. Its just hard to believe it runs and drives but its so cool. I'd feel better cruising in that than something freshly painted and detailed.
"Was it in the movie The Birds ? " That was quite funny.
love seeing these cars on the road- not just the perfect ones-any running condition is just wonderful!
Man, I feel bad for most of these people at the show. They know absolutely nothing about cars...😂🤣👽
That was like the live version of the comments section except they got the smell too 😂
Oh boy... when we tell you this car stinks, we're not kidding around!
Even with the patina. The amount of people that lean on it and touch it is wild.
This video was simply fun as F***! I LOVED all the reactions to that gorgeous’56.
Excellent content. Great work, guys.
I love your 56. No one can deny it got a lot of attention. Years ago when I was in the process of building my 55 American Graffiti clone. I ended up parked to a very nice 56 Chevy. Way nicer than mine. As we were both sitting behind our guys. A couple hours goes by, and he leans over, and says. Have you noticed people are passing by my car to look at yours. You just never know what a car crowd is gonna like, lol.
Love It !! Cant believe how many people could not figure out LS !! You had them by hiding the coil packs Lol
omg i didnt think Americans were so clueless. lol v6 mopar yeah ok dude you are a real train spotter genius
Wow your ride is so rad! I love the old dudes that said "she just got a lil work to do" Those guys know whats up
Lady that car doesn’t need a thing… be proud she’s a beauty!!!
Been working on my 73 Oldsmobile cutlass supreme.KEEP THEM OLD SCHOOLS ALIVE FAM.... Love seeing people who love classic cars.
"It's awesome. I would drive something like this"
You gotta love the guys/girls who understand not everything has to be perfect!
Good for you and Danny for taking your 56 Bel Air to the show. I’m always drawn to the “work in progress” cars at any of the local shows I frequent.
Nice video. Enjoyed the car show. Im not a chevy guy, i like Fords but appreciate when people trh and restore old classics. This will be a great platform for you to break into restoration. Dont worry bout the critics, everyone has an opinion. Yours is the one that counts. Enjoy working on your car, its all about the journey...
Hope you all had a great time. Ill be checking out cars myself at the next car show in Texas. Ya'll take care. God bless...
So fun! I love the candid camera aspect haha. Wheres the distributor and the one-two pumps old dudes were my favorites. Seems like the engine is hard to decipher. Good times! 😂🤙
Look at all the NICE cars! And then look at your JUNK! LOL!
It was a scream listening to the the experts not knowing what they were looking at. ROFL glad you had a good time.
Great comments. The real talk of the town!
I took a friend to car show he wanted go to in my 69 Camaro.
I built the entire car in my carport including engine.
Jerks with their 2 or 300k resto’s were bunch of idiots never touched a tool and thought they were so bad ass
We've got a guy up here bought a car goes to the shows and tells everyone how he built it the mans never turned a wrench in his life 😂
Always was a lot of posers in the car scene.....
FAN FAVORITE 🏆
Out living life, having a great time and laughing at the haters.then on to your special place in the world.doesn’t get any better then that!
Primo idea to video capture people's reactions & comments. Your '56 is such a cool ride; offers tons of character. "Are those bullet holes in the windshield?" LoL. My first time to watch your vids, will watch others to get more info.
My first car was a '57 sedan that my Pop helped buy in 1970. 283 4bbl w/3-on-the-tree. Had a blast with it during high school. Been in love with Tri-Fives and a Chevy guy since. The '56 has the coolest OEM access to the gas tank! I have old-school bookend 1972 Chevy's now, a Corvette and a Z28. It's a disease that I'm satisfied to live with.
Noticed both '56s with fenderwell headers. I had them on mine with same muffler setup as Liv's, especially with the phantom LS that most couldn't ID. Lack of a distributer and other clues threw them off, huh? "Is that a V6?"
You guys have great chemistry and thanks for the update on the local car scene. Subscribed to discover more. Keep up the fun work!
Great car show, and what a bonus to see and hear the various reactions. It really is a cool car, and once you do the things you plan to do it will really be nice!
The Comments were funny to watch on your car, I'm 70 years old and I still know the difference between a small block and an LS motor..
I was really surprised to see how many people were clueless About your engine and the rest of the car. Anyway I've been enjoying watching you guys for the last few months, keep up the good work.
WOW! Thanks, This video brought back lot's of great memories of the 60's!
The "Run what you brung" days! This would have been an everyday driver to school, work and Drive In Friday nights! Saturday nights back road drag strip, farm to market road,
NHRA approved spray paint start/finish line...LOL! High Tech finish, first fender over the line! Most of the time we would have an officer from SAPD (San Antonio Tx. Police Department) or county deputy with us.
You mentioned brakes, that's how I earned money in Junior and High school.
Drop it off at my house after school or work. I'd tear it down, drop off drums and brake shoes at "Reds" auto parts on my way to school, he would turn the drums, reline the shoes and kits to rebuild master and brake cylinders' then drop them off on my front porch!
Can you imagine complete brake overhaul for under $20, that included parts and labor!
Will be watching your progress!
Too Cool! I Thought I saw the Big Wave at that show! I love that car.. Anyway, mostly positive remarks and comments on your new Chevy, so that's cool. Another great video.
"I have a key for this trunk..." It looks like you have keys for every trunk!
Yes, cool ! It's always cool to see two door classics still on the road no matter what it needs. 👍
My camaro is still in primer. Was just in a show. Procharged 355, solid cam, old school. When i fired it up a large crowd showed up.
Genus having the gopro and mic set up, Is that a V-6? Lol
Great car, and great vid! Fun to watch!!! Loved the comment, "Smells like a moldy back porch". I've got a 56 GMC with the same exact aroma!
Very cool car show! Loved the camera and mic's under the hood? lol
I don't care what other things but that 56 is beautiful the way it is, she looks like she's seen many of the street battle then laid to rest and retired to enjoy the remainder of her life enjoying car shows and cruises bumper to bumper that car is awesome
Cool car. You can't replicate a look like that. Awesome.
I can see why you mentioned the brakes with the original drums on it... even worse when you go downhill and they get hot😂
The giant puddle of transmission fluid😂
The car has Mad Max rat rod appeal. I would explain the windshield, my husband was a bank robber, this was his get-away car.
This was great Olivia! Everyone 's different comments, guess..reactions!! Great 👍 👌!
Good for you.
You are the new caretaker of that incredible car
It's soul wants to be on the road cruising, providing smiles to everyone it touches 👍
If you don't have a key for your Trunk use your Oil Dipstick works every time. LOL
Cool 56 Chevy Rusty Car. it will be so cool looking when she fix everything on it.
She is an awesome chic love it..car sounds great . keep the patina look it gives it character 😊
Awesome! Love the run what you brung cars over the mega dollar queens. Doin same thing here. Son's first car, 54 Belair moredoor, engine is a cobbled together Frankenstein from what was sitting around, 96 ZZ4 short block, 65 corvette humps, mystery highrise intake, hot lunatti cam, power drums, overhauled front steering/suspension with 94 power rack, and a 57 highway gear rear end. She ain't the prettiest flower in the garden, but he is proud.
Awesome reactions!
I had a beat up Chevelle in HS. I’d pull up to a car show full of finished rides, we’d pile out and pop the hood then go check out the pretty cars.
"why a silly double pumper, one is enough" "serpentine belt...well most have a blower!"
Don't need any pumper, just use a spray bottle with gas.
Those hey days used to be without front bumper and front was higher and add slicks the back rear wheel glass pack mufflers make it badass car
"I love it... Super cool".
Wow , that was a great video , you two make the perfect couple, such awesome people ❤❤ PS liv is so adorable ❤❤
This was so stressful to watch lol..sooo many none car people at a car meet..I love that you took it and are rockin it as you work on it!! Keep on keepin on!
Great idea to have the camera and mic. Fun hearing the comments. I love the 56. My favorite part is the green tinted windows.
Love seeing old cars out there with rust on ‘em. It took many years to achieve that look.
Awesome ♥️ all the peoples reactions 🤣 love it✌️
Real people, real gear heads , loved it 👍
I love it. What fun.
Ok when you take off the hood pop the springs off so the hinges dont stand up or just unbolt the hinges with the hood on it.....
I have a real 440 6 barrel 4 speed Plymouth SuperBird that was in a garage fire. I let a buddy of mine drive it to a local car show a couple of weekends ago. Some love it and some of the purists absolutely hate it. You can see their heads wanting to spin around like Linda Blair. lol
I see a 56 chevy with fenderwell headers and a six cylinder radiator,
( or at least what looks like one )
I also see an electric windshield wiper motor instead of vacuum.
Reminds me of the 1970s .
I know about every square inch of these cars.
I had two 57 sedans and 55 two- door wagon.
Great style of video you two. Camera and mics was a great twist.
This reminds me of hanging out at the track on a test night, having a bunch of people telling me how to race or work/build my car "the right way". Been doing it my whole life, but glad you came out for your first night and are that much of an expert already 😄 My favourite is the guys who bring their girlfriends and explain how drag racing and car stuff works, but it's all wrong. I just let'm all talk and go along with it. Good entertainment.
Girl your a sidewinder bowler lol looked like a blast can't wait to see more of the car
I love them all. As a kid I used to modify my Hot Wheels and Matchbox cars by wrecking some of them purposely to get that aged look that reflected the reality of the state of many of the vehicles in my era.
Fun video, my dad had a '56 convertible. I came home from the hospital in it in 1961. I peed the back seat when I was about 1 year old and he never let me forget it. He passed when I was 48. Not breaking chops but is your choke working? I couldn't see with the air filter on. Put in a manual, so much easier and they work. I see so many people on you-tube, who know what they're doing, not using the choke. Comments are the car were funny.
,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,I'm 73 , been a carb guy since the teen years..........My carbs get a manual choke [cable],,,,,To properly warm an engine ; takes at least 3 minutes ; most are lazy and sit there holdin the gas pedal , when I tell em they need to do it correctly ; they interrupt me , sayin , the excess gas burns right off.............WRONG , it burns right in ; that is a layer of improperly atomized hydrocarbon coating the plug.........When I build a fresh engine ; two things must be in place. the carb set-up , and the ignition timing is staticly set to light the mixture off in two seconds ; the engine runs and idles at a safe fast idle ; now I can look for leaks and other possibilities
I to came home from a hospital in 1961, my Dad had a green 56 Ford.
Did you ever inquire where conception occured.
Neither did I, think tiki stick opening the trunk, ol dad didn't have a tiki stick in his pocket and Mom's 🍒 was missing when he got it opened
