I like how nobody has ever tried to depict 682 in a healed state and everybody always draws it as being decayed and semi skeletal even though it only looks like that in one single image only when it was put in acid
If at one point, if I remember correctly, the foundation used another SCP to place 682 in a sealed chamber before removing several universal concepts, such as time, space, and thermodynamics.
By the time they were finished, 682 had been reduced to, literally, a single point in space, from which it regenerated without difficulty.
Apparently, it found the whole experience rather refreshing.

I think the reason 682 went docile around 053 was because it sensed the danger in trying to attack the girl and simply didn't to avoid a negative outcome.
I was thinking because they both had human minds and 053 did not try to kill 682 or did not seem a threat.

And perhaps why they don't want to test utilizing a nuclear weapon to kill this anomaly permanently, at least not yet...for if they fail...they'll fail epically, and they'll end up pro-volving 682 past Doomsday levels... then again...it seems that whatever adaptions it develops it doesn't keep permanently, either looking them if damaged from some other force to regenerate later to adapt in a species way to this new threat or perhaps simply restructuring itself for simplicity, perhaps lacking necessary logistics to feasibly keep all contradictory adaptions functioning together, not that it seems to have need of that as it hasn't died yet, always surviving to adapt again and again and yet again.... all the while keeping that uniquely cerebral if malevolent personality of his(his? I am convinced that 682 encourages attempts to kill it in an attempt to evolve. The more things they try - the stronger it gets, yet they keep trying.
probably, considering how random some of the reasons it doesn't get killed is. It got sent into the Sun and just teleports back, like okay what's stopping it from just evolving way beyond the need for the reason its evolving at that point? If all it does is evolve to be able to survive any external stimulus then it should've evolved to be able to live there instead of coming back. If sending it to another planet or throwing it into a star makes it develop a way to come back to Earth instead of just being able to live on whatever it got thrown to then it's already pretty plot-armory as is
Another interesting cross-test was between SCP-682 an another SCP that is basically a rabbit that can chew through anything. I don't remember the number, but apparently the huge immortal killing lizard was afraid of a little rabbit, and tried to avoid it as much as possible.

Technically SCP 2935 can (and did). However as for now, it is locked away inside an alternate dimension where it hopefully won't escape. Essentially, it's an entity that is death to all life itself. A research team stumbled into this dimension and eventually found 682 (along with everything else on the planet) dead in its containment cell.

My favorite so far is someone thought putting Clef against it was a good idea. Clef caused a containment breach and 682, the sadistic troll it is didn't even attempt to escape. It just... stared at Clef. And kept staring, quiet on its place doing nothing

I have a theory. What if the little girls abilities are affecting 182 but reversed. 182 is naturally violent and her abilities make him docile. Maybe his instinct to survive possibly plays into this as well. I can see these two scp potentially developing a symbiotic kind of connection if left together for to long also due to the affects their abilities have on each other.

I had the idea to put godzilla (monsterverse) and 682 in a room. Knowing the mz godzilla, he would identify 682 as an anomaly, an imbalance in nature. but after watching this video the idea became obsolete

The key is to put itself against itself.
I think I have an idea on how to kill 682. Put him in an empty room, with 173 on a trapdoor in the ceiling, 682 not knowing of this. Then, shoot out 682's eyes, and drop the trap door, letting 173 fall into the room, and kill 682. If none of the spectators look, 682 should eventually die, right?
I’m working on a potential SCP that answers the question of 682’s origin and how it gained its immortality. Essentially, the Foundation learns of an anomaly that could kill 682 for good, but the anomaly in question is so much worse that the Foundation actually decides to team up with 682 against it. And 682, who is familiar with the anomaly, actually agrees to work with the Foundation.
kinda weak ngl, why would the lizard team up with them if its been aware of the other anomaly the whole time but still getting tortured for thousands of execution attempts by the foundation? There's genuinely no reason the lizard should have a motive to work with them, if anything it would probably work with the other thing to help kill more people because it wants to kill pretty much everything that won't result in it getting killed in the process

Essentially, 682 has past experience with this SCP, and when the Foundation proposes an alliance, 682, remembering my new anomaly and what it's done, decides that the Foundation is the lesser of two evils here, just like the Foundation views 682 as the lesser of two evils compared to my new SCP.
@@Penquinn14 I would also like to point out that this alliance does not change 682's overall view on the Foundation or life in general. 682 still hates all life and views the Foundation as "disgusting." However, 682 also understands the concept Machiavelli touched on when he said "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" - or, in this case, my ally.
Let’s stop to appreciate the actual durability and power of all these SCPs that were put up against 682, they all walked out alive.

If it’s so terrified of 173 then they could just contain them in the same room, and that would theoretically create a perpetual stalemate that results in both of them being safely contained
But you’d still have to clean up the blood and feces that comes off of 173, and 682 would probably kill you if you got in the same cell as it
The foundation would likely get bored, shoot 682s eyes out again, he'd regenerate an ability where he can see 173 while breaching containment.
If kept in the vat of acid with 173 permanently, then maybe that's a way to neutralize 682.

Here's an idea, test 053 with some d class to see if the homicidal state persists when she's no longer present. Basically, put a few d class in a room with her so they try to attack each other before dying by trying to attack her, then have her leave. Even if in the end there is only one d class remaining, the foundation can observe the individual for an extended period and see if they will eventually snap out of it. If this is the case, cross test scp 999 with 053 to see if the tickle monster can be affected at all considering his ability to resist and even turn more hostile scps docile. If this is also the case that scp 999 can resist the murderous desires, simply house scps 053, 999, and 682 together??? Considering the 999 also has a positive track record with 682, this change in containment procedures could prevent 682 breaches not through pain, torture, and attempted murder, but through a positive space where he's simply to happy/docile to try and leave violently.

Current most likely methods to kill the hard to kill reptile:
1. A literal coffee machine

but apparently 2935 can just kill once because when the foundation went to the 2935 universe, it didnt kill them so why not let 2935 enter our universe and then bring everyone back with scp-2000, or why not sent 682 there, completly seal the entrance and then use 738 to make a deal so 682 can't escape 2935 universe. and lastly mi idea is that the foundation should use 087, simple sedate 682 and drop it and it will probably fall forever

Turns out, the GOC is probably the perfect group to re-contain 682, as they have bullets made of cold iron, an anomalous metal that deals wounds that cannot be healed, when a cold iron blade was used on 682 by the dragon slayer mech he did not heal from the wounds for a very long time, and 682 did not adapt to be immune.

the only way to kill 682 is probably to desert it of any way to adapt, or remove something it needs to live. I don't know what would happen if a reality warper removed 682's ability to adapt, but I think it'd be the only way to stop it.

Actually the Guardian´s sword severely mauled and incapacited 682, but 682 mocked the Guardian saying "Pff you re not Uriel, and this is not Eden, Eden was far east from here." to wich the guardian responded by smiting it again after wich 682 was way too mauled to even utter response. The Guardian then ordered (by psyonic commands) the foundation to remove 682 from his domains.

Gate guardian actually used his telekinesis to tell 682 to die. Then 682 responded with something like: wouldn't we all like that to happen? He then spat on the gate guardian who then slashed him. He then said something on the lines of: the fruit is not real before being knocked out losing multiple limbs and being removed from the guardians domain

I am absolutely convinced that 682 has a hidden cognito-hazard that makes people want to kill it. There are so many other anomalies that are more dangerous and yet the foundation insists that they are not terminated and meanwhile they waste so much time trying to kill the thing who's greatest defining features are its inability to die and the power to adapt and evolve from being harmed. This isn't spite or determination, it's madness, and a highly organized foundation like this (probably) wouldn't be dumb enough to continue unless it's being influenced somehow.
I have a running theory that 682 can’t die until all it hates is also death. The only times we’ve seen it dead is when all humans are also dead.
682 himself is incredibly dangerous just to have though. The reason for the termination attempts are due to how regularly he breaches containment and the potential threat he can become. Not to mention if they just keep him there then as time passes the likelihood that he just escapes and attempts to destroy as much as he can grows.

@@The_Andromeda_Galaxy You know he's smart. Also, he injured some of the staff when he did break out. Not outright kill. When 682 does break out he's ANGRY (well, he's always angry. But he lashes out at this point). And even then he manages to be (somewhat) merciful. It's just that a LARGE number of people are fragile, weak, pathetic and hypocrites. 682 is struggling with the urge to destroy the disgusting sight before him over and over. It's only going to change when someone challenges and pushes the monster right back. Which will require a very specific approch (got to risk pissing it off more oddly enough). A monster that can devour you. Class D's full of fear and thinking irrational from being locked up won't cut it. Nor will control freaks with power. The environment itself drastically changes things.
Who's making him angry though? Consider that. What is it 682 finds "disgusting"? I know how monsters work. Chaos is simply... a consequence. Most often a consequence of control freaks. Cue in the SCP staff. Keeping 682 contained is likely only making him more angry. And I think the foundation knows that. Hence their attempts to try and destroy him. It's basically Darth Vader in animal form. Who's "giving" him a reason to care? Who's even trying to do that? Or are they too selfish with their own tests?
Still, if 682 did break out where would he go and what would he do? At least with them there's a challenge (which brings in adaptation). So it's quite possible 682 chooses to stay. It might even suit him. Tempting as it can be to burn the world and munch every living thing in sight it can get old. Even sadistic destructive monsters have to pass the time somehow. If you're pushing him with tests to get him to adapt then why would he leave when adapting is his whole thing? The attempts to destroy him only serve to make him stronger. With each failed test.
At some point the tests are going to give him teleportation powers or something. Hell, that could have happened with 106. Maybe stop trying to kill the guy? Fear itself might just be why we all get destroyed at this rate.
Actually, thinking about it, what stops 106 from just teleporting out of the facility? I'm now genially confused as to why 106 just doesn't yeet it out of there. Unless 106 also chooses to stay. Even if it's short range 682 having that ability would be, well, imagine a boss fight in a game with that. That would be epic actually. Make it happen. A animal boss that fights like a cross between Darth Vader from Star Wars and and Virgil from Devil May Cry? Give it a few more tests and we'll probably have that.
Honestly, I often wonder if the foundation itself are trapped with the SCPs instead of the other way around. Just let them think they're in control when you're toying with them. That actually explains why the foundation is so incompetent yet somehow survives.
