- You probably first saw him as Kick-Ass, which made his perfromance as the young John Lennon in Nowhere Boy or Vronsky in Anna Karenina seem off-brand. But variety is what makes Aaron Taylor-Johnson so interesting as an actor. One film, an Avenger, the next film, a terrifying small-town hood in Nocturnal Animals. Aaron spoke to David Poland about his work in Nocturnal and a career in film.

He upped his game big time with Nocturnal Animals. It was an outstanding performance.
I hated him so much in Nocturnal Animals. What a performance.
He was terrifying in Nocturnal Animals.
i didnt get terrifying from him
MultiKarola24 what did you get then? He raped two women, killed them, mentally abused a husband and then said he enjoys killing people...that's pretty fucking terrifying
I felt so uncomfortable and on the edge of my seat everytime he was on screen. God what a performance
The first time watching I was so disturbed I wasn’t able to appreciate the performance. One of my favorite movies ever now tho.
@@MultiKarola Then you must be a child rapist
The interviewer sucks and asked ATJ moronic questions but his answers are so thoughtful and deep. I am mesmerized by his voice
He was terrifying in Nocturnal Animals. I was pleasantly surprised to see him in Tenet too. I didn’t realize I missed him until then.
Even though I knew that ATJ was in the movie going into it, his performance was so good that I didn't realize who his character was until the movie was almost over. Very underrated actor.
i love how atj was just so genuine and humble throughout the interview. the questions were quite sus but he still managed to be honest yet grounded all throughout. im beginning to understand now how he and sam managed to make more than 10 yrs of marriage work even if he was too young back then. he knows what he wants and he’s such an old soul.
These little moments where the actors talk passionately about art the way I relate to are why I love these interviews (,:
Such an incredible performance in Nocturnal Animals. I hope he wins the Golden Globe!
Or an Oscar.
He did win the Golden Globe
Quad9363 such a shame he wasn't even nominated.
So happy he got the Golden Globe, well deserved.
Oh he did get it?
This is a great interview, but I find it amusing that neither Aaron nor the interviewer fully understood what the other was saying 😂😂
This man is a wonderful husband and father.
Wow, the first time I saw him was on "Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging" and now he won a Golden Globe. Amazing!
Really creepy and amazing performance in Nocturnal Animals. Hard to believe that he was Kick-Ass
Nocturnal Animals is a masterpiece...best movie of the last 5 years
I didn’t even recognize him - in fact I found him so very deeply disturbing I wasn’t able to kinda separate that from the performance the first time around. The second time was just ... awe. Jake. Aaron. Shannon. Brilliant film, incredible performances.
I almost recommend watching the highway scene first just so you can prepare yourself. It’s extremely intense and disturbingly hyper real
I am always mesmerized by the beautiful blue eyes of Aaron Taylor Johnson.
he's so mature
He and Michael Shannon stole the move!
hes got a beautiful deep stare and eye color its hard for me to focus on what hes saying
Two words...... FRICCCCCIN AWESUM!!!
He is my new crush
I love this interview!
I didn't even know he was British!
Aaron you re everything
what a man
i've only seen him in godzilla and nocturnal - so to me he is new - and i am curious to see where he goes - he has the look for a lead - interested to see him push his method - comes across as a nice guy in this - hopefully he stays in dark drama and doesn't do more superhero fluff
...Of Course; In "Terms of Endearment;"
The trade off "if you want more power you need to accept more fame and paparazzi" is a false one. It's not directly correlated. Matt Demon is arguably very powerful in Hollywood, but it does not look like he is hounded by paparazzi (in his normal life- promotion is another story). There are others who attract and seek a lot of attention and are medium or small players (see a Zach Efron or others).
The interviewers should be fired
"Be Careful Garrett (Breedlove); Your Soul Is Showing;" Shirley MacLaine's Character; Aurora Greenway; Warns Jack Nicholson's Character;
When he's talking about the preparation he did to get into the character, you can kind of see him picking up the character's mannerisms again. Look at his expressions when the interviewer starts talking at 4:04
scary
"I'm Kick-Ass."
Pietro Romanoff in the Avengers.
I've always found his acting quite mediocre until this role. He smashed it. Well deserved Golden Globe
Did you see him in “Nowhere Boy”?? That’s where I fell in love with him.. and his acting lol
Помню как было жутко от его персонажа, страшно встретить такого человека в реали
He is english!? Never would have guessed!
dravreh his accent
Same but then again all the sexy ones are hehee
He sounds like John Lennon
Genna Barrington he played John Lennon in a movie
+crestfallen ahhh!!!! I knew I've seen him somewhere! Wow, he's grown! What a talented man...thanks for refreshing my memory :]
Great performance. Sucks he was playing such a one dimensional character.
He’s so stupid hot 🥵
wow..he despises fame and attention.. I thought he would love it
he only despices it because he has stuff to hide
@@thevelvetdead3357 like what 💀
????
I hated him.
Great acting
is it only me or the interviewer asks dumb questions?
He's one of the best interviewers on CZcams.
Just look at the Jake Gyllenhaal interviews; gives time to develop deep answers.
I don't think you can compare this to mainstream interviews...
Also, the interviewer can actually read the comments, so saying he's dumb is quite harsh, in all honesty..
Unless you don't care about that.
