@Omegon I'm a parent of 5 and I take heavy-duty painkillers (Tramadol 150mg) I 100% agree with you. any drugs prescribed or recreational should never be in access of kids. my painkillers are stored high up and under lock and key with keys on my car keys. if you can't keep drug out of the reach of children then you are a bad parent.

Yeah, he's deflecting, I hope for the sake of the kids that he takes responsibility but sadly he's got a pretty big ego. Blaming everyone else is not going to go over well with the court.
He can't act like he needs help while the case is pending; it will hinder his defense. It seems insensitive, but he’s in a tricky spot with the substance use - he still needs to address the substance issue, but it will have to be done outside of public view. There's still a possibility he won't privately admit he needs help either, which would be terrible, but we wont knowthose details for a while.
His first statement after everything was so painfully aware of that. He's not going to admit he has a problem and what is so much worse is the fact that it's both parents having issues. They are on the road to losing their children and I can't even imagine the psychological damage it's going to do to those children.
@@platty9237This is factually incorrect. Committing, even publicly, to a drug treatment program would help him immensely for his current case by showing he is repentant and willing to change. Showing he is making an effort to approve is helpful, as opposed to what he is actually doing which is trying to prevent release of his drug results to the CPS investigators and refusing to work with them for the release of his children.

Man, it shocks me that anyone would defend him. Drugs in the house, immediate danger to the kids in the house, also though, parents on drugs can't really take care of kids. I can't think of a single "positive" that comes out of drugs in the house. Absolutely moronic.
I'm one of the people who wants solid evidence for any claim. I wouldn't defend the guy, but I also get tired of the drama around stuff that isn't really proven. Stuff like guns in an American home isn't the most outrageous thing ever. Having drugs is of course bad, but those can be stored in places where the kids simply don't have access to. Still bad, but less bad. I mean he also had alcohol all over his office. That must be "endangering children" as well then.

Kids always suffer in these situations. They are damned if they stay with the degenerate (allegedly) drug addled psychopath (my conspiracy) and it is even worse if they end up in the care of the state. It’s hard to say you care about your kids when the report in question details how he has never contacted the CPS people to try and work something out. And he revoked their permission to his drug results. At every turn he has actively worked against his children.

Yeah okay, but be bloody prepared to grovel, plead and beg in front of your children for forgiveness that at the very least you provided a home environment which when discovered was more than sufficient evidence to put them in foster care. i never really watched rekieta, but the more i learn about nick's past behavior the less sympathy I have for him or his partners. All my sympathies go toward those kids tho. No one should have to watch their parents succumb to addiction.

That's really awful and despite what he's saying he doesn't care about the well being of his family. If he did he would have never returned to the internet and would have gotten help. Addiction is a hell of a disease, I would know, I struggled with it for years. But it doesn't make you not responsible for your actions.

he was never lacking in anything thanks to family money in the first place. it is a theory that due to that he felt like caged and had this massive midlife balldo crisis solution. he probably wasn't dealing, although possibly distributing (ie giving for friends and anyone who was around).

I have no issue with parents owning firearms as it is our second amendment right here in the states, as long as the firearms are secured in a locked cabinet or gun safe. I’m a foster parent in a country where this is the typical reason kids come in to care. The case plan would more than likely involve sobriety, sobriety classes, parenting classes, random drug testing, and maybe mental health evaluations and follow ups. I’m not saying sobriety isn’t hard but if it’s means charges are dropped and you get your kids back you do it. (Not to mention most counties in the us doing have the resources to follow up so relapse happens)

I had no real opinion on Nick Riekata before this happened. I knew of his existence but that was about it. However, after all the information that has been released, along with the video evidence of a clearly disturbed man, my opinion has definitely been changing. I do believe in innocent until proven guilty however when it involves children we must err on the side of caution. The clip you showed at the end of him saying you should never grovel to the government disgusts me. I don’t care what I would have to do, if it was in the best interests of my children I would do it without hesitation. He obviously has not had the awakening he needs to understand that it is his actions that have caused this. Either he’s an inherently narcissistic person or he’s so deep in his addiction he can’t crawl out or more than likely it’s both. Your one job as a parent is to take care of your children to the best of your abilities. I feel ashamed for him because his children will see this at some point and know their parent cares more for himself than he does for them.

I never liked Rekieta, he always struck me as somebody who was always on the attack and couldn’t take criticism or sometimes even just a different viewpoint. Even with all of this going on it doesn’t seem like that has changed, and I don’t think that he’s going to get better, for himself, his wife, or his children until he’s able to accept that he’s screwed up and that the people talking about him aren’t doing so because they’re naive, foolish children who have never experienced hardships or pain. I do wish him the best, that he is able to get the help he needs and recover from this to be healthy and happy. But I think atm he’s so focused on attacking his critics and defending himself that he can’t see just how badly he’s messed up and how much he’s hurting himself and the people around him.

My brother was a drug addict his whole life - he died on Monday from the conditions from taking drugs. Before he died he couldn’t breathe and was on oxygen for 15 years.
I don’t have much sympathy for him as he could have still been alive now and live a long life hadn’t he started taking drugs, which is a self-imposed death sentence.

Interesting what you say about "when you have children, your life ends until they leave home". I was going to protest that my life hasn't ended, but thinking about it, I do get what you mean. I can never be my own #1 priority while I'm a parent to a minor child. Your wording seems harsh, because I like my life as a parent, but it is a fair estimation of how big a commitment it is, and how seriously people should think about it before they commit.

When it comes to the documents, I’m more on the side of them being true largely because anyone can physically go to the courthouse and request to see them. They’re public information/records, they’re just not put online. You can use their public computer to search them up there in-person and read them, though … and judging by the images of the documents, they seem to be taken of a screen (can see the cursor).
So anyone that lives there locally can go look for themselves if they wanted to confirm the contents, which I think someone went and did and then posted them to the farms. That and he messaged Josh/Null thanking him for locking the thread, and the way Josh talked was that he admitted to him they were real … except Josh didn’t do that for his sake, he only did it to wait and see if the docs were real, but now they have their own thread, so … make of that what one will.
BUT, if it does come out they’re tampered with, then okay. I’ll retract that and go on as if I never read them, but the point will still remain: Nick has a massive ego, can’t admit when he’s wrong, and is only hurting himself and his children more in the process the more he continues this “da gubmint is after me” train of thought while trying to claim anyone who thinks otherwise is just a “bootlicker”.
…. but if this was someone he didn’t like having this done to them, he’d be all over it. He’d be defending what the state did and saying it’s only fair when children are in the mix.

Instances where he took the side of the state many times before a trial even occurred based off of what was found and stated in documents. He’s just as guilty for doing the very thing he is now whining at others for doing, but in his mind, this is just totally different. It doesn’t apply to him.
Nick simply can’t fathom the idea of admitting wrongdoings. He has lauded his profession as a lawyer over others to make himself appear more correct and always called anyone that went against him as being “stupid”. He willingly put himself in this mess due to his own selfish actions, he just can’t comprehend how that’s possible because he still thinks he’s always right. He’s always been this way.
You wanna’ go do a bunch of drugs and fck around with your life? Okay, do that away from the children. Not in _their_ home where they have to see it and be around it. Don’t drive them to school after you’ve been up all night on a bender, bragging about getting speeding tickets during such. I watched Rekieta ages ago when he first started popping up on CZcams. Enjoyed his night streams and whiskey nights but then I just couldn't handle a lot of his views anymore. I truly hope the documents are a lie but the videos that have shown him very out of it on stream, the evidence of church attendees being concerned with him and his wife just being out of it and drastically losing weight.. I mean whiskey doesn't do that to you. You want to do what you want, have at it but when you have children... You no longer have the right to just do what you and only you want to do. You need to be responsible and protect your children. If you can't make the right decisions and would rather take substances, at the very least get your children out of that environment and put them somewhere safe.

Nick is in a very bad place, in my opinion. His demeanor is typical of substance abusers caught for the first time. it's everyone's fault but his. The evil government has always hated him and wanted to take his kids away. His demeanor is inconsistent with someone coming to terms with his own failures AND inconsistent with a confidently innocent person who knows justice will eventually prevail.
A person who is coming to grips with their own addiction would be a lot more humble and would recognize that *they*, not the system, are the greater threat to their kids. He acts as though he's going to come out on top of all this. I have nothing against him, though I suspect beyond "the sky is blue" we wouldn't agree on much. Withotu knowing details of the case beyond the superficial, I hope it all turns out to be a big misunderstanding and that he's not who he currently appears to be.
