- Hey guys this video covers my method for finding and killing Thumpers to farm PoE resources and get the blueprint for the new Korrudo melee weapon. Overall I think its worth your time to farm these guys especially if you need a variety of Cetus resources and dislike Mining/Fishing. I hope you find this helpful in finding these guys since they can be difficult to farm especially if you are a solo player. Hope you're all doing well ; )

necros does work on the thumpers. was trying it earlier. however, my hydroid i dont think was effecting it, but you can indeed desecrate the body of the thumper.

Spawning thumpers? That's easy. Just fly left out of Cetus toward the ocean. You must have the intent to fish though.
Then it's guaranteed to spawn and be a complete pain in the ass while you're just trying to mind your own business and fish...

Nothing hurts more than getting ready to fire a tranq at a ghost kuaka, only to hear the sound of a thumper charging at you...

As Thumpers don't spawn at night, there is no reason not to use Mirage Prime, wich deals significantly more damage. The thumper will be slowed by the Zenurik void blast so he doesn't deal much damage.
Mirage + riven Buzlok: fire and forget
The reason would be not to get instagibbed by high level snipers and ships
How does Mirage deal more damage? Unmodded she buffs for 200% while an unlmodded Chroma buffs for 275%.

The area between Geiser and the sea spawns thumpers reliably within 2a minute max. Just wait there and you should hear it spawn next to you 9/10 times
Thanks I just tried that I don't know if it is because I was wandering around in the Plains 40 minutes prior to finding your comment but as soon as I saw your comment and went to the location you said one spawn for me!

Only recently have I acquired Harrow. I immediately fell in love and I know it's been said before but his CC working on Thumpers is just fucking amazing.

Now it's time to really bully them! Use Harrow 4 when he tries his 1 hit kill attack then chain him...

@@aggammer3485the thumpers have a high cannon damage move in SP and regular domas. He's saying if you cast harrows 4 right, he will get a maxed ult.
This quick guide helped me with my Nightwave mission lol. Chroma with Zenurik and that Tether arcane for Operators seems to work as well.
Zenurik Temporal blast + Magus lockdown is straight overkill, but yes it's the optimal way to disable them. Slowva also works wonders.

Those without a pimped Chroma around can benefit using Octavia on Zenurik focus for solo Thumper grind. Go invisi (3rd ability) and slow Thumper (Zenurik) whenever possible, cast 1st 2nd and 4th for crowd control.. or more clearing the plains fodder, damages thumper too. Not as fast without damage buff and needs cycling thru all of Octavia's arsenal, plus Zenurik, but works on solo runs.
I kill thumpers with Oberon
You can also shoot the gun on the thumper.
Thanks for the tip. Guns really slowed me down first time I tried to kill Doma on Nova. Once I dealt with them, now it's really fast and easy.
Happened to get a riven for the Buzlok... works great for me.
Also - going invisible makes killing the thumper trivial.
To make things easier for those who don't have high power strength mods for their warframe to make Chroma/Nova viable,
Loki and Ivara works just as well. Takes longer to kill but you'll take very little damage in return. Just go invisible and start shooting. Loki has the added bonus of Decoy to ensure the Thumper focuses at a spot.

From my experience I would suggest for solo players/newbies who want to farm domas/bulls for the korrudo blueprint but happens to have less effective weapons or gear is to bring Loki in free roaming mode (lowest difficulty). Start patrolling the The Ribs->Mount Nang region back and forth and eventually a Tusk Thumper Bull WILL spawn. Make sure you have an archwing to be more effective because there is a lot of ground to cover. When you spot the bull just go invisible and shoot its legs down and you are good to go. My loadout for this method is a Loki/Rubico/Itzal combo to make out the maximum efficiency from invisibility. To be honest this may not be the most efficient way to farm the bulls/domas but the laziest one :)
Tip, for who doesn't have Zenurik abs. Take a team, find the thumper, surround him by flying on the archwing, and shoot at his legs, from the archwing, he has only 1 ability that can damage you in-air, which can be easily avoided.

Fought my first one last night. I was running a bounty and there he was. I was not prepared. I had Chroma and ignis wraith (which is not a good choice). Took me 30 minutes to kill it. The problem was the last leg at the back, because it kept turning to face me and would not stand still. Used all my ammo, primary and secondary. Luckily dog kept digging up more. Killed it right as night fell. Next time I use Zenurik and sniper.

Coming late to the party, I found this gem, and it pretty much convinced me to set up a Rhino Prime build *just for* Tusk Thumper farm, for the fun of it.
I personally don't see the point in these things dropping resources since the update also completely gutted the economy.
What do you mean? I didn't notice anything in the patch notes that would ruin the economy
@@gizmohollow Didn't you notice all the changes in the patch notes? Arcanes are now bought pre-built just like the ones from Fortuna. So the costs of Exodia and Magus Arcanes have gone down considerably now that you no longer need to craft them. Among some other changes, Cetus resources are now next to worthless.
@@AlvinEarthworm Oh, that's what you meant. I didn't realize people actually depended on buildable arcanes or resources for earning plat. Honestly, I feel like these changes are fantastic, because making an exodia/magus/virtuos set isn't a horrific grind anymore.
Also, making the cetus resources easier to get also takes the edge off the grind, kinda like how the exploiter made orb vallis resources less annoying to grind for (like hespazym)
@@gizmohollow I won't lie it was a bit of a grind. But at the same time it encouraged players to take part in the available content, or at least make the dedicated farmers time be rewarded with a nice amount of Plat from Trading. Now, outside of Tricaps and the occasional Thumper farm. There's little point in going to PoE at all now.

for more precise info instead of this vague spread. the thumpers have certain spawn location! the spawns are by no means random. thumper can spawn in ANY "encounter spot" so wher eyou find Dargons or platoons a thumper can also spawn. 4 things can happen in a spawn location. "Dargon - Thumper - Platoon - Nothing"
Holy shit bro! I didn't know Zenurik had an ability to slow enemies down or that the Sarpa is decent for anything.
Recently I've noticed that Mirage can easily outdamage Chroma with her buff alone (pure str/duration build with other two in negative). Yes, even without mirrors, with only her 3. You can try to incorporate mirrors for the greater effect with something with ridiculous AOE like Catchmoon (oh, right, you don't need to care at which side you standing with it since you can shoot right through the Thumper). She also doesn't need odd builds for your guns since her buff is multiplicative to the total weapon damage unlike Chroma's flat +Damage which ends up combined with +Damage mod on a weapon and whatver riven you have there. The only reason she isn't used to hunt Eidolons right now is that her buff doesn't work at night and ends up replaced with 95% damage reduction. However, since Thumpers spawn only during the day she could be a perfect choice since her buff workds just fine during this period.
Guess I have to check it, but, the idea is to take an umbral mirage duration/str build (that's 660% and more multiplicative damage) and classic Catchmoon (haymaker+splat) with rad build, use her 1 and 3 and then pew-pew-pew a few times in the general direction of the Thumper. Maybe strip armor before pew-pew-pew. Should be dead in a few pews.

I always struggle to get a better aim. Since my zenruki is close to max I can now use your technique.I didn't know that the operator could slow down such big units.
I have been using the Tigris prime on them and it deals good dmg to them but I 100% recommended some type of primed sniper to deal good dmg

Also, he said that Loot frames (Nekros, Hydroid, and Khora) do not affect the loot drops from the Thumpers.
Stripping all if the armor is lowering your potential damage output when using radiation. Get it as low as possible without removing it completely and watch your numbers skyrocket.
The thumpers health pool is the same type as their armor which is also weak to rad by 75% so in case of thumpers it's better to strip full armor
I actually just flew around in AW trying to find the spots that i knew Dargyns were at for a Riven Challange, 4/4 times at least one spawned around the central Lake. Usually just alert the whole Plains by aggroing everyone with a stolen Dargyn, for some reason it really attracts their attention when flying low enough.
Use mirage, she gets a massive damage buff in daylight (bigger than chroma, also they removed self damage so chroma isn't as good now)
1-2 shots from a Shattering Impact Vastilok will strip the armor very well too.
Guys rhino works really good if you press 4 it stuns the thumper until the duration is over sure dmg can't be a lot but its more better than shooting it while it's jumping
Seems like octavia is good because invis and distract which can open the thumpers back legs

Someone calculated how long it would take to max out all schools if you get to max standing every day and it was like 7 years

Between the Seethe and Renthi, the Grineer structure on the hill. Between that spot and the small encampment to the southeast I usually get Thumpers to spawn going back and forth on foot between those two spots. Wildlife spawns in these two areas when switching so good place to farm standing just from catching those while doing Thumpers
Ty for the sarpa trick. Check west of cetus particulary, south west coast and top of lake first, there are very rarely thumper on the east side, they can insta respawn. Prefere multiplayer for this, no more than 30s of searching. Nova + zenurik is stapple, any synova dps loadout are great and shrakram nezha is pretty good at destroying it also.

I had to test it before I posted but we did it today and it was super successful so here is the trick. Hildryn's balefire builds for radiation super easy and even as a fairly new player I killed one today in about 2 minutes. You can pretty much one shot the armor and then hit the vents once or twice. I am only using the standard heat and electricity mods and have her to 9k radiation.
Sarpa and a Rad weapon to kill it. So bring your normal Eidolon setup. Hunt Thumpers in the day and Eidolons at night, leave when you think you may have broken your inventory.
Yo guys the thumpers spawn near you and your friends the more people in that area the more likely it will spawn if this method doesnt work hover over named locations in the plain and maybe you missed it.Sometimes the thumper spawns on a mountain so always double check.:)))
Korrudo is actually quite good
I feel as though Harrow would work here. You chain the thumper and use a high damage radiation weapon like say the Arca Plasmor to burst down the legs after it's chained in place. That is, if the ability even works on the Thumpers.
Even if it doesn't, harrow still hits crazy strong.
I'll probably be called a heretic, but i use power strength nekros because i wanna make the most out of his shadows. For weapons, i use my riven modded prisma grakata, riven modded mare detron and riven modded sarpa

I've used many frames, amps archwings. & best way for me is amesha archwing. No knockdown, can slow it down so you don't have to play the game it likes to play when 1 leg remains😠
Thumpers are fun to fight without slowing them. Them and the Ropalolyst are currently my favourite fights in Warframe.

Appreciate the build but without that Rubico Critacon mod-it's way, way harder. And good luck finding that gem without going broke. Being able to close the vent without having to reload makes all the difference.

Harrow's Condemn can completely immobilize it for some time
Amesha is hood to use against them, slows them down and invincibility
You make warframe song like a real mmo now, hope they keep this direction need challenge with out sleeping 2hrs in survival only to get 4 life support drops in 30mins
Amesha's third ability makes it so easy too
I use amnesha's slow effect cause you don't have to worry about the knock down or Rhino's stomp.
Hey I don't know if you know this, but you can actually pretty easily test it.
So I know that chroma's vex armor doesn't apply to dmg like serration or on a riven and because of this people use primed cryo for this.
BUT I tested it on a bunch of alloy armor enemies(because it is pretty hard to test during the eidolon fight) and if you replace p cryo for any other 60/60 fire or electrity mod or wildifre(because statuschance is irrelevant), you actually get more damage out of it.
I don't know why that is , but I think that increasing the radiation on it gives more because of the 75%synergizing with the chroma buff

Arcane magus lockdown works on the thumpers to make them stand still for 5secs.. Works a treat with chroma 1 shoting the limbs.

chroma only increase the base damage i recomend taking a oberon as he can increase the total damage as radiation
Mesa aims for the body with her 4. If you can line things up so a leg weakpoint is between mesa and her aim point then she will mangle the weakpoints just as well as she mangles anything else. It's just bloody impossible to get that perfect lineup heh

Korrudo MR fodder? lol 49.6% CC with true steel and 58.3% CC with sacrificial steel plus they inherited lifesteal from the Hirudo. These things are very good and with the life steal they are godly.
Actually since the heavy attack on gunblades now force blast and impact so redeemer is now viable

Whats your build for that? i tried the standard slash and a radiation build and found the dmg pretty meh.
For thumper hunts I use a max duration ash with the augment for his smoke. When it comes to weapons I normally just go for high-CRIT builds on something like the dread or paras prime. It’s not the most efficient thing, but it works

I think you forgot to mention the steps of having to forma your Rubico 6 times, own or purchase a godlike Rubico riven worth at least 1500p easy, forma your Chroma like 8 times, and run 2x3 or 3x3 Tridolons until you've maxed out all schools.

Reagen Lionel redeemer doesn’t do impact damage IIRC.
You can use archwing Amesha 3 ability to slow it and wisps buffs work in archwing, i think she is the only frame that does.
@Azriel Tuangco Its very easy with Amesha with its slowing ability and the fact that thumpers can't knock you out of archwing. It can be a little annoying if your close to a base with rocket launchers but it easy to zip around and take those out and go back to thumper. Also I bind my archwing launcher to my F1 key so even if i get knocked out I can jump back into before falling to the ground. Oh and with her vitality buff in archwing you have close to 3k hp and if that is not enough Amesha 2 ability will absorb enemy fire and heal anyone in range
