- The second round of the NBA Playoffs continued on Monday with game two of Minnesota Timberwolves vs the Denver Nuggets and game one of New York Knicks vs Indiana Pacers which featured even more insane play from Jalen Brunson. In Denver, we saw Anthony Edwards, Karl-Anthony Towns, and a Wolves team without Rudy Gobert, completely embarrass the reigning champion Nuggets by blowing them out to take a 2-0 series lead. They had one of the best defensive performances I've ever seen, completely neutralizing Nikola Jokic, Jamal Murray, Michael Porter Jr, and the entire Denver Nuggets offense. After destroying the Phoenix Suns it was clear the Timberwolves were for real, but this is something entirely unexpected. Meanwhile, the Knicks took a 1-0 lead over Indiana with some pretty disappointing play from Tyrese Haliburton continuing over from round one. Let's talk about it.

The defense was insane. Same time I thought that everyone else in the team could have cut to the basket when Murray or Jokic were being doubled or force to give the ball away. They all stayed in the corners to get a wide open three like Aaron Gordon. Could have been more effective cutting to the basket. I'm sure DEN will look at tape but it's too late. Going down 0-2 at home and now going away is tough. Jokic and Murray will need to get 60 - 70 points for DEN to pull an away win. Minnesota bench of Naz Reid and Nikel Alexander Walker smashed DEN bench. DEN really blew not replacing Bruce Brown and Jeff Green who were basically and funny enough the main two guys off the bench. That now belongs to the Wolves and those two guy I mentioned in Reid and Walker might be the difference of winning a series to a weaker bench.

I see that too but as a Wolves fan this has never happened before and I’m all here for it. Ive been a fan since I was around 9 years old. I remember as a 9 year old celebrating like the T-Wolves won the finals when KG, Marbury and the Wolves beat MJ and the Bulls for the first time ever at the Target Center. We’re from Minnesota but my dad and my older brother were MJ fans so it was a sweet feeling 😂

It was THAT BAD that DEN fans left early and the Pepsi Center was filled with Minnesota fans chanting, "Wolves in 4" and MVP chants to Anthony Edwards. I don't think I have ever seen that in a playoffs from a home team.

the reality is this… this nuggets team is not the nuggets from last year. the roster changes effected them. & jamal murray not 100%. then to top it off… the timberwolves are LEGIT. i dont think this is all that shocking.

They are the same Nuggets from last year, who had one of the easiest runs to the title in recent history. This series is the FIRST series they have faced a 50+ win team in this or last years playoffs.
And the Wolves have held them to less then 100 in 4 out of 6 games, and one of the losses was without Naz, Kat AND Gobert. Nothing has changed except the Nugs have been exposed for riding upset matchups to a title last year.

Call Malone a crybaby despite the refs being trash the whole series so far for both sides. You are just some random Lakers fan happy about our downfall. That's fine, keep praying on our downfall. Us Nuggets fans never won a ring and had to go through a lot of suffering during this rebuild, especially with the Jamal injury until last year when we finally won.

Great episode! Here in Europe (Switzerland to be exact) we only get to see the summaries. And there you hardly see any good defence or missed shots so it's sometimes hard to understand why in this case the Timberwolves are scoring and scoring without Denver getting their act together. Thx!

A lot of narratives about jokics defense when in reality he always played defense like this. Gordon being discarded offensively like that means jokic doesn’t have a lob threat, he has to score and that means nobody can get going when they force joker to go 1 on 1. Wolves in 5 I believe.

As a Clippers fan (ik don't flame me) I watched all the games. and only team I was scared of were the T-Wolves because of their size and defense. We were 2-2 against OKC and NUggets and even clapped the Celtics in their house but the only team we couldn't beat were the Wolves. Going 1-3 agaisnt them in the season
But I honestly was curious on how good Ant was gonna be in the playoffs, but turns out he's even BETTER. Dude is young and I hope he has a healthy career cuz if he does.. I'm sure he can work his way into people's top lists

Yeah, Wolves fans knew. Nugs have been fully exposed for riding series upsets to one of the easiest title runs in recent history. Although I agree on 1 thing. a Knicks Wolves finals would be the most entertaining harken back to 90's defense finals we could get.

As a UK Wolves fan I had to sleep last night and miss the game. I fully expected to lose last night. I even had made my peace in it possibly being a lopsided Nuggets victory. To wake up to a near stunned silence on the internet shocked me. Slowly CZcams videos were dropped, and I get to watch the defensive effort the Wolves gave. It wasn’t until half the morning had gone by before I realised Gobert hadn’t played. That time where Murray was smothered by McDaniels and Alexander-Walker was a sight to behold.
Nuggets still think they’re playing the Lakers. The Wolves are 100% better than the Lakers. You can’t go down 20 at half then comeback. Once they realize this they’ll win some games

Do we think the nuggets just had a game plan more focused around Rudy being the main paint defender or does this game just show the wolves depth?
I think the nuggets had a gameplan that they were gonna throw at rudy but I also think this proved that the gameplan probably won't matter too much when you look at it. They have too much talent defensively to get 5 outed to death like those jazz teams. Gobert also isn't a bad perimeter defender when he actually guards his man our there so I don't really think getting him to switch is going to kill the timberwolves defense.
You saw what happened when the suns did so as gobert did a pretty damn good job on KD and Co when he switched. The only way they win this series is for them to get physical themselves and I dont know if they can. Maybe they could to make sure gobert goes on jokic to free up AG but Jamal still dealing with monsters surrounding him. I think this definitely showed how good the wolves are much more than any gameplan it looked Ike the nuggets had or would have.

I’m a Celtics die hard fan and I honestly don’t think they will win a chip with Tatum and Mazzulla. Both need to go. Porzingis was a flop. They wrapped him In bubble wrap and he gets injured and is now likely out for the season. Tatum isn’t a leader. Brown has that dog in him but I think having Tatum around is hindering his ability to rise but at the same time if brown had those leadership qualities he would just let it be known he’s that alpha dog. I think the Celtics are in the midst of an identity crisis. Stacked with talent but rudderless in the leadership department.
