  • This a part 1 of a special video I made for my Uncle Pacifico "Pacing" Baxa and my cousins, Janette & Grace. It is a drive to and through my Uncle's hometown in the City of Bacarra, Ilocos Norte which is just a few minutes North of Laoag City. I hope that this video will help bring back some fond memories for my Uncle and give my cousins a brief glimpse into their roots here in the PI.

In Indonesia, there is a small town called "Bakkara", area 'BATAK' located on the shores of Lake Toba, North Sumatra Samosir
in the Philippines there are 'n Baccara n Batac..?
Batak (Indonesian Tribe) Inong = Mother,, Amang = father, iboto = sister, same with Batac in Philippines

Thank you for posting, I grew up on the main drag you're filming in - 3 houses away across from the bell tower. Have not seen Bacarra in a while... Thank you.

First and foremost, I just wanna say thank you for recording this video. Although it was intended for your uncle, thank you for taking the time to share it with the CZcams community. My family lives in Bacarra and we haven't been there since 2006. It's such a great feeling seeing the place I grew up in. It brings back a lot of memories. Thank you so much! Much aloha, from Hawaii :)

The HolySpartan I grew up in barangay 40 and barangay 6. I lived in them both because my parent's families are located in those two areas. You're still a kid? How old are you?

The HolySpartan hm, I'm not sure if I know your family but maybe someone in my family does. Has bacarra change from what's in the video?

The HolySpartan what's different now? I haven't been back in almost 10 years. I think I was 12 then. Even laoag, I would think is different huh?

The HolySpartan I bet! After all those years I would hope it looks better than what it did before. I think we might be going home in 2 years. Not sure but hopefully we get to see more of the new changes. I heard there was that white rock formation. Forgot what it's called purawan rocks-bato? Idk..
