Not more than a few months after the Teslong borescope took the shooting world by storm they've released a new Wifi version. Having seen my review on their other unit I got, they sent me one of the new WiFi versions to test out. Overall I was pretty happy with it and this is a great option that allows you to use your phone or tablet without the need to connect it to a computer. I,ve got the earlier one and they are great
My Teslong borescope w/color display, (didn't want to fool with 'apps') came with a tiny 'locking' sleeve to hold the mirror assembly in place. (you have to strain to see/utilize it.)
Thank you for mentioning that. They all come with those and admittedly in the beginning I neglected to see or use them but since that time I've made good use of them and tried to make sure in more current videos where I use Teslongs.
Teflon tape works well also
it reads "Saved Successfully"
Thanks for your review. Are you still using the "Wifi Image" app? I am getting ready to start using my Teslong with my rifles and don't want all the trial and error of using shoddy or half-baked apps if I can help it. Other apps I see are "Mo-View" and "SmartEndoscope"
They use the mo-view app now.
The only issue I have with the flexi, coated optic 'lead/cable' is that it gets shaved by the rifling. Just remember to run a patch down the barrel after use. You'll see what I mean in. Tiny black flecks of plastic on the patch.
Good suggestion.
I have the new wifi version and really like it. The one thing I can't figure out is how record or take videos with the bore scope. I press the video camera on my iPhone screen and it says recording mode, but doesn't record anything. are you doing a quick depress of the button on the unit to take that picture? I have tried the button on the screen to and nothing happens.
Have you looked in the app storage files? You have to select the ones you want and save them to your phones images.
F-Class John yep, nothing there. I will play around with it some more. Are you doing a quick tap on the button to take the pictures? Have you done video and if so how?
So I went back and played with mine just so I could give you an accurate answer. When you are in the app you need to choose the video button and then make sure you hit the begin or stop button and then your video will show up in the files on the app in the upper right corner. Then you choose edit, select the files and move it to your phone or computer or wherever you are looking at it by choosing the up arrow looking icon in the bottom left. Hope this helps.
@@FClassJohn I am able to get it to work on my iPad, but not on the iPhone. I think it must be a software compatibility issue between the app and iPhone?
I just did it on my iPhone so I'm not sure. Sorry. I can tell you Teslong is great at replying if you email them.
I have the original one and they sent me a new mirror end piece without me even asking/needing one!
Yeah they’re a great company to deal with so far. I’ve heard nothing but good things from people who have reached out to them.
Did you find out if the battery is replaceable?
I have reached out but not heard from them regarding this. To be fair, I don't see an easy way to do it when I looked today but I will let you know if I hear from them.
F-Class John I got an email from them today and the answer is essentially no but they have an 18 month warranty. I ordered the model that you plug into a laptop as the idea of not being able to replace the battery is a deal killer for me. Thanks for your input though.
Yeah here is what they just emailed me today “Hi John:
I asked our engineer and he said that we do not recommend customers to replace the battery by themselves.
We will launch a WiFi adapter that supports USB port next month, so the cost of replacement will be reduced.
Thank you”
