Unless you're into expensive shopping and rich snobs, why go to Aspen? There's way prettier mountain towns that are less expensive.
Georgetown is right on the Freeway it's more of a truckstop.
Glenwood Springs, again, a major freeway runs right through. Same with Vail. Personally I think the best mountain towns are more secluded and less noisy via speeding cars.
Replace above places with Breckenridge, Ouray and Durango.

Not affordable
Alta, Utah, Mammoth Mountain, CA and Lake Louise, Canada are a million X better than anything in Colorado.
Most of Utah is ugly compared to Colorado.
