    I heard GW might see Bonesplittas as problematic stereotypes of natives. Also they seem very generic orks and not unique to AoS. Old World is made of basic stereotypes so they fit better in there.

      Ahhh I haven't thought or heard of that one before but now you've pointed it out. That does make alot of sense! :)
      What do you think GW could/should change for them to take them to a more AOS theme and style? Agreed though. As is they for sure fit back into the OW.

      @@LakeyWargames I think the kruelboyz monstakillaz could be a way to go, lots of furs, pelts, skulls and bones. They could tie more in to the jungle aesthetic with tons of animal sidekicks like snakes and monkeys. But I agree with your video, they are likely getting cut from AoS.

      They are some really cool minis those. It's what made me so surprised to see them for Kruelboyz because that's very much how I pictured Bonesplitterz to go if they get updated for sure!

    I just stumbled upon your video and love the speculations! I think light and heavy cavalry would be fantastic for the KrulBoyz, but also if they are going to stand alone, maybe give them a cool elite heavy armored infantry unit with two handed weapons and maybe some HobGrot slingers, for some range. Haha more KrulBoyz! More IronJawz! 🤓

    I am hoping that allies are flexible enough in 4.0 to accommodate the "traditional" mixed orkoid armies. The crazy gitz and squigs really carry the flavor of the faction in fantasy / AoS where you don't have bubblechuckers, shokk guns, meks, and the like.

    • @LakeyWargames
      @LakeyWargames  Před 9 měsíci

      100%! I think they game as a whole would really benefit from an overhaul of how allies work. The games balance is probably the best its been in a long time and I get that allies can make it 10x more difficult to manage but aslong as they double check the keywords on synergies which they are better at doing these days then I don't think having more flexibility in allies would be bad for anyone.
      Coalition was great as an alternative for armies it was more themed to be so like with Cities and their allies but GW seems to be removing that from the game so it'll be interesting to see if they have something else in mind moving forward! :)

    i personally don't feel like the iron jawz and kruleboyz are replacing the bonesplitters to me, they might have some similarities but not replacing. to me the bonesplitters look a bit more insane and i really hope they stay in aos and don't just go to old world. i like they are the middle of gork and mork. i also think if gw was really planning to remove bonesplitters they wouldn't have gotten an underworld team. yeah ironjawz had their big update now and not bonesplitters but that doesn't mean they are gonna get thrown away, production cycles take a lot of time also why we had iron jawz 2 years after kruleboyz ^^
    i hope we stay with 1 book for orruk warclans, i don't get why we would wanna have separate ones as it would only cost us more money. i love the concept as playing them as separate factions and as 1 combined one. it also gives the bonus of being able to collect minis in your way. let's say you started with kruleboyz and ironjawz look fun you can start with 1-2 units and you can already play big waagh and use your models while you slowly build up ^^ also it's just very thematic ^^
    in the end we are all just theorizing what's gonna happen. i hope it stays the way it is as i love the current way ^^
    also kruleboy cavalry yes pls ^^ (especially if they are hobgrots i want more of them :3)

    • @LakeyWargames
      @LakeyWargames  Před 9 měsíci +1

      That's a really good set of points on defending the Bonesplitterz to stay SpooKimi I like those ideas alot! :)
      You're very much right on the splitting aspect too. Fans of all three would be more out of pocket but then that could just be more motivation for GW to earn more cash from those who buy into multiple? But you're very much right about collectors and players being in one place which its a big boon for us the customers for sure.
      Sometimes though wish listing and thinking in theory can be quite fun to do and then see what happens when it shakes down. hobgrot cavalry would for sure be awesome to see!! ^^
      Thanks for watching and great ideas thrown into the pot! :)

      @@LakeyWargames thnx for the response ^^ a lot of my defense for the bonesplitters is from comments ive seen and i do think teams getting a warcry and underworlds won't be left behind as gw is putting money in them ^^
      i also think they won't just be for old world as my local hobby peeps point out that most old world stuff being resin is a sign of gw not trusting old world players, so they are just testing the waters ^^
      but yeah im a soley kruleboyz player but having played against big waagh im lowkey tempted to start more orkies in the future ^^
      and i really hope kb is getting more hobgrots, i do like using them as fodder and for fun but damm they are hard to bring in a list the more big models im getting :p

    I have a massive army of the old original 90s metal savage orcs, but don't like the curernt plastic kits other than the underworlds band. not sure why but they just don't do it for me. If they'd wanted to redo the savage orcs then they surely wouldn't have done the kruleboyz. it's pretty clear bonesplitterz are going, just a question of how long. as you said GW are covering a lot of the bonespliterz style/units in the other two factions new units. all they need to do is give the kruleboyz a light/medium cav option to replace boar boyz, some sort of additonal elite(ish) combat unit (previously I really wanted them to do an elite bonespliterz unit based on the 'wolverine' model in the underworlds warband) and an equivalent to the wurgog prophet (because that mechanic is great, if only a little OP) and they're done.
    The units I really want for kruleboyz would be some sort of sneaky combat unit that could apear out of terrain, and a cav unit that had a charge and retreat sort of style (I saw the necromunda ash waste nomad insectoid rider things and thought something similar would make a great kruleboyz swamp walker type mounted unit).
    as for big waagh I want them to combine gloomspite gitz, bring back mixed orcs and goblins armies! the fact the main studio could cut the legs off the Old World and specialist studio makes me think they could do this one, but I doubt they will.
    oh, and keep the single combined book for both ironjawz and kruleboyz, no one wants to buy more books. also even with the new Ironjawz warscrolls there's still far less in the warclans book than a lot of other factions.

      Sorry for the late reply Matthew! Been playing catch up everything as of late from being ill last week.
      That's really cool though, I'm not to familiar with those sculpts but I had a little look on Google and I can see the appeal for them. Some of them have alot of character to them for sure. With the newer plastics we've seen GW if they really wanted too would crush new Bonesplittaz no doubt! But yeah, it seems they're putting that to use in these other kits. Still though, maybe they're going to flip them onto a different path AOS style?
      Oooo now that would be cool. And very Kruelboy like sneaking out of the terrain and hit and runs! I like those ideas alot, I'd love to see that too! :)
      Hmm yeah, I think with the way GSG is split almost into four sub armies itself being gobbos, trolls, squigs and spiders. I think it would create a real massive book to be put back in with the Ourrk stuff now. Though that said warscroll for warscroll they probably would just be on par with SCE haha. But it would be hard to balance it all together or they'd just be super split inside a massive book which would defeat the idea of combining them I think.
      That's a fair shout, how many more warscrolls do you think IJ would need to be more stand alone worthy? :)

  • @PMMagro
    @PMMagro Před 9 měsíci +1

    The savage orcs are very thematic. I really like that look and style. The newer two have some great minis but for me only the Krule Boyz have character.
    Shifting the savage orcs to the Old World makes sense.

    • @LakeyWargames
      @LakeyWargames  Před 9 měsíci

      That's a fair take, even though I see the old models moving over regardless. It would be nice to see how GW would bring Savage Orruks into the modern times with sculpts. Seeing how they've smashed every AOS mini out the park these last few years it's something I'm sure they could do with the concept. :)
      But at the same time, newer IJ and KBZ models are really stepping on their toes in terms of what makes Bonesplitterz their own thing which is what worries me we might not see it. :(

    • @LakeyWargames
      @LakeyWargames  Před 9 měsíci +1

      They do have a rather cool element to them for sure. I think GW would smash out some awesome minis in their style if they wanted to reboot them. But it would require alot of love in order to fill out a decent stand alone tome for them given the current choice in their range. Never say never though! :D

    Losig Big Waaagh! would be heartbreaking. The Waaagh! points system is super fun to play with, and the balance between aggression and strategy is far more engaging than the more linear individual armies.

    Hot Take!
    This is what I desperately want. I feel it's honestly the smartest thing to do. Rather than having all the orks be separated by this weird faction line, ALL orks are one faction. The units keep their keywords, but your army builds around keywords. You gain levels of abilities based on the number of heroes you have with the faction keyword. But basically the entire Orruks range is always Big Waagh, just not called Big Waagh. It's just called Orruk Warclans.
    So this is how it breaks down.
    -1 book. Orruk Warclans
    - All Orruk Warclans armies have Waagh Energy Points with associated table of buffs.
    - All Orruk Warclans heroes have strength from combat (kill a model get +1 wounds Char.)
    -Gain 1 ability for 1 keyword hero.(Ironjawz, Kruleboyz or Bonesplitterz) Gain 2nd ability at 3 and gain a sub-faction choice if you go pure. (All units in your army have the same keyword)
    -rework alot of abilities to be keyworded to Orruk Warclans( Murknob for example, 5+ spell ignore keyworded to Orruk Warclans instead of only Kruleboyz)
    Keep Bonesplitterz just update the models. I think there's a good precedent for that, looking at how long it took them to finally get to FEC. It could be that they are waiting for 4th and old world to finally release the updated range and move all the fantasy stuff back to old world.

    • @LakeyWargames
      @LakeyWargames  Před 9 měsíci

      Ooo that sounds like it would be quite a fun a different route to take. That would certainly shake things up alot but also allow all the factions to stay in one book and act cohesively. As you said though that will take alot of warscroll changes in order to make them function. Question would be do you think GW could manage such a big change in one go without breaking it? Haha. You might be onto something here though Mark! :)

    • @markpandelidis2079
      @markpandelidis2079 Před 9 měsíci +1

      @@LakeyWargames I mean, I think alot of warscrolls could stay close to what they are. Honestly the biggest changes I would make is to how IJ function.
      I'd make pretty much all units have 2 rend 2 Damage and 3+ save. Maybe only Gore-gruntas staying at 4+ save. Megaboss, brutes and gruntas get -2 rend on choppas D1 and -1 D2 on hackas. Since hackas have better range. Innard bursting roar no longer missile, just does mortals. Stuff like that. They definitely need a boost in power. But other than just changing some wording I actually don't think that any of the abilities need too much work. Just increase in aura sizes and re-wording mostly. I have alot of ideas on how to make the army better 😂

  • @Xabierum
    @Xabierum Před 4 měsíci

    Nice video. Now that savage orcs are gone I hope for a second wave for kruleboyz in 4th edition. I was surprised though to hear from you that the kruleboyz range is almost completed. We have 3 units only. What do you think future is going to bring for them?

    • @LakeyWargames
      @LakeyWargames  Před 4 měsíci

      Oh I can see that happening in 4th for sure. They have to fill the gaps made now in the army which are mainly a cavalry shaped hole haha! ^^
      Well I think by complete I mean more mainly it's well rounded. There's good heros, combat, shooting, monsters. Once/if a cavalry unit comes into play Kruelboyz will be very nicely balanced for sure. Even more so if you can combine effectively with IJ for armoured units and also they kind of already fill the cavalry gap if that will be an option.
      Mainly I think we will see a sureing up of their rules over a massive increase of units. Bring them a little more balance. Like all the small changes we've seen over the course of third. Like the change to scare shields on normal boyz. If units like the Killboss and the guy with the banner become more universally useful that will help the unit pool too. :)
      I do believe we will see an expansion on subfactions and see an extra one for KBZ based on some articles and hints that have been dropped about them. And just all round making the faction less only one build is the way to win sort of style. :)
      If KBZ and IJ stay together in one book and can mix and match there's already going to be so many good options to put together depending how it is written for sure. :)
      What would you like to see Xabierum? :)

    • @Xabierum
      @Xabierum Před 4 měsíci

      @@LakeyWargames there's a trend in aos where factions are not explored deeply. I would like to see KBZ independent from IJ. The swamp theme offers plenty of wonderful possibilities, the KBZ could be explored with new units for example explorers, trappers, hunters, beast masters and so on. Then we could see plenty of monsters which live in the swamps , trolls, crocodiles, and more. A cavalry unit would be nice.
      What are those articles and hints you meant?

  • @sheepys551
    @sheepys551 Před 9 měsíci +1

    I prefer a big ol book of orruks. A problem with current big waaagh lists is however, that its all ironjawz units with heroes from the other 2 if they are good. This works for me because the things I like from KBs and BS is their heroes. I don't wanna buy 5 boxes of boltboyz just to use the awesome snatchaboss model. The problem with balancing this internally is ironjawz on their own suck so they cant nerf their warscrolls. As much as I hate to say as a big waaaagh player splitting up might be better.

    • @LakeyWargames
      @LakeyWargames  Před 9 měsíci +1

      That's a fair take on it Sheepy! It's why I'm hoping that if apon splitting they might balance the internals of the books more so Kruelboyz for example won't just be relying on Boltboy spam. But I know the feeling, it felt so odd having that change up when Legions of Nagash broke down and death got even more split. But I think in the longer run it's been for the best. Maybe in 4.0 we'll see a better ally system to help those who like the fun of mixing still without having to lean on the soup book? :)
