Malcolm, a truly moving and inspiring poem. I'v really enjoyed your Arthurian series. My favorite Disney film growing up was the 1963 adaptation of T. H. White's novel. Your deft poetry will add yet more wonder and mystery to the myths. I do hope it will be complete and published soon. I should very much like to hold it in my hands.

Wow, thank you! yes I am definitely planning to publish it and I hope in a beautiful illustrated edition. If it all works out it will probably come out over time in several parts

This I know I will listen to more than once. This last...
    Sir, you are not alone.
I too stood with my life unmade
and set my hand to hilt and blade
I know the burden on us laid,
Who draw a sword from stone.
    ...so moving.
I can only imagine Arthur's excitement and awe to see prophesy fulfilled before his very eyes. His heart must have been full of thanks and wonder but also laden with a bit of sadness and dread, for if I do not miss my guess, he knows this moment for rejoicing is also the beginning of mourning the end of his table. There's something about it that reminds me of the feeling I experienced in my heart the first time I read Bilbo's Last Song. Well done.

thanks, I'm glad you pulled that passage out. I was pleased with it when it came to me, and yes, I think Arthur does forknow that this is the beginning of the end, something I hint at later in that section

A spoken book to accompany the written would be a fabulous gift to all of us who hang off the edge of seats and onto every word uttered by you, great author Malcolm.
I would quickly purchase and subscribe to your each of your finished tales.

    Good afternoon Malcolm,
Excellent poetry, the kind that appeals to me as l tend to be a bit of a philistine where poetry is concerned.
A fine Folio edition and a bargain at the price. I was in Cambridge on Saturday and managed to get a couple of books from David's, who are still hanging on in there inspite of the pandemic.
You might like to know that there's a tobacconist in Sussex St which also sells Scotch malts...managed to pick up some pipe tobacco!
    Happy puffing😁
